Dr. Rama Devi Rao

My visit to Dr Rao on 3-16-2023 was very unprofessional and she was very rude & argumentative with other patients as well..

If you don’t want steroid injections or are a medical marijuana patient, don’t waste your time. There’s NO WAY I would let that place inject me, it’s cramped, dirty and the Dr is wholly ignorant. Would not listen to my medical history, already had those injections. I guess her injections are “special”. ???? Her way or the highway. Toodles, “Doctor”. ✌????

I only rated her 1 star because I had to in order to write a review. She would not listen to me. Yes, I have a back injury, that does not bother me. I was told to look for a pain management specialist by the orthopedic sports medicine surgeon who had done 3 surgeries on my knee due to an injury. I start going to her and she insists I need shots in my back. I went back to her my next visit and said my knee pain has not gotten better. In anger she said you're going to have to go see your pcp. Then proceeded to say she can do another round of shots in my back. She insisted I go to the orthopedic surgeon she selected. I said no because I already went through the cortisone shots and chicken fat shots. She said there is a protocol to follow. Mind you she had images of my knee. I went to an orthopedic surgeon who is more invasive than the one I had been seeing this past Monday. He scheduled me for knee replacement surgery 12/23/2021. He told me I will need a GOOD pain specialist to help me before and long term after surgery until I finish physical therapy. This woman is a QUACK! I work in the medical field myself. I should have know better than to let her insist on these shots in my back. BEWARE of Dr Roa if you are in serious pain that's not in your back. She doesn't know what to do. This Doctor hits the spot everytime I have to go see her. Some people say the shots don't work but I know they help me alot. I just wish she was closer to where I live.

My husband has been a patient of Dr. Rao’s for 4yrs now and loves her! She always helps his pain with injections & even though they hurt she has a different procedure than other pain doctors he’s been to which lessen the pain during the procedure. The injections are also long lasting. Very clean environment & courteous staff!

Dr. Rao is absolutely amongst the few “devoted” doctors left. My primary doctor of many years always particular in specialists he recommends still highly Respects her. My mother 1990’s found help from Dr. Rao with tremendous success. Aging, her overall health started failing. Even SO fragile Dr. always ended up helping her. My mother came from a career working with nurses understood well that Dr. Rao was Extremely devoted to “simply helping people get out of pain”. Although she usually wastes no time, right to the point, and very serious-some patients take this as poor bedside manner. Mentioned this once and Dr. Rao told me she’s Concentrating after reading your charts upon entering room...just what’s the best advise and treatment for your particular issues. This doctor having back issues herself could have retired…but chose to continue her work. Also, especially my wife & I had severe back issues...we both agree she actually saved us. No surgery! We’ve no-complaints of pain!

Dr Rao has been a tremendous help. Her injections significantly reduced my pain and has made such a difference in my life. I can’t thank her enough.

Terrible doctor, all she did was push injections on me and when I told her I didn’t want them, she said well I can’t do anything for you then and made me cry my eyes out. Didn’t seem to care at all about her patients. When I was first taken back I heard her yelling at a patient in the next room over, should have ran out at that point. Worse doctor I have ever seen in my life, forced injections on me I didn't even need! Wasn't even the area I came I for, dont wanna listen to the patient at all, was very rude and looked like a witch doctor, I came in for pain management, and left with injections I didn't want and a script to physical therapy!

Very angry old lady she gave me injection and said everyone has pain and did not prescribe me pain meds but once and then stopped

I HAVE CHRONIC DEGENERATIVE BACK ARTHRITIS, THIS DOCTOR DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE PREVIOUS PAPERWORK I BROUGHT FROM MY LAST PAIN DOCTOR. I truly believe this "witch doctor" need to be brought in front of the medical review board. She is unfit to practice medicine. Someone needs to step in before she really hurts someone.

I went to see her for the first time today. My shoulder was dislocated about 8 yrs ago and has been getting worse. My dog is large and well yacked the chain. So over the years it has been getting there and a month ago I lost control of the entire arm almost killing myself in a car accident. So ER follow up with my reg. Doc she sent me to this crisis of a facility! I have been to physical therapy twice over the course of 2 years and am at my wits end. So my fam doc sent me to her. She is the worst doctor I have ever encountered. Not to mention privacy violation I could hear her talking about patients that were in other rooms. She insisted I get a shot in the shoulder and it would help. Now here i sit at home in more pain than what I came in with and running a fever. I should have never trusted her. But when you have a glimmer of hope for normality you would do anything. I called them about 6 hrs after this morning to let them know HEY! the pain is way way worse. They told me to go to ER. For what when she is a doc? I am so confused and very disappointed. I had hope and now it's gone. I wasn't asking for pain meds. I was asking for hope. I’d give no stars if possible I waited for 2 hours to be told she can’t treat me due to my spinal muscular atrophy. Wouldn’t prescribe me any medicine even though I’ve been on pain meds for 2 years now. Pretty sure all she learned in med school was how to do spinal injections. I use to see Dr.Rama until my insurance changed and I loved her saw her for yrs , she even found the non- cancerous tumor on my Spine between T1 and T2 , If my insurance would allow me to go back I sure would

If you are a MEDICAL MARIJUANA patient, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PHYSICIAN! Dr. Rama is old fashioned in her practices for pain management and will NOT help anyone that uses MM for whatever cause. Dr. Rama is quick to force all patients to drug test bi-weekly (urine screening). A simple blood draw would be more effective in gauging the patients opiode levels, and far less crude a manner in which to investigate doubt. I felt this unnecessary scrutiny for a new patient to go through before Dr. Rama even saw any imaging of the problem, let alone ordered any! This shows a lack of confidence in both professional and personal character. Shame on her and her practice for not helping my loved one! The fact that she has any patients at all is a testament to the fact that no one reads these reviews. I learned the hard way it pays to explore. She would be better described as a Corrections Officer than a doctor. Absolutely no empathy for my pain at all. Rude, prejudiced, unhelpful, unconcerned describe her best.

I have been to the doctor 2 times now and will not go back. I brought my significant other the second visit to see if I was misjudging the doctor. The reason I was there was pain due to A crushed ankle from a motorcycle accident Some time ago, having pins, plates & screening in it. 1st Visit was two weeks before and she sent me for X-rays of my ankle. Gave me three shots in my back. The shots did nothing. Second visit told her there was no relief she said it's my back & said I need an MRI, do I have any metal in my body...duh! Dr. Rao and Staff were very friendly. I have two herniated discs and Dr. Rao gave me injections. It took a couple of visits, but with the injections and physical therapy I was pain free.

Dr. Rao was kind, gentle and thorough. Her office staff is warm and courteous.

Dr. Rao is possibly one of the worst Dr's I've been to. She has poor bedside manor to be polite, she talks about her patients, stating in front of me if the lady wasn't 600 lbs she wouldnt have back issues, just to be clear the lady was plus size but no where near 600lbs. I had debilitating back pain from a cervical cortisone injection and the next day I was not able to get out of bed. This lasted 3 days. Her office assured me its normal, spoke to others who were hospitalized,also no exolination

zero stars. If you're reading these reviews, listen because they all tell the same story. She treated my (very sharp/active) elderly mother extremely rudely. She also denigrated her surgeon, who has an excellent reputation and bedside manner. Extremely unprofessional.

I would leave zero stars if I could. Seen her today very unprofessional and doesn't listen. Wanted to do everything I already have had done. She got very loud and said my previous doctor was a quack. Would not recommend to my worse enemy!!

Dr. Rao helped my Mother, my husband and myself with extreme sciatica nerve pain. We believe this Dr. is devoted to relieving her patients from pain. She's not rude... just very serious speaking Doctor. Never had pain from the injections. In my opinion we need more "devoted" doctors like this. She always looks disheveled. She is rude and abrupt. I stopped getting injections because I left there in tears. Went back because famiky Dr wont Rx pain meds. She stated since you refuse injections i wont give you pain meds. Lose weight ang walk outside more! I have RA and extreme migraines. Plus was auto accident. She looks like she does all the meds her patients ask for smh!

I concur that this physician does not listen when a patient is relaying their area(s) of concern. In addition, her hands on assessment was a farce. It seems that she favors lumbar puncture, and regardless of reason for patient visit, tries to derive an indication for such. Further, the general impression of the office was very unclean and the odor of cigarette smoke was overwhelming (seemingly contributed to by office staff returning from lunch). The worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. She don't listen to you, she has a very bad and unprofessional attitude. This doctor yelled at me and showed me that she does not care about anyone that comes to see her.
