Dr.Kent has treated me with a wound that wouldn't heal.After 2 recommendations to have a BKA(below knee amputation)Dr.Kent used his expertise in wound care to treat and heal my wound,so that I am able to keep my foot. Thank God I had his knowledge and skilled hands in my treatment.

Dr. Kent performed my partial thyroidectomy after 20 years of living with a multi-nodular thyroid goiter. I was referred to him after a very thorough physical and ultrasound, whose results found a large, growing mass on one half of my thyroid. Dr. Kent’s office called and scheduled me to get in very quickly. I was apprehensive about surgery due to never having any before, but from the moment I met Dr. Kent, he put me at ease. He and his staff are professional, direct, and accommodating. My insurance had a hiccup and his office worked diligently to have my surgery approved in less than a week. The day of surgery I was extremely anxious and scared. Once again, the state of the art facility in Vestavia exceeded my expectations and I was cared for from the moment I arrived until they literally put me in to my car. The one thing I cannot say enough about is Dr. Kent. He came and explained everything to me moments before surgery and when they were rolling me down the hall, I saw him and he gave me a smile that put all my anxiety aside. I had my follow up today and again, Dr. Kent went above and beyond to explain his findings and the steps I needed to take for follow up. I am beyond pleased with my experience and would recommend Dr. Kent and his staff to anyone suffering with their thyroid.

Following surgery, I posted a positive review concerning Dr. Kent. Unfortunately, I will have to give my experience with his staff a terrible rating. Due to their error I was billed over $2000. 2 members of Dr. Kent’s office staff admitted they failed to inform me that the appropriate referral had not been received, resulting in my insurance not paying. It only makes sense that if I had known his office had not received the requested referral, I would’ve change the appointment until the referral was received. Dr. Kent’s office manager has refused my phone calls and subsequently placed my account in collections.

I recently had a thyroidectomy done by Dr. Kent. From beginning to end the experience was positive. Upon discovering that I had a solid nodule that was growing in my neck, I made an appointment with Dr. Kent who sat with me patiently for almost an hour making me feel comfortable, answering questions, and discussing my options. I felt fully informed when I left his office and was confident that the thyroidectomy was the best choice for me. The surgery which was done at the Vestavia Surgery Center- a wonderful location – went well and the recovery time was exactly as Dr. Kent had anticipated. I’m less than two weeks post-op and already feel 100% better, my scar is minimal and I am healing extremely well. I would highly recommend Dr. Kent. I recently had a thyroidectomy done by Dr. Kent. I had a great experience with Dr. Kent as well as his office staff. I had a staph infection on my foot and had been to the ER twice and to two different doctors offices. No one I mean no one looked or took care of this infection. I got an appointment with Dr. Kent whom I had never met. His staff got me an appointment very quickly. He was great. He took care of my wound extremely effectively. He treated my wound as well as gave me medicine which healed my wound in a week. He is amazing. His staff is amazing. Their office was very clean and all wore a mask. I would recommend him and his staff. I had a wonderful experience. I will be back if I have another issue. I was referred to Dr. Kent for my parathyroid surgery, along with a problem with my thyroid. I read the reviews, but decided to used him anyway after being told what an awesome doctor he is. I’m not sure of the situations, but I do know that this was my first ever surgery and Dr. Kent, his staff, and the entire hospital staff were wonderful. I did not meet one person who was even close to being rude. Any question we had, we would call, and his assistant would answer. Never acting like she was being bothered at all. If I have to have a surgeon in the future, or any family member, they will go to Dr. Kent. I wish all doctors had his personality. He made sure we were informed, and every question. Dr. Kent is not only a great surgeon but he is a wonderful human being. It was clear pretty quickly that I was not in need of surgery but he still took time to listen to my issue and helped me find the appropriate doctor. He saw the absolute desperation and pain on my face and he cared! He personally called a couple of doctors on my behalf to find the appropriate person for me to see. In a healthcare environment that is currently overloaded it meant the world to me that this man heard me! He went above and beyond to help me even when my problem wasn’t his specialty. i was sent to Dr. Kent by my dermatologist after an operation on my leg for cancer. The open wound was not healing. With in one week after my first visit to Dr. Kent the wound had made an amazing improvement. Two months later it was completely healed. I found Dr. Kent to be an excellent surgeon who explains what needs to be done and and if you follow his instructions you will be very satisfied with the results as I was. I also must add that his staff will make you want to come back just to see them. They are the most pleasant people to be around and make you feel at ease the moment you walk through the door. I highly recommend them all.

I was referred to Dr Kent for a nasty wound on my toe. I could not have asked for better care . I had seen several doctors and was making very slow progress under their care but after ONE visit with Dr Kent , I could already tell a huge difference. He was always very pleasant, personable , and professional. The staff including his medical records attendant, admitting nurse, receptionist , and individual nurses were amazing- probably the most efficient and nicest staff I have ever dealt with. After one visit we knew we were in the right place. I would highly recommend Dr. Kent III.

Dr Kent was awesome. I had great care from day one. I will use him again if I ever have to have any surgery myself or a family member. The care I received was state of the art. I was Dr Kent's patient during the first part of Covid 19 and I needed a surgery. Dr Kent spent time with me explaining the surgery and what the following events would be like even though I would go on to see several Dr.'s after he was through with his part. He has taken care of me for 3 years. He is a very smart, caring doctor. His nurses, receptionist are wonderful. I highly recommend him.

My family had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Kent just yesterday to perform a biopsy on my mother. His bedside manner truly brought our family a peace that I know was a Godsend! In the consultation he not only was relatable, but also honest in a gentle manner. He was very honest to say that there was clearly a need for a biopsy, but at the end of it all, what was needing to be removed has a 20% chance of it being anything, so until it’s something, it’s nothing. I’m very grateful to Dr Kent and his wonderful staff for helping our family keep and hold to peace during an unknown time.

He saved my life, plain and simple. Went to Brookwood ER in intense pain, difficulty breathing and I had lost consciousness. He quickly diagnosed a perforated colon and performed surgery. It was touch and go for days. He's pretty plain spoken, but I am too so we got along well. I got great care from him as well as hospital personnel. No complaints.

Dr. Raleigh B. Kent III This man has a special skill. I had Graves Disease. Looked for the best surgeon I could find. Did a lot of research to find the best. I was not looking for a friend,I needed a great surgeon. God Blessed me with Dr. Kent. He did a great job. Have never felt better. I really had an amazing experience within Dr. Kent. He is very knowledgeable about general surgery. I had a thyroidectomy and hernia repair and he did a really great job! I healed quickly and he helped me with any questions or concerns. He really went out of his way and called me personally at home, which is unheard of! If you want a great surgeon- this is your guy. While he does not "sugar-coat" your situation, he is empathetic. He takes the time to answer all your questions. His staff members are cheerful, knowledgeable, and responsive. The operating room nurses brag about his skill and efficiency. I recommend Dr. Kent for your surgical needs without reservation.

I was referred to Dr. Kent for a breast biopsy. He came with a high recommendation from the radiologist and two surgical nurses. I was not disappointed. He was open, honest and up front which was refreshing. It was non cancerous. I see him once a year for my exam with the same assurance that I am getting the best medical care. I had surgery a few years back I was a working woman every single day a provide to my child a wife and a family person I lost hope and believe after letting Dr Kent perform surgery on me???? I was referred to him to treatment my thyroid condition I walked in his office for the consultation he scheduled surgery immediately the same week as 4th of July I was scheduled to have out patient surgery to remove my thyroid well I went into his office with a voice (meaning) I could talk well my surgery went wrong to the point to where I was hospitalized and put in intensive care unit and I could not talk for almost 3 years I had to whisper to everyone witch cause me to never go back to work I was put on a machine and I also have several other health issue because of the surgery he performed I lost my job he wanted me to go to work not being able to talk not being able to walk because my balance had got throwed off not being about to breath like a normal person suppose my surgery was so awful I was depressed because I lost my job doing hospice they had to let me go because I New I couldn’t perform the work he tryed to send me back to work after going threw all of this I was put on disablity immediately within filing for it I had to go to mental health because I was so depressed and upset all the time because people could not understand me when I would try to talk and I also had to write letters to pay my bills and communicate with people threw text messages and pen and paper I recommend NO ONE I Mean NO One let him perform surgery because I was the one left with out answers I could say a lot more but I am so upset letting people no my condition witch is still very servere I also left 1 star just so I could write this review I guess I am still in this world because god was not ready for me yet I am still in disbelief of what happen to me I am a 35 years old female and if it wasn’t for some family members and church family there is no telling where I would be today I am still scared of doctors because of all the pain and suffering I went through my voice is still very weak he puncture my nerves in my neck and LIED to my family he made them think everything was fine with me for serveral hours and the whole entire time I was in the unit without my family knowing what was going on and why I was in the unit he made it sound like O she just had difficulty’s breathing O Really not really telling them what happen during my surgery BUt I no what happen and he does to ???? He's getting a one star just to be able to put a review up, he should not even be practicing, it's not like I'm unaware of all things medical and painful, I've had many Drs surgeries on my spine repeatedly, 4 failed back surgeries, fusion, titanium rods, screws, cages, bolts all down my lumbar, kidney stones, painful!!!! This review is written for Dr. Raleigh Kent and his Medical Assistant Lori who both are part of the Norwood Clinic and Brookwood Baptist. Dr. Kent and Lori are two of the most deplorable, disrespectful, vague, and low lifes that I have every had an encounter with in the medical field. They both will lie and go immediately into denfensive mood when they are called out in regards to thier lying and disrespect towards you the patient. They do not listen to the concerns of the patient. They speak over you when you are expressing concerns and will not give you (the patient that is paying their bills) and chance to speak. Lori is very indolent and does not want to do the specifics of her job title but instead will tell the patient that they can do it. Both of these individuals are only concerned about receiving a paycheck, not the responsible of taking care of patients. Anyone who works in a postion that is Medical should exemplify respect, concern, coutesy, and remain professional in any situation. He removed my gall bladder left a bile leak . I ended up in another hospital for 9 day with a different surgeon to put in a drain and also had to have a stent put in so my liver could heal where the hole was..If Dr Kent had taken a few minutes to check his surgery he could have seen the leak and save me more surgeries and months of still healing. Then claimed it wasn't his fault. I am still unable to work and in a lot of pain. Do not ever go to him for any surgery.I live in Tn went to Al to Dr.

HORRIFIC. My wife is in agony, shooting pain down her left leg, this quack was referred to us by an OB/GYN who admited "he came to office and told me he would love it if I would refer any patients who had pain near the tops of their thighs to him, as it may be inguinal hernias." This nut job looked at my wife, who has been in agony for 2 months, and while she was LAYING ON HER BACK IN A HOSPITAL BED pushed 3-4 times on her abs, said, "no hernia, have you been evaluated by a physciatrist?
