About Richard Blake Curd
Reviews for Richard Blake Curd
Pleasant, thorough and fast
Dr Curd and his PA Chad are kind, considerate and provided thorough details on diagnosis and follow up expectations. Their office was exceptionally quick (same day) at getting approval from insurance and calling back to schedule surgery.
Dr. Curd was amazing!
Very easy to talk to. Explained what was going on and gave me options.
My appointment was very prompt and my upcoming hand surgery explained so I feel confident about what to expect. Dr. Curd was very kind , attentive , and professional. I’m confident now of a good outcome with my upcoming surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Curd.
This is the third time I have had a medical contact with Dr Curd; he “surgeried” my right hand trigger finger correcting what another doctor had done and then did carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve surgery on my husband and he and his staff were exceptional. As expected, this time was no different. X-rays were taken after my checking in and the ball rolled from there. He saw my problems, explained what I needed and what to expect in the future and completed his procedure. I highly recommend Dr Curd and this clinic.
Would like to have a little more time to talk to him. But had my shots. Doing good.
Excellent - explained (in layman’s terms) my medical problems, choices of treatment, very well - his support staff, exemplary !! Thank you Dr Curd /staff
Great doctor! Very knowledgeable! ! Takes the time to listen to his patients!
Dr. Curd is very knowledgeable. As my husband put it. Saw me, treated me and see you in 6 weeks. He is a straightforward type of doctor. He wanted to know why I waited 7 months to be seen, I was hoping pain would go away on its own. But new injury on opposite side of body required both injuries be seen. We will see how injections and physical therapy will help..
Dr. Curd is kind and has a great bedside manner. I felt at ease right away. Grateful to have him care for my medical needs.
Excellent care best hand doctor I’ve ever seen.
I’ve seen Dr. Curd before… He did my two thumb surgeries 3 to 4 years ago. I thought he was wonderful then which is why I came back… Very skilled, smart, knowledgeable, and most importantly, down to earth.❤️
Hoping this helps
Very friendly and great at putting the patient at ease. Excellent treatment and care.
Felt very comfortable with Dr Curd. Staff was very nice and professional.
Very efficient, very friendly folks - Dr. Curd and team informative, nice and helpful - a very nice experience overall
Best hand and arm doctor in the state. Great guy who really cares about his patients. Highly recommend.
Good visit. The last time I was there the doc took care of the pain in by my thumbs. I have had any problems with them seance then. This Tim I had an injection in one joint for pain. Iâm positive I wonât have any pain again.
I arrived at 8:20 for my 8:30 appointment. I met Dr Curd immediately, got an x-ray, had another consult with Dr Curd including a quick procedure performed on my wrist and was in my vehicle by 8:50. It was incredible! A master class of healthcare efficiency. I would highly recommend Dr Curd and his staff to anyone.
Great visit thanks for the help!
Great doctor & surgeon. This was my 2nd procedure with Dr. Curd. Would highly recommend.
Dr. Curd made time for me after I had an injury that had me greatly concerned. His opinion gave me a lot of confidence going forward. Great person great physician!
Great doctor. Trust him completely
Dr. Curd is one of the absolute best!
Dr. Curd was very informative, professional and polite. I learned a lot about my wrist that I did not know.
Very knowledgeable, friendly, and good.
He seems caring.
Was prompt, and thorough with all he did
Canât recommend Dr Curd and his staff highly enough. Always have time to answer questions and put you at ease. Thank you!
Dr Curd is very knowledgeable in his field and excellent to work with. He helped my sister-in-law, myself, and now my Mother. I would highly recommend him for any hand issues.
I was able to get in right away to see Dr Curd. All of his staff were knowledgeable and courteous. Dr Curd was professional, friendly, and kind! He explained everything and was very supportive during my treatment. I would highly recommend him!
I’ve been seen Dr. Curd for at least 10 years. He did my carpal tunnel surgery 2 years ago and now he’s helping me deal with a pinched nerve in my hand. Very professional but you can get a good chuckle out of him.
My most recent appointment was with their walk in clinic. I actually saw Chad, Dr Curd's PA as the doc is still in Legislative session, I think. Anyway, they are always receptive to my issues/complaint and take it seriously. I've had a shoulder & a tendon transfer done previously with complete success and no problems post op. My latest appointment was a walk in and I was in and out in an hour - that included x-rays and waiting on a callback from another provider who was in surgery for a quick consult on one of the x-rays. I have never had an issue with Orthopedic Institute or Dr Curd. I love that man as he's so successfully treated me several times! I have no plans to leave Orthopedic Institute or find a different doc than Dr Curd, regardless of the numerous ortho clinical and provider's in Sioux Falls. I feel appreciated as a patient and respected as a human. I've never had the feeling that I was interrupting someone's day or taking too much of their time.
Dr Curd is an amazing Dr. I highly recommend him! I was scheduled for carpel tunnel surgery. He gave me an injection & I haven’t had a problem since! He knows what spot to hit!
Dr Curd is THE BEST! His knowledge and experience are tops. His easy confidence is assuring to his patient. I’ve been his patient for 20 years ... and still feel special at my appointments.
I got right in to see Dr Curd and the expedited care and treatment that I received was exceptional. His expertise is based on years of experience and is so very competent. I have full confidence in his guidance for treatment and I am thankful to be able to get these services in Sioux Falls.
Trust Dr. Curd & his staff completely. Wouldn't go anywhere else. in all the years I've been going here I've never had to wait, always in and out fast without feeling rushed.
Dr. Curd has treated me twice for Dupytrens Contracture. I have a very high level of confidence in his medical expertise. His treatments have been very beneficial to me and given me relief from my hand problem. Furthermore, he is easy to talk to and does a good job of explaining the problem so you can understand the treatment and why it is needed. He is a good communicato
He is a caring and compassionate doctor. He did what he could for my wrist and I will be greatful for that
Excellent Treatment from Dr. Curd and his PA Chad. Outstanding education before surgery, friendly and willing to answer every question and concern. Very high quality for his specialty.
Dr. Curd is the best in Sioux Falls!
I've been helped by Dr. Curd twice. The first time was for a torn biceps tendon. I made a complete recovery even though I was out of the country and didn't see a doctor until 2 months after the accident. The 2nd time was for arthritis in my thumb. I strongly recommend Dr. Curd. He told me exactly what I could expect and I am very satisfied.
I suspected that Carpel tunnel was present in my left hand. Searching the internet for info led me to the Sioux Falls Orthopedic Institute. I was familiar with the facility from a shoulder repair 18 years ago. They had the best diagnostic & procedure write up I had found. Their question & answer questionnaire satisfied my suspicions. I called & received an appointment that fit my schedule. Both hands were tested & showed left to be severe & right moderate. I was able to schedule both hand the next afternoon. Surgery was completed & 8 days later I've been back for check up & all is progressing well. I would certainly recommend Dr Curd, his team & the facility if you suspect a carpel tunnel problem.
I am a returning patient. He has been my doctor for almost 10 years and I am very pleased with his care and treatment of pain in my thumb, putting my broken arm back together and now treating the pain in my finger. His technique is precise and effective. He explains the procedures and points out things on technology.
He was fine but haven't heard back to set an appointment to take care of my hand.
Very pleasant and informed.
Very informative and very thorough, I like a doctor that tells you what is going on and does not sugar coat things. I will seriously tell others that need help to come visit my new doctor!
Timely visit, no waiting. Very helpful doctor and PA!!!
I have gone to Dr Curd for years now and I truly feel that he's the best. He explains everything very clear, gives you options and truly cares for you. I would highly recommend him to everyone!
work on the line at a swine slaughter plant sent to work with elbow pads was diagnosed with carpal tunnel in both hands and cubital tunnel in both elbows went back in a week because I hurt and couldn't do the job had cortisone shots in both wrists was told to go back to my job immediately. He didn't do anything to my elbows and told me they would feel better once the swelling goes down. My wrist is bruised and swollen. I still hurt in my wrists and elbows 3 days later. I told my employer I can't return because I can't even pinch my fingers together. My question is, ' How is the swelling supposed to go down when you work on the line at a slaughter plant?'

I have to update my previous review. I had 2 surgeries, the 2nd being a wrist replacement. Now 2 1/2 year after the wrist replacement I am having another surgery to replace the stem in my prosthesis which is wobbly according to 2 other orthopedic surgeons. When I visited with Dr Curd about it he said it wasn't wobbly and when I looked at the xray from 3 months after the wrist replacement it appears the same as it does now showing its wobbly. Not happy with the response I received from him.

very poor bedside manner and personal skills. way too long of wait time to see him for less than 5 minutes.
Dr. Curd and his staff have been supportive in my recovery from surgery. It is a long drive for appointments. As a teacher on a reservation school, I appreciate the patience and courtesy that is afforded me. Thank you Dr. Curd and Staff, Gary
Dr. Curd and his PA are wonderful! They both took plenty of time and really listened to what was going on with my hand and took great care of me. Dr. Curd tried injections before jumping straight to surgery, which I really appreciated. In the end, I did need surgery, and the wait time from my office visit to surgery was quick. My surgery was a great success and I'm back to using my hand without pain. I highly recommend Dr. Blake Curd.
Dr. Curd is always professional, friendly, very good at what he does. I trust him.
Very happy with results. Very professional Dr. And staff.
I am very grateful to Dr. R. Curd and his team at the Sioux Falls Speciality Hospital and Orthopedic Institute. High quality and high speed of the work! I wish all of them trillion GOD's blessings! I will strongly recommend to my family and friends! Thank GOD, the surgery was excellently done by Dr. Curd, so my left broken hand fully recovered now.
I had a unfortunate experience of having carpel tunnel re-occurring and being very painful. Went to Dr. Curd and he fix me and is getting better every day. Many thanks to Dr. Curd. Fred

I met with this Dr. Twice. On both occassions he answered my questions to my satisfaction. I feel like he is very down to earth and would go out of his way to ensure that I get the best of treatment.
My son broke his finger playing baseball on a Sunday. We called the next morning and were squeezed into his schedule. He was very engaging with my son, explained the situation, and gave us options to consider for healing and getting back to playing as soon as reasonably possible. He made my son feel like he was very important and a priority. We had 3 follow up visits with Dr. Curd and all were very good experiences.
I got no nonsense, quick response for my hand issues! Surgery experience at the Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital was top notch!
Good Good humor humor made me comfortable
