Dr. Kim is amazing! When I had severe pain going down my left leg, I knew something wasn't right. I contacted my neurologist who ordered a MRI. I was called immediately to contact a surgeon. I did not hesitate to contact Dr. Kim whom did my neck surgery six years prior with great results. When I brought in my MRI, he shared with me that I had had apiece of my disc break off and go into a nerve, in another disc area. Surgery was a must because I couldn't even lift my leg. Within a week of my decision to do it and cancel my Christmas party of 26 people, I went forward. After surgery, my pain was immediately gone! I couldn't believe it. Amanda at the center was also incredible in explaining what to expect. I highly recommend the DISC Center for spinal injuries. Thank you all for your expertise to the max!

Dr. Kim is a very good Surgeon he will only operate on you when it's absolutely necessary. He cares for the patient.

Dr. Kim is awesome! He answered all my questions, and put all of my anxieties and fear to rest. I had very little post operative pain, and recovered very quickly.

I had the choice of an "ortho" surgeon or a "neuro" surgeon. I could not be happier with my choice of Dr. Kim ! He not only listens to his patients, he is a skilled surgeon and took care of my complicated lumbar problems. Thank you Dr. Kim

Dr. Kim is a phenomenal and caring surgeon! I am so grateful to have come across his information during a crisis situation while I was visiting my brother in California. I was admitted to the hospital with numbness in my waist and severe back pain. The surgeon at the hopsital I was at was insisting on doing a surgery that had nothing to do with my presenting concerns. Concerned, I searched for a 2nd opinion and I was able to meet with Dr. Kim. As I shared my concerns, he listened carefully and went above and beyond to take on my case. After going through a lot of red tape to transfer hospitals, Dr. Kim operated on my back on Christmas Eve! I am about 8 weeks post op and feel great. The numbness is improving every week which is a really good sign given I have another year to see how my nerves recover after being compressed so severely. This doctor viewed some older MRI results on my back and ordered a new MRI. He told me about some "black dots" appearing on my spine. He said they were growths pushing this way and that. He said, "not to worry," if they do not respond they can be surgically removed. Later he prescribed an oral steroid for spasms in my back. When I asked for a refill, I was advised I must come there. In the meantime, another doctor sent Dr. Kim two MRI's indicating a tear in both of the rotator cuffs. During this visit for a refil, Dr. Kim saw these two MRI scans of my shoulders. Then he said that I could not have a refill and there was no reason to return to see him as the pain I was enduring "has to be the two shoulders." He was no help, but he could send a bill. At a time of great stress and pain Dr. Kim Kind and considerate with a caring eye towards my mental and physical condition. When I saw Dr. Kim 12 years ago I was in depilating pain with no quality of life. I had already had an emergency L5 S1 surgery with a different surgeon 4 years prior with little relief. I couldn't walk without assistance into my appointment with Dr. Kim. He performed surgery that night with completely different results than my prior surgery. The relief I had after Dr. Kim did my surgery was night and day from my previous experience. Picking the right surgeon is crucial to get the best results. He is incredibly gifted and I couldn't be more grateful to him. I've lived a much better and healthy life because of him. I missed my in person appointment and Dr Kim reached out to me so we could complete the virtual online appointment. Dr Kim gave me the feeling he is seasoned professional with years of experience in his field. I felt in good hands under his care. He is prompt, thorough, responsive and concerned. I had three cervical spinal surgeries performed by Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim was at all times professional, caring and responsive to my questions and concerns. He is a reserved and soft-spoken person who I believe some patients misconstrue as being non-caring and cold - not at all the case. My suggestion to new or any repeat patients: write your questions and concerns down before your appointment with Dr. Kim. I underwent a SI Joint Fusion and 15 months later a Lumbar Laminectomy of L4, L5, and S1. Both surgeries were successful and have helped me resume a more normal lifestyle. Great doctor with excellent results

I love that am seen right away. Dr kim is professional. He wont take up a lot of your time. Straight to the issue & the resolutions. He fixed my neck by conducting a cervical c4 c5 with hardware fusion. I feel way better. Only been 3 months.

Surgery Coordinator Amanda has provided an excellent service to me by insuring that all pre-surgery,/post-surgery setup was done appropriately and on time. Pre-surgery staff has perfectly prepared me for the surgery. Post-surgery has been an extraordinary experience. Nurse Judy took extraordinary care of me. I took only one pill for pain relief right after surgery, and that was all needed. The first day after surgery I was able to walk around my house with zero pain. Dr Kim has been absolutely amazing from the very first appointment! I herniated a thoracic disc and we did not rush straight to surgery. We tried conservative treatments but shortly it became obvious that things were not getting better but worse. Dr Kim suggested we do a fusion and I immediately agreed due to the complete faith I have in him. I have had some post op pain which is normal and his office staff Amanda and Dr Kim himself has been absolutely amazing and they make you feel like you are their only patient and always listen and take your concerns seriously. I couldn't be more happy with the level of care I received from the entire staff at Dr. Kim's office. I am currently an active duty service member and that made my process a little more complicated than normal yet their office handled it with ease and assisted me so perfectly I couldn't have possibly received better care anywhere else. Everyone was very professional and extremely nice, especially Amanda who helped me with the scheduling of everything and helping with my military documents. I have never written an online review, but my experience with Dr. Kim and his staff was so extraordinary that I thought it was important to share my experience. Several years ago, I was told that I needed surgery on my neck. I had seen an orthopedic specialist and had my surgery scheduled. A friend told me to postpone my surgery until I got a 2nd opinion from her neurosurgeon. She told me he was the best and did a fabulous job on her back. My friend is an athlete and she said that Dr. Kim had her back on her feet within a few short weeks. So I made the appointment to see Dr. Kim. Needless to say, I never went back to my orthopedist specialist. After my initial visit, I immediately scheduled my surgery with Dr. Kim. He is very patient and listens carefully to what you have to say. He explains things in a way that is easy to understand. Dr. Kim and his staff are the most caring and efficient group of medical personnel. At most doctors’ offices you can wait up to 60 minutes before seeing the doctor, but not here. Dr. Kim’s office runs so efficiently that you leave wondering why every doctor’s office can’t be like this one. Scheduling convenient appointment times was never a problem. If you have any questions or concerns, Dr. Kim’s Practice Coordinator, Amanda, is always available and is extremely responsive to all requests. If you have to file any medical paperwork with your employer or the state, Amanda takes the worry out of your hands. My surgery was a success and the entire experience was a very positive one. His confidence gave me confidence for the cervical spine surgery he performed on March 28, 2018.My surgery was very successful, I feel better than before and you have to look for incision scar on my neck and its only been 10 weeks! Do not use this doctor. Get another opinion. His immediate suggestion was spine surgery when I was cured with physical therapy. Even an epidural would have been better than his suggestion to go through the front of my throat to get to my spine. I had 3 doctors say he was too eager to do surgery.

Dr. Richard B. Kim is the right hand of God. It's is just the way I feel. He is not only a kind, patient, soothing, comforting physician, he actually listens to the patient, something that is rare. He understood my frustration of finding a doctor that would actually help me, as I had been "turfed" by 5 others who didn't want to even touch the mess. He also kept my brother alive 9 years longer, due to his skilled surgery and a Clinical trial he got him into. I am forever grateful for that.

Awesome results on the surgery that Dr. Kim performed on me recently. I have suffered for thirty plus years with chronic pain in my back and legs. Dr. Kim performed a partial Laminectomy on my L3/4 and L4/5 areas and my life has been sooo much better ever since the surgery. He is the only surgeon who saw the issue immediately and provided the least invasive approach to solve the issue. He is kind, gentle and does a great job explaining the situation and process. I Had a 3 level cervical fusion with Dr Kim about 3 yrs ago he is very kind, compassionate Dr. just what I needed unfort I have a lot more spine issues if I ever decide to get more surgery I will def go to Dr. Kim I had PTSD from other surgeries Dr Kim is the perfect dr for that he is soft spoken and calm ..first thing he said to me is"you must be in a lot of pain" I really appreciated everything he did for me

Dr. Kim was the most skilled, caring surgeon I could imagine. He answered all of my questions fully and accurately. In the 2 years since my surgery, my health has gone from abysmal, where my physical health from my ruptured disk was so bad that I could barely manage just surviving with constant extreme pain despite limiting all physical movement as much as possible, to where I am doing everything that I used to do before my injury -- skiiing, surfing, mountain biking, swimming, etc.

Dr. Kim has been my neurosurgeon since August, 2014. To date, he's performed 3 surgeries on me (2 spine, 1 brain) and #4 is in a few weeks (brain). He is kind, gentle, pleasant and pays close attention to his patients. His staff is absolutely the best, hands down. I trust Dr. Kim implicitly to the point of calling and getting recommendations from him for other types of surgeons. I like that he's not quick to rush to surgery. He explores lots of other options first and then proceeds.

Dr. Kim operated on my wife after she was hit by a truck while training on her bicycle for Ironman. She had a burst fracture of her L1 vertebrae. His expertise and manner were the best I have ever experienced. My wife has fully recovered from her serious injuries. The surgery was 9 hours and she was hospitalized for around a month. This happened 10 years ago. I still think of Dr. Kim frequently and we are both so thankful he was our surgeon.

Dr. R. Kim performed 2 different back surgeries on me. Both outcomes were excellent. Staff was good and doctor was caring.
