We were seen on time and made to feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. Dr. Merola took over 2 hours to carefully evaluate & assess all the areas of concern we had. She was thorough, complete, & direct with me and very caring towards my child. She listened to all my questions and did not interrupt me, guiding me when I wasn't even sure what I needed to ask. That can often be a trigger for long-standing medical professionals and it's an enormous pet peeve of mine. We could not ask for a better visit. We walked out of the appointment much more ready to face a lifetime of care for my child's condition and armed with a manageable pathway to improvement. I have no idea what the basis for the negative reviews here is outside of emotional reaction, but my experience was the complete opposite. It did take over 1 month to get an appointment, but it is very clear to see why. We feel we are in good hands with Dr. Merola and her team.

I had the same experience as the person above. She sat behind her desk the whole time. Did not observe or play with my child at all. After she diagnosed him she did not show an ounce of empathy to him or to us. Didnt tell us anything reassuring it was just another diagnoses for her and she did not ask us at all if we had questions and short of giving us youtube videos that was her extent of help. I don't see how a child can be diagnosed with autism and not be observed by the doctor in any way shape or form only based off our answers off the questionnaires we filled out. It was not a great experience at all.

Dr. Merola sat in her chair behind her desk for the whole evaluation of my 2 year old son. She did not once get up and try to play with him. The evaluation room is very small. She had given him 3 toys during the exam. A stuffed animal frog, a bell, and 3 small building blocks. I thought the toys were in poor condition and choices for play for a 2 year old. After giving us diagnosis she told us to research more on computer ourselves instead of really explaining anything or giving direction
