Dr. Rowland O. Mbaoma

My initial interaction w/Dr. Mbaoma was after I was admitted because of low hemoglobins. I was diagnosed with stage 4 NHL. He was a pleasant doctor so I decided to let him treat my NHL. After 6 rounds of chemo and a couple of follow up visits, he disappeared, “family issue”. The receptionist was NEVER pleasant. Never had a smile. We, the patient, come in with fear. A simple smile melts some fears. I was reassured he was coming back. Decided to go to North Western Hospital, Chicago. My new doctor would NOT have used chemo only rituxan. Although it’s a long drive to NW hospital. It’s well worth the great doctor, care, and pleasant staff.

My husband was diagnosed with NHL in October of 2019. He was started on high dose chemo and developed many side effects and complications. Dr. Mbaoma disappeared with no notice or even a call from the office that we would now be treated by another physician in the office. I don't think anyone ever really read or reviewed the entire chart for information about him. They just tried to treat a disease. No one ever really new the whole story about him until we asked our family doctor to intercede for us. He expired in June and the only contact from the office were bills. If you go to him ask if he is planning on leaving his patients again with out telling them.

Every visit is always professional and well explained. Dr. Mbaoma is a wonderful Dr. he cares about his patients. He is very respectful and pleasant person. I like his bedside manner. I would recommend him to anyone that has problems with their blood. Thanks Doc, you're the best and your staff absolutely rocks!!!!!!!!!!

Best doctor he really understands and no one else like him

If I could give zero stars I would. Dr. Mbaoma did not reach out with a treatment plan, incorrectly sent a referral, and is generally incompetent. I would not trust him with anything, least of all a life.

Has been my oncologist for the pass 11years. I have been in remission for 10 years. Very personal Dr. Will listen to your concerns.

The experience has been excellent Dr. Mbaoma has treated me- and now my wife-with great concern and compassion. We trust his medical judgement completely.

At a time where our family thought of giving up, Dr. Mbaoma lifted our spirits and gave us hope again. He was my mothers oncologist and we couldn't have asked for anyone better. He is kind, caring, knowledgeable, answered all our questions and never rushed us. I don't know what we would have done without him!

Dr. Mboama is very thorough and spends time without rushing you out. Wait time is minimal. Told me what I could expect and responded to any issues that arose promptly. I would recommend him to anyone.
