Robert Galiano

I implore you to find another plastic surgeon. Perhaps this is the person to go to if you need a breast augmentation, but if you need closure from MOS surgery/basal cell carcinoma, DO NOT LET the MOS surgeons refer you over to Dr. Galiano. Dr. Galiano made an unnecessary incision starting between my eyebrows all the way down the side of my nose to the nostril, where the MOS surgery had been done, and a tiny basal cell carcinoma removed. This would have been an area of a few centimeters. Instead, without any preparation, consent, or forewarning, this doctor makes a three inch incision across my face requiring approximately 20 stitches. All to close a wound of a few centimeters in length. Perhaps this is how it is done, but how would I know? Dr. Galiano said nothing and was dictating notes about other patients' breast augmentations to a scribe during my surgery. I cannot make this up. It was the end of the day after I waited two hours to see him after enduring 3 MOS surgeries all day, no lunch, or mention that I would have to wait. He left me promptly after surgery, and the nurse had to deal with my shock and trauma at the sight of my face after he was finished with me. I have filed a complaint with patient relations at Northwestern and asked the office administrators to have the doctor call me to explain whey he did what he did to me, why he didn't prepare me for what he did to me, and why he was multi-tasking during my surgery. This was a month ago and there has been no reply. Find another place to deal with your cancer and closure is my advice based on a nightmare experience at Northwestern University Medical Center.

Dr. Galiano and his whole team are incredibly professional, patient, and kind. His bedside manor is really warm and caring. His nurses are wonderful and his assistant, Anna, is amazing. They are so good at communicating and responding promptly, especially after my surgery. Dr. Galiano takes into account what you want aesthetically, along with what he can do for you to guarantee the best results. After researching plastic surgeons for more than two years, I decided to have a breast reduction with Dr. Galiano. I even traveled from out of state for my office visits and surgery. It was worth every mile! Dr. Galiano and his team (including R.N. Ellie) are first-rate, from explaining the procedure to setting realistic expectations for the recovery period to making themselves available for my questions before and since the surgery. Dr. Galiano is patient and kind, addressed all my concerns and, most importantly, is an extremely skilled surgeon. At five weeks post surgery, I am still healing but already very pleased with the results as well as the huge physical and psychological relief I have gotten from the reduction. My only regret is that I didn't pursue having this procedure with Dr. Galiano and his team 10 years ago!

I spent two years researching breast reduction surgery, risks, benefits etc. before I decided to go with Dr. Galiano. Besides being such a sweet surgeon, his work is phenomenal and I highly recommend!! He was honest & upfront about the recovery process -and from my first consultation to now 2 weeks post op, his office has been outstanding. I had a very good experience with Dr. Galiano for my breast reduction surgery. He listened to me, understood my concerns and really put me at ease about my surgery. I felt comfortable with him as my surgeon and he did an AMAZING job. I am so happy with the results. It has changed my life. If I ever need anything from a plastic surgeon again, I would not hesitate to go back to Dr. Galiano.

Saw this doctor once for a consult and decided to seek a different provider. Turns out their practice has a non compete clause so no other doctor there would see me if I already “established care” with one of them.there is no way to be released from this established care either. What kind of nonsense is that.

I am so thankful I chose Dr.Galiano for my tummy tuck journey. He’s Simply caring and honest and one of the nicest surgeons I have ever met that doesn’t care about just your money. Also thankful for the amazing nurses at the hospital and his staff, they where all wonderful with me.

Dr. Galiano and his staff are some of the most incredible people that I know. They have all taken the time to make me feel comfortable in my own skin and are always willing to answer questions, not just days that I have appointments, but when I think of them while I am at home as well. Dr. Galiano has made me gain so much more confidence both times I have had my breast augmentation 8 years a part. Both times I healed to perfection. Dr. Galiano and his team are incredible. They took exceptional care of me during a difficult time. I had a basal cell carcinoma (skin cancer) on my face removed and it left a sizable wound. I was sent to Dr. Galiano after my surgery to be stitched up. He put in 22 stitches & said it would take a year to completely heal. It has been 7 months since the surgery & thanks to Dr. Galiano's meticulous work, my scar has healed beautifully. The results are remarkable and the scar is undetectable! I would recommend Dr. Galiano over and over again. The care I received from him and his team was incredible from the first email I sent, to surgery and all of my follow up appointments. I had a medical double breast reduction and I was extremely nervous before even scheduling my consult. Within minutes of my first consult I knew I made the best choice in doctors. Dr. Galiano really listened to every concern my mother and I had, and every question was welcomed. He made me feel incredibly comfortable, and in the right hands from consult to surgery to post-op. Dr. Galiano and his team are consummate professionals who delivered an upscale, outstanding experience from first consult through last post-op visit. I am absolutely thrilled with my results and will recommend him to anyone looking for a superior plastic surgeon in Chicago. He and his team are attentive to patient needs and responsive to concerns. I had the absolute worst experience with Dr. Galiano. I had 2 breast augmentations (the second because he said he didn't do what he should have, he did not charge for his portion of that surgery but I should never have ket him do another surgery on me). Each time I had issues, expressed them to him, and he dismissed them and told me I had "thin skin" and there was nothing he could do. When in fact he should have never done them over the muscle if my skin was so "thin" I now have to have a 3rd breast augmentations because I have complications and need the implants out. He has horrible bed side manner, completely dismissed that I was un happy and balling in his office and then proceeded to tell me I had to go back and take more pictures for him, since there were complications he could use them. From the initial appointment to the surgery itself, and all post-op follow ups, I have to say I was thrilled with Dr. Galiano. He answered all of me and my mother's questions completely, and made me feel like the procedure would really enhance my life and was the right choice for me now. The surgery was seamless, and a lot less painful than I expected. The results were immediately apparent, and after 2 months of healing, I could not be more pleased. When I met Dr Galiano, he made me feel comfortable, described my treatment plan in detail, asked what questions I had. The surgery was exactly what he said, was carried out, precise and consistent with everything he indicated would occur. The outcome was excellent. His surgical nurse, Sarah, was outstanding, extremely knowledgeable and managed the entire process with great competence. She performed her duties at a very high level.

My leg was crushed in an accident. Dr. Galiano did the skin grafting that saved it. His work was totally successful. He was always tremendously competent, compassionate and extraordinarily kind. A great surgeon and physician throughout a long and traumatic ordeal - I am fortunate he was assigned to care for me!

I had a breast reduction surgery with this Dr. Galvani and am very unhappy with the results one year post op. Before surgery I was very clear that I wanted to be much smaller. I am still a size D and much larger than I want to be.

Now that I have entered my 30s I recently noticed some changes in my face and body that got me thinking that it was time to consider some preventive maintenance. Being a busy mom, any sort of procedure will be a real treat for me, and I definitely did my homework. I looked at multiple plastic surgeons by where I live, but did not feel like they were a good fit for me since they tried to convince me I needed surgery, which I am not ready for at this point. I was impressed by Dr. Galiano’s reviews, enough that on one of my trips home to Chicago I made an appointment to meet with him. I was even more impressed by how attentive he was during our consultation. He listened to my concerns, did not rush through the appointment, and took the time to answer all of my questions. I explained to him that for now all I really wanted was to try some botox to soften some forehead wrinkles, and he agreed that this was the only procedure (plus a skin care regimen) that I actually would benefit from at this time. I did not expect him to call me a few days after the procedure, but he did, just to make sure I liked my results. He took the time to reassure me that all will be well, and he and his staff showed great empathy and care each week I went for my wound debridement. He made an uncomfortable procedure go easily and well, and from the moment I met him, I knew I was in good hands. Dr Galiano is amazing. I had contemplated liposuction/tummy tuck for at least 2-3 years prior to moving forward with meeting with surgeons. I finally decided I was ready in the fall of 2016. Dr. Galiano was the 2nd surgeon I met with (he was recommended by a friend who had liposuction done by him) and I knew right away he was the doctor for me. He spent a great deal of time with me during my first consultation and explained in detail exactly what he would be doing during the surgery. He was very upfront with my husband and I about what the recovery would be like. I became very nervous leading up to the surgery and he actually called me at home on a Sunday evening to talk through some of my fears. His entire staff is amazing. I can't say enough great things about Robyn and Sarah. I am now 8+ weeks post op and my results are A++. I had zero complications during the surgery and have been healing quite well, all a testiment to how careful and conscientious Dr. Galiano is during the procedure. Dr. Galiano did a terrible facelift surgery for me that required revision surgery with another surgeon. This entire ordeal cost me pain, humiliation, and a lot of money. He dismissed my concerns as unfounded. Based on the reviews, Dr. Galiano may be good with breast surgeries. However, if somebody plans a facelift, perhaps he/she should ask him first to look at patients who underwent this procedure with him. Unless he has many successful facelifts under his belt, one should be careful.

I was referred to Dr. Galiano from my orthopedic surgeon, from the first moment i received my first consultation Dr. Galiano explained everything i needed to know and took him time to make sure that not only did i understand the treatment I was going through but listened to my concerns and made sure I wasn't left feeling alone along the way. I'm 10 days post OP for my breast reduction. Although I'm healing I'm so happy with my results. Dr. Galliano is a soft spoken kind doctor who seems equally as happy that soon in would be without back pain. He took great care in my reconstruction and at 46 my breast are now perfect. His staff and assistant Robin handled submitting my information to the insurance company and got the aprroval. Dr. Galliano and his team.....100 stars

I have not had a good experience with Dr. Galiano. I have found his post surgical care to be indifferent and cavalier and my result has not been good.
