Dr.A really does take the pain away. He is very conservative and thorough in treating you and your pain as an individual, not as just some insurance check.

First we couldn't ever get in touch with the clinic by phone. When I finally got an appointment, and arrived at the clinic the staff AND the doctor treated my wife like she should feel privileged to receive their service. The doctor was obviously more interested in billing the insurance than in actually providing help to his patient!!???? She walked out in the middle of being seen by the doctor. Awful service!! The office staff do not follow up or show care unless you get mad! Voice mail to even make an appointment or a nurse. No one calls back! I don't think anyone there has ever felt pain or they'd be more proactive to help.

If you are a candidate looking for a job our a patient seeking pain management I don't consider no one being a patient at this providers office. I have a good friend of mine who worked for him and know works for me at our office before being hired we did indeed know how much this provider was paying this candidate he/she was better off working at mcdonald's for what this physician pays his staff and how he treats his staff. Patients do no get a call back from the provider nor an email when they have questions in regards to there care. His office is short staff from what I was told from his previous employee that is one of the main reason they cannot get to all his patients in time. I decided to see Dr. A based off his reviews. After 1 visit he said call me if you need something stronger or a refill for my Lyrica. I decided to take a vacay & began severely swelling. I called for a refill & was denied stating that for every refill I had to come into the office for approval. I ended up in the ER & had to reschedule. It was very difficult reaching his staff much less the Dr. They are now threatening to charge me $300 for rescheduling my appt. when their policy clearly states the fee is ONLY if you cancel. He said he didn’t care & wouldn’t reschedule me again. When you’re in pain this kind of treatment is the last thing that you need. ***Read reviews & consider what is happening daily to patients that are trying to improve the quality of their life. This guy has been in possession of my partner’s medical imaging for well over a month. Initially, his office told us that he only relies on the imaging report and doesn’t even look at the imaging himself. Apparently, he acquiesced however, and “accepted” our providing an MRI for his review, promising to review it and contact us. After over a month when after he had ordered additional imaging, we’d heard absolutely nothing back from him. My partner requested the imaging back, in hope of seeking out another more available/interested physician. Unfortunately his office denied ever having been in possession of any imaging, couldn’t locate the records, admitted that they typically don’t review the imaging and even put the blame back on the patient. Would you want a surgical procedure by someone who’d never laid eyes on your diagnostic studies?Avoid this guy at all costs. Messed up terribly on my second injection and when I told his staff the boy quickly tells me there’s no drugs to give me when I never asked for anything! I was just telling him to inform alvarado that it had hurt me and that something was wrong! He never called me back so I emailed him and he never called me back! On third scheduled visit the facility called me right when we were about to get there! Then I got billed from both dr. Alvarado and the facility! They claimed that I canceled when I’m fact it was them and guess what I never got to spoke to the doctor and they stilled billed me and the staff were so nasty with me! This place isn't right... Employees mean more than the patient does with Doctor Alvarado. I was not allowed to speak to Dr. Alvarado about his employee's choices. Doctor Alvarado refused to see any fault in his employee and even made excuses for his actions. My opinion, go somewhere else. Doctor Alvarado, in my opinion, does not care for his patients, at least he didn't about me. I am in a wheelchair and merely asked a simple question about my next appointment. Would it be a consult or a fusion, so I could have a driver. The Staff (employee) wrote back saying he didn't quite understand my question, as they didn't do fusions there. I then said in-fusion and reminded him I was new to this entire experience. He said oh yes and told me to use the Portal next time I had to ask a question. He no longer wanted to deal with me because I challenged his rude behavior (not the first time he had been rude to me either - Doctor Alvarado didn't care to hear it). When I asked to speak to Doctor Alvarado, the doctor immediately sent me an email defending his employee, stating he was only a new patient coordinator and could not answer questions. He then said he would charge me a late payment if I cancelled. I felt unsafe and uneasy at this point and was very confused... Was this my Doctor yelling at me and defending his employee without even hearing my concerns? The same employee, Jay Reyes, had always answered many questions prior and he was always rude to me until I challenged him this time. Then he directs me to use the Portal, which requires access by them and they didn't provide access. Furthermore, the employee does more than just being a patient coordinator, as he was in my room asking medical questions and such the week prior as well; multi-tasker. I guess it's all about money... But it's not about the patient. I have been in pain for 24 years and need help. Doctor Alvarado didn't seem to care. I went elsewhere for fear of retaliation and Doctor Alvarado refused to cancel my appointment, telling me he would do what he had to on his end; charge a cancellation fee for not coming in (under the circumstances, would you?). I've been seeing Dr. Alvarado for quite a while now, and I've never had as wonderful of a Dr/patient relationship as I have with him. He took all my past medical records into account, as well as his own approach, and was able to figure out the pain Ive had for 11 years now when no one else could! He always listens to my concerns, and is always willing to contact me when I have questions. I am absolutely in love with his entire staff! They are all so caring and also quick to respond when I have questions. I have been getting ketamine infusions for my pain, and Im very comfortable with the level of care that is provided. The nurses that help with these infusions are really kind and take such good care of me during my infusions. I couldnt be happier with this facility, the Dr and his entire staff. I’ve been a patient of Dr A’s for over 3 years now. The continuity in my care has helped me maintain a life outside of my bed. His staff is kind, compassionate and makes me feel important... not just a patient. If you are in pain Dr. A. Will take your pain away and give you back your life!!!

Dr. A is amazing. Before coming to him I was in so much pain I couldn't do anything and would just stayed in bed. My wife and kids were really worried about me. My visit to Dr. Alvardo was very welcoming. He’s was accurate on how my pain level was and good solutions on how work with my back pain. I went to see Dr. Alvarado today for a follow up. I must say, the visit itself was pain-free as well. I walked in, checked in, sat in the waiting room then taken to the examination room in less than 20 minutes and this includes the time it took me to fill out the standard paperwork and the handling of my co-payment. The staff was friendly as usual and Dr. Alvarado is always in a good mood as well and that helps put you at ease. When we go over the reason for my visit today, he asks about my pains and goes over treatments and he explains it all so that I can understand it. He is very thorough. Dr. Alvarado is great!

Dr Richards Alvarado is one of the most compassionate doctors I have seen in 25 years. I was diagnosed with CRPS/RSDS in 1993. Most physicians, whether they are a family medicine or specialized in pain medicine have treated me as if the pain I endure daily, yearly, or for a 25 year period, is not possible and all an act. Dr. Alvarado asked me a few questions and my answers satisfied him with a few records also. He has been kind, through, and very forward in treatment. 25 years in the making

The medical standard of care I have received from Dr. Alvarado and his staff has been exceptional. An extra bonus is his fabulous sense of humor! Thank you Dr. Alvarado for taking my chronic back pain away! :-)

I have been able to get off many medications with a Ketamine infusion center in his clinic. Dr. Alvarado has a Ketamine protocol that is individualized for each patient. I have lived with RSD/CRPS since Dec 2006. I was on opioids for almost 10.5 years. Dr A was able to get me off of opioids. I have been getting ketamine infusions from his office. His nurse Jonathan is an awesome nurse. Dr A and Jonathan are an awesome team. Plus, I love all the staff there.
