Visit was for a 2nd opinion and I was told that a review of my care to that point would be discussed as well as whether or not Dr. Aft agreed with the other cancer center's recommendations. However, there was NO such discussion. Dr. Aft and the resident were impersonal, allowed no time for questions and, sadly, felt the need to make fun of the degree of claustrophobia I have. Very uncompassionate provider.

Dr. Aft listens to you. She is amazing.

Dr. Aft was my surgeon for my breast cancer. She was compassionate and upbeat about my treatment and prognosis. She gave me information I needed and answered my questions. Instead of being afraid, I felt hopeful.

Awful, beware of this surgeon. She lies to the patient, and cares more about impressing the med students and residents she is training. She will lie to your face about performing the surgery and even being in the OR. I understand BJC is a teaching hospital, but a surgeon should not lie to the patient about if she will be performing the surgery. She will not believe you on your post op visit if you complain about pain. She will tell you and this is laughable, that the surgery did not cause any of pain you are experiencing. She actually told me, and I Quote, you have NO nerves in your underarm. So my pain after the lumpectomy was imaginary. THIS DOCTOR should be avoided.

I had surgery about 8 years ago and the problem never returned. I think she is outstanding.

Dr. Aft is a rock star! She is caring and compassionate.

Very scatterbrained cold and uncaring. Liar too. How can a physician who does so many mastectomies forget to refer a patient who wanted reconstruction to a plastic surgeon? Surgery had to be postponed after Dr Aft was repeatedly told and promised to accommodate a time frame so the patient would be able to have someone at home during surgery. couldn’t care less that a patient with history of delayed anesthesia difficulties go home alone after drive through total mastectomy

Be careful, they will schedule you to see her nurse practitioner instead of her.
