Dr. Zwiener is experienced, listens to patient’s concerns and discusses alternative therapies in detail.
We were seen on-time, all of the staff were friendly and kind. Dr Zwiener took the time to make my daughter comfortable and really understand everything that has been going on, he asked a lot of questions and listened to everything. I really appreciate the time and care he took with my daughter, and I’m very happy with the plan he has in place for her. I couldn’t recommend Dr Zwiener enough! Front desk receptionist is very rude. I was late to my sons appt 11 mins due to an incident. The receptionist stated I shouldn’t be late to my appointment. Now everyone knows their are life changing events that we can’t control that happens in life. I was very offended when the receptionist stated I shouldn’t have been late.

Dr. Zweiner is knowledgeable, compassionate, and excels at individualized care. I’m so thankful he was on rotation when we were in the hospital and that we have been able to follow up with him after.
Dr. Zweiner is absolutely fantastic! He really took his time to listen to my concerns and answer all of my questions. His bedside manner is impeccable. It was really great to have a doctor that didn't act like he was tapping his foot just waiting for a 10 minute time slot to end so he could just move us along with the rest of the herd. I would highly recommend him to any parent who is in need of a superb gastroenterologist for their child. Thank you sooooooo much Dr. Zweiner! ???? Dr. Zweiner is absolutely fantastic! Dr. Zweiner is wonderful. The check in process was a little clunky with confusion about whether to stay in the car until called to come in or to call from outside but it all works out. His nurse Izzy is also FANTASTIC ????
Dr. Zweiner had an excellent bedside manner. Since then, we have only done telemedicine appointments. He has been professional, courteous, and on time. My child felt calm in his presence. Surprisingly, and apparently getting more rare, his office staff were also polite and courteous. His nurses are wonderful, too.
Incredible doctor, saved my kids life. We went home without TPN when I'd been told over and over that my son might need it long term. That is 100%bc of DrZwiener. Great with the kids!
Dr. Zweiner is absolutely amazing. He treated my daughter as an infant, and we were quick to request him again now that she's a teenager and is dealing with some gastro issues. He has patient, kind, listens to gather information, asks the right questions, and is incredibly thorough. He has a gentle demeanor and really helps patients consider all the factors when making decisions. We couldn't be happier with his level of expertise and care! Dr. Zweiner is absolutely amazing. Our son has seen Dr. Zwiener for eight years. At a time when our son was diagnosed with Crohn's when he was eight, seeing two parents with a look of shock on their faces, Dr. Zwiener brought calmness and encouragement to us. We couldn't have asked for a better doctor. He has always thoroughly explained our son's situation, listened and accepted our input, and helped plan out what our son's best course of action for treatment was. His relationship with our son is amazing. He always has a great sense of humor with our son and always asks about his life and what he's up to. Our son is now 16, and we only have two more years to see Dr. Zwiener, and we will miss him. We couldn't possibly recommend a doctor more.
One of the best doctors in Austin. My son has a lot of medical issues making him a very complicated case. We see a lot of specialist and Dr. Zwiener has been one of the best Docs we've seen. He takes time, asks a lot of questions and is really passionate about understanding the patient. Although he focuses on GI he's very knowledgeable about other areas as well.
Extremely thorough and listens. Took the time to explain and didn’t dismiss symptoms or concerns. He is intense and serious but also warm and kind.
We were trying to advocate for our son to get a feeding tube because we knew he likely had a syndrome and would continue to have difficulty feeding. Dr. Zwiener refused to acknowledge our son's difficulties, saying that his inability to eat enough or gain adequate weight was our fault for allowing him to cluster feed and upping the calories in his formula. When Dr. Zwiener saw my son for the first time he had microcephaly, was eating far less than he should, and had abnormal physical features. He instead chose to spend our appointment flirting with my son's speech therapist, trying feebly to speak Spanish with her and saying what a lovely smile she had. When I tried to ask questions he would bark at me, telling me he was busy speaking with her or was not done explaining his (incredibly misguided) thoughts. 3 months later my son got a g-tube through a different hospital (thank God) and a few weeks after that received a diagnosis of a rare genetic mutation that indicated he would require assistance feeding for a minimum of at least 6 more years. If I had followed this doctor's advice (wait longer between feeds until he shows stronger cues - which my son is incapable of, reduce the calories in his formula, not to be concerned) my son may not be here today. Do NOT take your child to see this man - he is a hack who is resting on his laurels instead of actually fully assessing his patients. We saw Dr. Zweiner from the time my son was born 3 months premature until he was 3 years old. During this time, Dr. Zweiner repeatedly tried to ween my son off his reflux meds. He minimized my concerns and seemed to have little understanding of pediatric feeding issues. My son was refusing most foods and Dr. Zweiner sent in a nutritionist who talked to me about how to get my son eat more broccoli. The child was eating maybe 3-5 foods at the time. My son was under 3% on the growth chart and was vomiting several times a day. At one point, Dr. Zweiner suggested I was just a nervous preemie Mom. I asked Dr. Zweiner if my son needed to see a Speech therapist for feeding issues and he shrugged his shoulders and said, "what are they going to do." We saw a feeding therapist anyway who ultimately was very helpful. After THREE years, my pediatrician insisted on additional testing for the cause for the low weight. Dr. Zweiner did an endoscopy and came in and said "your son has angry and severe reflux and will need reflux meds." He has been on meds since then and we changed doctors immediately. Dr. Zweiner's nurse routinely did not return calls and was not kind. Overall, I can not recommend this practice or this Doctor. I'm grateful we now have a choice for GI practices in Austin. We love Dr. Zwiener and the staff! Been with them 5 years and have had nothing but great visits. Would highly recommend him and those around him.
I have been seeing Dr. Zwiener for 8 years and I can only say good things about him. He is understanding and extremely knowledgable about his field. He is caring and provides the best care one can expect. I've been grateful to have him as a doctor.
We went to Dr. Zwiener for a second opinion after getting not-so-great help from a different pediatric GI specialist. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Zwiener!! He's very detail oriented and really listens to your questions and concerns. He truly cares about his patients!!
Dr. Zwiener is amazing! He listens to everything I say, shares information to keep me not only informed but also educated on my son's condition. He's funny and compassionate, really connecting with his patients and their parents.

I love Dr. Zwiener. He's a wonderful doctor and very genuine person.
The world needs more dr zwieners. I can't say enough about him. He makes time for his patients, gives them his full attention and you feel confident in his diagnoses. Oh and great sense of humour and sweet, sweet man.
Dr. Zweiner has gone above and beyond in working with us and our daughter as we try to figure out what is going on with her. He has been patient, thorough, and considerate. Although my daughter's issues might not be directly G.I. related he never gave up trying to help us figure it out. I will always be grateful to him for his belief in us and continued support. Dr. Zwierner is the most contentious and thorough pediatric doctor I have encountered. He is completely profressional while at the same time completely personable if you initiate. He does not make you feel bad if you drop the ball on some aspect of your child's care and he has left no stone unturned in treating my daughter. The staff at his office is efficient and friendly. They always call to schedule follow up appointments. I highly recommend Dr. Zwiener.
Dr. Zwiener's office is efficient without a long wait. Dr. Zwiener related really well with my 11yo son. Very pleased with this experience.
