I never write reviews but after the visit with this office and Dr Supler I felt I had to do a review! This does not even deserve one star! Probably my fault should have read their reviews before I went. I have been in severe pain and to the point I can barely walk! I was told by three different doctors that I need to see a spine Dr. After receiving my MRI results. Dr. Supler is the one that called me back they had no medical staff except for the receptionist I was in his office maybe five minutes he acted like he could care less like I was a burden to him for even being there! He told me to get an MRI of my hip that he could not help me I said what would my hip have to do with pain in the middle of my back . He would not even go over the results from the MRI if this guy is the chief of surgery at health Central he needs to find a new profession! Don't go there people! Dr Masson is a top Neurosurgeon overachiever. I had two surgeries a spinal fusion and a synthetic disc replacement. He is a passionate professional who only has your best interest on his mind. He is a top minimum invasive surgeon who has performed thousands of cervical and spine surgeries successfully. His PA Wayne could probably be a Neurosurgeon himself. What PA is in the surgery room with Dr Masson. His team is flawless and overly confident. The best of everything is here.

Where do I start, was referred to this doctor by my primary care, they are in the same system. Called for an appointment, got voice mail, saying to send email to Luz, did this requesting appointment, received an email next day asking what insurance I had and did I have am MRI, replied with info ands stating I had an mri from 2yrs ago., received another email from her saying get an mri and then contact them again. I thought about this , they did not have the decency to at least call me back and talk to me, then just tell me to get an mri, I would have though this would be ordered by this doctor based on a physical exam done by them to determine the specifics for the test, maybe I am wrong but their lack of empathy or compassion leaves a lot to be desired. I would NOT recommend Dr. Masson. Not sure why I even have to give him 1 star. He performed neck surgery on my Father in August. My Dad was under the impression that he would stay at the hospital 72-hours post-surgery. Instead he was sent home the next day. Dad had major complications the night he was discharged. Instead of having him come straight back in for evaluation, Masson's office prescribed muscle relaxers and prescribed an incorrect Rx for steroids. Dad had a heart attack that night, was placed in an induced coma for 48-hours, and subsequently died due to a massive hemorrhage at the surgical site (which caused the cardiac event and depletion of oxygen to the brain). There was a severe lack of urgency and care. My Father died unnecessarily and way too soon. My heart is broken. I would NOT recommend Dr. Masson. Not sure why I even have to give him 1 star. He did not do a nice job. He damaged my spinal cord and caused spinal fluid leakage and I went through hell. Didn’t have the compassion to check on me. Very disappointed

Not responsive...whatsoever. I needed to have back surgery and wanted a second option and was referred to Dr. Masson as “one of the best” and started reaching out December 2020. After 5 separate reach outs through March 2021 via his website and emails as well, I never once heard back. I even received the auto-reply stating “THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUBMISSION. PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 48 HOURS FOR A RESPONSE.” each time; yet still, not a peep. What horrible customer service.

As a physician, I am extremely critical of other physicians. I went to another excellent Neurosurgeon who left practice, but he recommended Dr. Masson. He performed surgery on me. His brilliance, intelligence, grasp of Medicine and Surgery, and honesty all impressed me. He also thinks outside the "box", and as is an excellent physician, goes by the adage "do no harm". Important today, as I see the lack of knowledge in so many physicians!!

Have tried for 3 weeks to get someone to return a voicemail, email and internet request. No one has called back. So frustrating that communication lacks with this facility.

Dr Masson performed 3 reconstructive surgeries after a staph infection from the first surgery by another physician in March, 2016 which partially destroyed L3-L5. I survived the infection. I'm dearly grateful for care i received from Dr Masson and the staff.

I dont know about how the Doctor is because I never got to see him. I made my appointment as a new patient about 6 weeks ago. I was referred to him by two past patients. I have long term severe back pain, making it almost impossible to walk or bend at times. I was really hopeful about this visit. After getting to the front desk this is how the conversation went: Desk: Do you have an appointment. Me: Yes. Desk: What is your name, I gave it. Desk: I need your paperwork insurance and ID, and your films. Me: records were supposed to have been sent over a few weeks ago. Desk: OK, let me look. (30 seconds later), no I dont see anything. Where did you have the MRI done. Me: St Augustine Imaging. Desk: Yeah I cant access that site, we are going to have to reschedule, it is your responsibility to bring the records. Me: Wait a minute, I just drove 2 hours to get here. Desk: Well he can see you but without the actual pictures its worthless. Me: (close to tears) Fine give me my ID back. You know, my son in law passed away earlier this week, your certainly not making things easier for me. Desk: (In a monotone voice, with the sincerity of a rock) and I swear this is exactly what she said, Sorry bout that, I can resch...I cut her off right there and yelled "Dont, Dont even say it. I went running out the door totally in tears now. But the worse thing was..the funeral home suggested Friday for the funeral. And my daughter is waiting until Monday, because she knew how much pain I am in, and did not want me to miss this appointment. I dont know about how the Doctor is because I never got to see him. The staff is very efficient ,professional and caring . My procedure went smoothly and the staff at the surgery center made my short stay there comfortable . Dr Masson spent all the time I asked for prior to my procedure .

Dr Masson did my Spinal fusion in 2016. He and his PAs are wonderful. They explained the procedure and made me feel real comfortable. The surgery was successful. I highly recommend.

I have been going to see Dr Masson since 2013. Let’s start with the office staff. The professionalism, job knowledge and compassion for its clients is second to none. Ellie and Christy have been so awesome for me. I make a call and it’s taken care of in a timely manner. Communication skills are great as well. Know Dr Masson, Wayne and Charlie are an awesome team. I will say Dr Masson has given me a new life. I had a major surgery after I was diagnosed as a carrier for MRSA. Dr Masson operated on me for almost 3 hours of surgery. He rebuilt my vertebrae and repaired my upper cervical. I will say this. He saved my life! I was so blessed to have one of, if not the best surgeon to be there in this crucial time. I am very grateful for the level of professional, compassionate, and exceptional care I received from the Masson Spine Institute. Dr. Masson and his office and surgical staff are about as good as you get. The team is responsive and available. They build great relationships with their patients and are all very dedicated to providing the best level of care that technology has to offer. I had a rather robust lower back procedure, but was on my feet that afternoon, with a minimal and fast healing incision, and short healing time.

Dr Masson and PA's Wayne and Charlie have been exceptional in taking care of me. As a team they have performed a multilevel lumbar fusion and bilevel cervical fusion. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone in need of spinal evaluation. I believe you will be in good hands start to finish. The office staff was always kind and considerate to me as a patient.

10 weeks after surgery I have pain in right leg that did not hurt at all before surgery. all they did was tell me to take another oxy which Dr wright the pain DR they sent me to all he has done is changed me to another pain pill that has not brought any help.

Dr Masson staff are pleasant, people. Wished I would have went to him before previous surgeries. I would recommend him to any that needs surgery.

I went to many different specialists for my back, Jewitt to name one, and they couldn't help me. But Dr. Supler helped me pinpointed the pain areas. I had the SI Joint fusion procedure by him and my back feels 100% better. I still have issues with my L5 S1 area and we are going to work on this next. The staff is also extremely efficient, no wait visits, appointment reminders, email correspondence, therapy right next door. It's really a very great experience. I can't say enough good things about them. THANKS!!!!

We didn’t get to a point where we could make an appointment because Dr Masson’s receptionist KNEW EVERYTHING without knowing anything & kept interrupting me & talking over me! I am a retired medical assistant, I called to make an appointment for my adult son itch a history of back pain with back surgery who is having severe back pain. He has previously had surgery. His previous surgeon doesn’t accept his current insurance.

Beware. Dr. Masson did a L3-S1 Spinal Fusion in Feb. 2017 at Health Central, the area budget hospital where my experience was not positive. The surgery was not successful. There was originally retrolisthesis at L2-L3 which Dr. Masson would not treat at the time of the surgery. Now, I have to have a repair fusion surgery of L2-S1 due to the fact that I have a pseudoarthrosis (non-union) of the fusion between L5 and S1, a loose screw and fractures in S1, and a worsening of the retrolisthesis at L2-L3. The repair surgery will be done by an orthopaedic surgeon at a different hospital. Beware. My father had surgery on July 13th of 2018. Even though another doctor recommended that he wait 6 weeks to have the surgery, Dr. Masson assured him that it could be done safely. Needless to say, the surgery took longer than anticipated and he mentioned that he had some trouble throughout the process. My father ended up in the hospital on 3 separate occasions post-op, meanwhile all of his symptoms and concerns were neglected. I would not recommend this doctor nor the health central hospital in Ocoee, FL. My father passed away in the middle of the night on July 23rd, promptly, 10 days after his surgery and still being in “recovery.” My father had surgery on July 13th of 2018. I went to Dr. Masson a few years back. I had been thru 2 surgeries from another Neuro-surgeon that didn't go well and got no help. Dr. Massons office had me come in quickly (.It took 10 mths of calling different Drs. to find one that would see me) The PA went over the same x-rays the other surgeon saw and asked, when did my spine collapse ? I told him , I didn't know it had.The other neuro said, The problem was muscle. The PA at Masson's had me go for more MRI's and made an appt. for me to come back . I had all 3 PA's in the room , Plus, Dr. Masson's associate and another person. He apologized for what the other Drs. had put me thru. he said, he couldn't make me 100% , but I would be better. I trusted him to at least try. The Only Complaint I have is.....I Never got to talk with Dr. Masson , After the surgery. I wanted to know what exactly he did. I was told by Tara that he spoke with me after the surgery. Bad thing is, the ONLY time I remember talking with him was at the appointment before the surgery.Tara said, IF you aren't having problems , you won't see him again. I mentioned to her about the Pain I was in.The pain is worse than it was after the 2nd surgery. She kinda brushed it off as , I Had been thru 3 back surgeries.Had I known that. I NEVER would have had him do the surgery. I couldn't get much info on what all had been done except the rods , screws from the 2nd surgery were removed. ( I had the bag of them). It was 6 mths ago , that my pain mgt Dr, did MRI's and found out that the horrible pain I have been in is because , nothing was fixed on the right side of my spine where the rods etc. were removed and a spacer type part was put in where the spine collapsed on the left side. It's No wonder I have been in so much pain, I almost don't care if I wake up. My Recommendation is : ASK IF You will see your Surgeon at your First Post Op visit. Dr Masson and his staff are amazing. They are knowledgeable, courteous and most of all caring. Always recommend Dr Masson to everyone with back issues. I drove from volusia county to see him and would do it again without hesitation.

I got 3 opinions and Dr. Masson was the only doctor who also said I had a cyst on one of my vertebrae. From exhilarating pain of all different varieties to completely pain free. Dr. Masson was wonderful as was Tara, and Wayne. His entire staff was a pleasure. I highly recommend him!

The level of care that I received from Dr Masson, his PA Wayne, his Nurses, Tech’s and Staff was excellent! They all have a terrific “bedside manner” and treated me with great care. My surgery was a success and my recovery was as advertised. No surprises! Thank God for the Masson Spine Institute!

The staff is Awesome! All the wonderful ladies are kind, caring, helpful, and patient! They helped me through a very difficult surgery and recovery and go above and beyond. Wayne Dr Masson's assistant is also a kind and caring man whom I thank for all his help. Dr Masson is also kind and caring, never making me feel rushed at an appointment and really listening to every thing I said. And when it came time for the surgery, he was their telling me everything was going to be alright.

Dr. Masson and his staff are EXCELLENT! The ladies in the front office are very pleasant and helpful. I wish I would have known about his practice before having 3 surgeries.

About 8 years ago Dr. Masson completed replacement of 2 herniated vertibral discs (c5-c7). The surgery & recovery all went as expected. I’ve been problem free since.

My mother went to see Dr. Masson and was treated very rudely and disrespectfully by his secretary staff. They made her feel terrible when all she needed was assistance with severe pain in her back. My mother will never go back to this doctor’s office again.

Great experience all the way around. Had a micro discetomy done by Dr Masson and his team. I'm 2 days post op and feel better than I expected. All of his staff and the staff of Health Central were great. I couldn't have asked for better treatment. Would recommend Dr Masson to anyone. Thank you Neurospine Institute! Class Act Surgeon, and office staff is running a well-oiled machine! I saw Dr. Masson before and after my microdiscectomy at L5-S1. Since I work in the medical field in sales, I understand that it is protocol that his PA's (who are all phenomenal btw) do the initial consult. Many people come in wanting a quick fix without trying non-surgical interventions such as physical therapy, transforaminal injections etc. Dr. Masson you must remember, is a world class surgeon, one of the finest in the country, so people must realize he has to delegate in the appropriate manner so he can focus on his current surgeries and patients. It's all a process and if you understand that, you will be fortunate enough to have this brilliant surgeon perform your surgery. I am pain free after 9 months of relentless nerve pain thanks to this wonderful man, I now have my life back!!!! Dr. Masson also is big on post rehab and putting the onus also on the patient to develop healthy exercise habits and put all the old bad habits to rest ensuring they will benefit an excellent clinical outcome from his work. The first told me in five minutes he saw nothing on my scans and I left there crying. It's good to finally have a professional who will do surgery so I can get my life back.

This is the most amazing neurosurgeon I have ever encountered. He is caring, compassionate and loves life and what he does. This comes across with every encounter. He is a brilliant surgeon and a superior human being. LOVE THIS SURGEON! His PA Tara also has been an awesome colleague who carefully listens to all concerns and will go over and above to ensure her patients needs are understood and taken care of. I didn’t know another spine surgeon and Dr. Masson was recommended to me while I was in Health Central Hospital. You only meet or speak to Dr. Masson one time, before surgery and never again. You only deal with his PA. After the surgery he doesn’t come see you to tell you how it went or show you new scans to confirm that surgery was a success. I. Glad he has a good reputation cause that’s all you have to go on.

Dr. I suffered from a herniated disc at the L5-S1 for over 9 months and went through PT, transforaminal injections and medication, nothing gave me relief. Surgery was a last resort and it got to a point where the nerve pain was so bad that I succumbed to surgery. Well, I am so glad I did...because I came out of surgery pain free!! I have all the respect in the world for a PA, but if they are so proud of them, why not tell me that when my appointment was made??? Why pretend my appointment was with Dr. Masson? When the Dr. that did my lamen and fusion wouldn't take care of the NEW problem, Iwas in so much pain , I didn't care if I woke up. I called about 15 Drs and none would touch the prior surgeries. I was given Dr. Robert Massons name. I had an appt in a week. The fusion I had just had, failed (another surgeon did )I had fought with this for 14 mths. within 45 days , Dr. Masson did surgery and I feel like living again. I Just can't say enough about Dr. Masson. He Truly CARES ! HE'S MY HERO !!

When we went to Dr. Robert Masson's office to discuss spinal surgery. He answered our questions and made us very comfortable about trusting him with my back. C1-3 had the disc removed and cadaver bone used, with brace and screws put in place. He told me he thought I would be 5-10% out of pain. At our week check up after surgery I was 95% out of pain! I have DDD so Dr. Masson has performed surgery on me several times...each time I was restored to health and ease of movement.

In the end, Dr. Masson opted against surgery (he stated it might do more harm than good), and set me up with a PT next door. This is a type of personalized, focused care I had almost forgotten about. I was half-expecting the five-minute exam, where the office cares more about your insurance carrier than you, followed by a quick scheduling for surgery. Not here. This place is a joke and I don't recommend it to no one. I went there for my 2nd appt, drove over 1h to get there then the front desk girl ask me to have a seat in the waiting room. After 50 minutes seating in the room the front desk girl comes back to tell me the doctor was not available. She reschedule my appt and I had to wait another week to see the doctor and on the day of the appt again I'm told that I wasn't going to see my doctor but a different doctor. What a joke!!!!
