About Dr. Robert Lloyd Ruxer JR.
Reviews for Dr. Robert Lloyd Ruxer JR.
Everyone at Texas Oncology has been very friendly and professional.
During my visits, I meet Texas Oncology associates who are always friendly, helpful, caring, knowledgeable @ concerned with those they are attending. Great care is taken in administering medicines @ patients comfort. Comfortable, clean waiting areas.
Dr. Ruxer, and the whole team at Texas Oncology, for me, made a scary situation tolerable. They made me aware of the process, how my body would change, and what to expect at every phase of my treatment. Their combined knowledge, experience, and genuine compassion they show their patients is amazing. All the while they were fighting with me, even when it was not so pleasant updates, to help me be successful. Thank you Dr. Ruxer and the Fort Worth Texas Oncology team!
The medical staff is top notch. But the schedulers are terrible. To the point of being rude.
Dr. Ruxer has been my oncologist since 2004. He is very attentive, answers questions, an all around great doctor. He finds the treatment that is best for whatever cancer one may have.
Regular followup
Dr Ruxer has seen me successfully through three separate cancers. Would and have trusted him with my life.
Dr. Ruxer is very knowledgeable and personable.
Dr. Robert Ruxer is the most caring doctor that you could possibly have. Dr. Ruxer has been my oncologist for ten years and I can highly recommend him.
He is very thorough. I have some issues with my platelets and he has worked very hard to find the reason why.
Robert went over all of the items on my blood test along with a plan for taking care of the items that needed explanations.
Dr. Ruxer is an excellent doctor. He takes his job very seriously and I wouldn't think of trusting my care to anyone else. He knows his stuff.

Dr Ruxor always takes time and listens to you. He is very kind and I’m thankful he has been my Dr for 13 years! He is very knowledgable and takes good care of his patients.
Very knowledgeable, not a pill pusher , decent bedside manner. Will deliver a joke if he’s not rushed. And truly seems to really care about my well-being.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ruxer for about 14 years ever since he diagnosed me with CLL at a very early stage. My last rounds of Chemo was almost 9 years ago. The fact that my cancer has been in remission for 9 years, speaks to his professional knowledge. I could not have asked for anything more/better. He has always been friendly and curious toward me. I have been a patient for 6 years. I have found Dr.Ruxer caring, compassionate, honest and extremely helpful in navigating my journey.
He is concerned with my health needs and does his best to offer all options available.
I believe Dr. Ruxer is truly concerned for his patients health, treatmentsw and progress. He shows this in his interaction with me by taking the time to explain things that can be understood by a lay person.
Dr. Madrones left the Texas Oncology who was the one that originally treated me for Hairy Cell Leukemia. I truly miss her but I have enjoyed Dr. Ruxer as well. Good Dr. very personable.
Listens well, is very caring. Extremely knowledgeable.

Excellent in all respects
Six-month review.
Dr. Ruxer and I have been doing business together for the last 5+ years treating my MDS. I have learned a lot about blood and bone marrow and components of good blood versus bad blood. Dr. Ruxer and RN Jenifer West helped me deal with needing multiple blood transfusions and bone marrow biopsy's, to a place where now I only see them once every 6 months for routine blood work analysis now that my bone marrow is make good blood. Dr. Ruxer has always very professional, relaxed and friendly, even stopping and looking in on me while I was in the hospital for an unrelated issue.
Dr. Ruxer has the knowledge and experience to deal with my health issues and does so expertly. I would recommend him and staff without reservation.
All around Best Doctor!
Pleasant visit with Dr. Ruxer.
I find Dr. Ruxer very helpful and concerned. thank you.

Dr. Ruxer is a great oncologist. He is kind and caring, and takes time with me to discuss concerns and questions. He has referred me to other excellent physicians as needed, which increases my confidence.
ive had very good visits with dr. Ruxer hes been very helpful.
Dr RUXER was great. He explained to the results of the lab test and what I need to do from this point forward
Dr. Ruxer has always been extremely professional and driven by the data in my case. When I first met him, an incomplete tumor extraction had left me with a continuing possibility of metastasis. After removal of the affected kidney, he has been instrumental in monitoring for the possibility that my kidney cancer could have spread in the interval between the unsuccessful first surgery and the follow-up nephrectomy. I was referred to Dr. Ruxer by my internist of more than 20 years. He has been simply the most professional physician I could possibly want in my situation.
Dr Ruxer doesn’t rush your visit; he takes the time to listen to my concerns. I have been his patient for over 14 years.
I have been under the care of D. Ruxer for over a decade. HE always treats me with respect. Not only do we talk about my health, we talk about a multitude of things. He always gives me a sense of well being.
Visit was with Jennifer. Was very good visit as always with Jennifer.
Excellent care provided by Dr Ruxer
God Fearing, Honest, Caring, Compassionate, Spooky Smart… if you gotta do cancer, do it with Dr Ruxer!
I used Dr. Ruxer as my oncologist/hematologist for 3 years. I was very dissatisfied after he was extremely rude to me during two different visits. Recently, I had COVID and needed blood thinners because of my increased risk of forming blood clots. His nurse prescribed me medicine from his office and said I would need to see him after I quarantined so I could be weaned off the medication. When I arrived at his office for my appointment, he questioned why I was there, didn’t even remember I had had COVID at all, and said I wouldn’t need to be weaned off. When I asked him about his nurse telling me to see him after I quarantined, he very rudely said, “Well, my nurse isn’t the one in charge.” It was quite confusing. If you ever reschedule or are late to your appointment, EXPECT him to be very rude to you when you show up. He was not only rude to me, but also to my grandmother. I will not be going back and I highly recommend finding a different healthcare provider. I used Dr. Ruxer as my oncologist/hematologist for 3 years. I feel very fortunate to have Doctor Ruxer in charge of my cancer care. The level of confidence in my treatment and program could not be higher. And I am so pleased with the progress made and the outcome thanks to DR Ruxer and the entire staff at Texas Oncology!
I have been a patient for over ten years and have always received excellent care from Dr. Ruxer. He listens well to my concerns and responds quickly, in an emergency.
Very professionalism. Answers all my questions. Never feel he's rushing me.
Exceptional Dr pays attention to details and spends time listening. It’s was my best experience at the Dr office
Yes. He is thorough and up to date on treatment. I trust him completely.
I've visited Dr. Ruxor several times with no concerns. I knew there was a small bill. that I always pay on. The lady at the desk was insistent that I set a payment plan first. They have never sent me a bill or it would have been paid sooner. They get you right in which I appreciate. Other than a lecture from the Dr for not wearing my mask properly and not being afraid of the stupid virus It was fine
Always on top of testing.
Have been going to Dr Ruxer about 3 years He is an excellent Physician Always trying new protocols to help with my MDS Very calm and reassuring He keeps my spirits up when I am down
Dr Ruxer has been my Oncologist for eight years I am alive because of him.

Gave up on me. Recommended hospice...a little early I thought
He cared for my father at the end of his life. He was rude arrogant and didn’t deal well with me. My dad liked him but he didn’t ask question and was used to just trusting that the doctor knew best. I had done treatment at MD Anderson and was used to being an important part of my care team. He didn’t like that. So maybe if you don’t want to understand your treatment options and want someone to just tell you what to choose he’s your man.

Dr. Ruxer is a kind, caring, knowledgeable doctor that I would highly recommend. He has treated me for almost two years, in which time I had blood transfusions, fluids, sepsis and sinusitis during my cancer treatment. He visited me daily while I was in the hospital and even called me personally to give me test results. He was highly recommended to me by a friend and I would highly recommend him as well.

This doctor is of the lowest order of medical professionals. His dismal bedside manner is indicative of his loathsome attitude toward patients and their families. Dr. Ruxer is the type of doctor who waits for death rather than actually treating the patients who are unfortunately under his "care." Past medical history is irrelevant to him due to a sorely misplaced "God complex" that leads him to immediately discount any and all previous medical care not administered by himself.
