Amazing attention to detail. He tested me for things other rheumatologist didn’t and acted fast. Glendale staff is friendly and made accommodations to fit me in an emergency. Ruby personally was very kind and patient with all my questions and concerns.

I had been seeing Dr. Kesavalu for almost 2 years before my insurance switched last July and I started experiencing a lot of really weird new symptoms. I had seen 3 new rheumatologist on the new insurance. The 1st rheum told me to stay with my husband - so my pcp immediately referred me somewhere else. The 2nd rheum was nice until they weren’t. They kept telling me they didn’t know why I had pain, that I didn’t have pain, tried many times to prescribe me medications that I kept stressing reacted negatively with my body, and even had an MRI taken and told me the results were normal. In the report it mentioned cystic structures in my pulleys, and the rheum insisted they weren’t there and it was completely normal. My pcp saw the MRI report, saw the rheum follow up report and asked me what happened. I explained, and my PCP did not agree with the way I was treated or with the notes and tried to refer me back to Kesavalu. That’s when I found out I was not in the same medical group. So I was referred to the 3rd rheum, who told me to stop talking as I explained my symptoms, shook their head when I told them my family history, insisted those conditions don’t exist in my family so they wrote down what the think my other family members have.. and then wrote in their notes that I denied having the symptoms I told them I was experiencing. But that they were now diagnosing me with those symptoms??? I have no words and I’m still in shock. After agreeing to pay cash, I went and saw Dr. Kesavalu today and I am just so thankful for him. He went over all the new blood tests (thankfully normal ????) explained to me all the other possibilities to my symptoms and to keep checking back in with my PCP. He even took the time to explain the MRI report and what that meant and how some of my symptoms are from the cystic structures. He listens and talks to me like a human and he actually cares about my health and isn’t quick to prescribe medications for no reason. And he definitely doesn’t care about my marital status. I wasn’t going around from rheum to rheum, trying to prove I have a rheum issue. I kept getting referred to a new one based on quality of care. I just wanted an explanation for all these weird new symptoms (and so does my PCP) - and so far every other specialist I’ve seen insist it’s rheumatology, so that’s where I kept getting sent back to.. and if you’ve read this far you know how that went. I can’t believe I had to see 3 other people with this new insurance, get treated the way I did, only to finally see Dr. Kesavalu again for the answers I was looking for and some peace of mind. Thank you again so much Dr. Kesavalu!! You are a rare gem! Highly recommend. Even if it’s not exactly the answer you want, there is a lot that goes into these diagnosis, a lot of different options to explore as the cause for these symptoms and Dr. Kesavalu explained all of that throughly to me in a way you’d hope every Dr. would. Hands down the worst experience I've ever had with any doctor, let alone specialist. I have been a patient of Dr. Kesavalu for just over a year (I have an HMO health plan so unfortunately I don't get to pick my doctors.) On my first visit, the doctor was dismissive, insensitive, and seemingly agitated when I asked him some basic questions about my newly diagnosed psoriatic arthritis. I can't count how many blood tests have been ordered with no response, information or next steps. I recently had surgery and the surgeon asked that I stop taking one of my meds two weeks in advance of my procedure but suggested that I check with the prescribing physician before doing so. I tried to call multiple times but couldn't get through to the doctor, a nurse, or anyone else in the office for two full weeks and eventually found out that "their phone system was down..." How is that even a thing at a doctors office?!?! Glad I stopped taking it because someone eventually called, THE DAY BEFORE my surgery to let me know the doc said it was fine to stop. Additionally, I've been on a medication called Otezla for about 5 years and the doctor refuses to refill the prescription if I don't come into the office every 2 months, which costs me $80 and about an hour commute each time (and is totally unnecessary.) The third red flag was when he put me on medication I had a terrible reaction to. I'm a reasonable person, it happens... but what I cannot accept is that he was unreachable and I couldn't get a hold of him for over a week. Ultimately, a fill-in physician finally called me back and advised me to stop taking the medicine. Thanks for that. Lastly, I can't seem to get the office to fax over my files to my new doctor. The folks in the office are all nice on the phone but as soon as you hang up, nothing gets done and they don't communicate with each other. I don't ever write reviews like this but I hope you do your research and don't come here. Helplessness, just what the doctor ordered.

best doctor ever, really good customer service and really nice guy, DEFINITLEY RECCOMEND

Dismissive towards patients and so are his receptionists. Does not return phone calls to patients.

Bay Dr., bad personality, I will not recommend him. Worst experience with a dr office visit, dr Kesavalu was not paying attention to my problem, he did not ask questions about my problem , I tried to explain and ask his opinion, he was in hurry , I followed up next day, no authorization was submitted yet. Bad dr, bad personality,

I wasn't taken seriously or listened to and I strongly believe it's because I'm a woman. He talked down to me and quite honestly didn't know what he was talking about. He gave me incorrect information and was dismissive and insensitive.
