Dr. Rebecca Lynn Scherr

Dr. Scherr spent 2hrs brainstorming with me when we went to her for a second opinion. Our other GI wouldn’t admit he was wrong and Dr Scherr agreed with our assessment and even found some solutions to other issues we didn’t notice. We switched to her permanently after the ori gal provider continued to be difficult. We haven’t had to have a 2hr visit since the first visit. It is really hard getting ahold of the nurse though. She is in UNLV health so they control the staffing. They are mostly ok just really busy.

Had a very disappointing experience when I attempted to take my 18 month old son to see Dr. Scherr. We waited weeks for the appointment only to be turned away the day of. When we arrived the front desk person informed us that new patients should arrive 30 mins prior to our appointment time.The instructions we received when we scheduled the appointment and the appointment reminder text message failed to mention or provide any guidance of this requirement. The front desk person called Dr Scherr to see if she could see us but was declined (waiting room was empty). I showed the front desk person the appointment reminder text message and they acknowledged the discrepancy but failed to do anything to address it. The entire experience was cold and disorganized and not consistent with other experiences I have had with other pediatric specialists.

Excellent, competant , smart , friendly and pleasant doctor. I think she is THE BEST for my son with sickle cell. I trust her.

My daughter was diagnosed FTT and I wanted to meet with Dr Scherr as a second opinion. Dr Scherr is amazing! I am so glad I found her and decided to get a second GI opinion for my daughter. She is a straight shooter, honest and warm. She personally called me on the weekend to confirm a prescription she sent to the pharmacy. That is above and beyond what you would expect from a doctor. When I had my follow-up with her, she remembered conversations and specific details that we discussed 2 months prior. I have seen many doctors for my daughter in Nevada and she is the first where I haven’t had to repeat the medical history of my child. I am impressed and delighted to be her patient. Never!

Just like every other Ped's GI in this town. Doesn't spend the time to address needs and is surgery happy instead of treating the problem.

In just two visits she knew what was wrong with our daughter. Best Gi dr in town!! She’s amazing, you can ask questions and get straight answers.

We changed insurance carriers in order to take our son to Dr. Scherr. my son had constant stomach pain, on several meds for acid reflux. She concluded it was his diet and to continue with 40ml of omeprazole acid meds plus added some other acid reducer loratadine at his 74lbs. We ask about and endoscopy,and did not seem interested in doing that much. nothing improved while she was under her care. changed insurance again so it could see a gastro Dr. he had seen earlier in his life, with no diagnosis. Dr. was better, son could explain symtoms better, had an endoscopy and colonoscopy yesterday, found lesions in his esophagus ---wish she would have taken him more seriously. we could have known there was a problem 5 years ago
