Dr. Rex S Haberman II

I believe Dr. Haberman needs to revisit a catastrophic surgery he was in charge of on 2-10-2022 with my beloved Alder. Alder came out of the surgery looking absolutely awful. He looked in shock and said he dreamt he was a Political prisoner. He NEVER was able to fully recover because Dr. Haberman did not take the situation seriously fast enough! He was on vacation for a month and according to the office at the Oaks , there was no one else that could see him. He doesn't seem to have a sense when something has gone terribly wrong, even when someone is now in a wheelchair only 2 months after a surgery that he performed. He sent Alder over to Neurology that gave him a immunosuppressive trial of therapy and then after a few weeks Alder got C-diff. Dr. Haberman seemed distant when we were in crisis and to this day over one year later, doesn't know what happened. Shands came up with a prion disease but prion disease doesn't show up right after surgery. It takes months to years to present itself if one is contaminated from surgical instruments or a cannibal. Alder ate fish but was very careful about what he put into his body as he was allergic to dairly and wheat. Shame on this whole hospital and its dysfunctional system. Alder trusted you . He thought you were professionals . He was sad to discover this was not the case. I don't know if Dr. Haberman made the error, but he was overseeing the surgery. It very well could have been the anesthesiologist and the difficulty with intubation. The CJD society is finding more families saying the aneshesia created the prion misfolding in their loved ones. In this situation, there may be a chance that they could live a bit longer than those with CJD from heredity or cannibalism, or contamination exposure. EVEN, the CJD institute needs to do research about the possible correlation to anesthesia. HINT> dont' go to a teaching hospital.... a day surgery should not have such catastrophic consequences.

Dr Haberman has been working on my ear for over 25 years. I cannot recommend him enough! I can hear again!

I saw Dr. Haberman at the UF Oaks Mall location. The doctor did not take time to diagnose my issues nor did he even want to get involved or something I've been dealing with for over a year. With terrible vertigo I never know when it's going to happen and I'm worried it's going to happen when I'm driving. He did not listen to anything I had to say. Living in South Carolina he just pushed me out the door and told me to get checked at home because it was the end of the day. Did not even explain what was going on, he basically gave me a Google diagnosis. Big waste of time. Unsympathetic doctor. He may need to retire that side matters need work. STAY AWAY FROM HABERMAN. He preformed an unnecessary stapedectomy in 2010. The hearing that I had was taken away. I had a flaccid eardrum from accid. nothing else. There were many red flags I ignored. I was desperate to have hearing back. After surgery, 90% of hearing gone. It was 40% gone prior to surgery. Haberman blamed my brother who drove me home from the surgery. Filed complnt w/MN med brd. dismissed. Haberman skipped out to FL. PEOPLE IN FL STAY AWAY. Haberman bad character.

I had a stapedectomy performed by Dr.Haberman to treat hearing loss. I was told that I would need another operation every 10 years for the rest of my life. Six months later all of my hearing gains reversed and I sought help from a different doctor who told me that the first surgery had failed and that the surgery shouldn't require follow-up surgeries. The second doctor's surgery was successful and I haven't needed any additional surgeries in that ear.
