I cannot imagine a better physician!

Dr Paustian refused a referral and associated analysis of my heart condition. He wanted me to start from scratch and throw out the EKG and month-long heart monitor results for no reason.

Echocardiogram and follow-up visit

I’ve experienced chest discomfort and flutters. I was given a device called a Zio Patch to wear for 2 weeks. It fell off the first time 30 minutes after it was put on. The clinic told me to call the Zio help line. Over 2.5 days it fell off numerous times despite adding new tape including falling off while sleeping. The Zio helpline had me send it in. They billed me over $500 for reading the results and said there was enough data for processing. Dr. Paustian’s office didn’t address any of that concern - they just told me call the Zio help line. After wearing the defective gadget only 2.5 days and reattaching it multiple times when I was supposed to wear it 14 days, I have zero confidence the results are accurate and I’m still experiencing flutters and sometimes jolts of stabbing pain. I can’t afford to pay hundreds of dollars to re-do a new test. I’m thoroughly disappointed I didn’t receive healthcare - I was directed to the help-line phone center for a junky gadget that wouldn’t stay properly attached. I could have called dial a nurse and received the same level of care without spending hundreds of dollars.

My opinion as well as all my MANY other doctors consider Dr. Paustian as the best cardiologist in Helena. I just moved to Clyde Park so I am having to change most of my doctors, but I will continue to make the 100+ mile trip to Helena to see Dr. Paustian.

Dr. Paustian was extremely thorough and attentive. He gave me a lot of helpful information that I have not been able to understand from my previous cardiologists in Washington state.

After cardiac arrest in the ER, Dr. Paustian recsuscitated me twice, diagnosed a clogged artery, installed a stent and saved my life. Five years later, I continue my life as an avid hiker and backpacker. OK? 'Nuff said.

He tells it like it is, but his decisions are solid and I have absolute faith in his knowledge and skills
