Dr. Shetty is very congenial and professional. I was very satisfied with the laser surgery on my left eye and will have surgery on my right eye on June 6th. I would recommend him for any type of cataract surgery.

Dr. Shetty was very thoughtful and professional. He explained all of the test results and listened to me and my concerns.

Rajesh Shetty, MD, is one of the best doctors I’ve ever encountered, and I’m so glad that he’s my ophthalmologist: not only is he a smart, creative, generally excellent clinician with particular expertise in cataracts and glaucoma, but he’s also an effective, compassionate patient advocate. In short, he’s the BEST of the best. Needless to say, I’m grateful that he’s the one doing my cataract surgeries (one down; one to go!).

Probably the most positive medical experience I've had in my life. I can finally see without glasses or contacts. There were no side effects while it was follow the directions given by Dr. Shetty and the nurses and everything worked out just the way it should have

Dr. Shetty did an in-office procedure to my left eye. It was helpful for relief in that eye. Due to damage to my left eve before I started going to Dr.Shetty. I have some major surgery ahead to that eye,. Dr, Shetty is the most amazing, innovative and competent eye surgeon. With every visit, I find improvement. I have total gratitude and appreciation for all he has done. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Shetty is very caring. He has taken care of my eyes and makes me feel comfortable and advises me what I need to do to take care of my glaucoma.

I drive my Viera FL to see Dr shetty and Dr Kostik. They are both the most competent ophthalmologist and surgeons. Their office staff is equally the best! If you need Specialust and people who are passionate about their work and the best Opthmology Drs. be sure to go to them.

I heard from several happy patients, that Dr. Shetty operated on them for cataracts and they had excellent results. I too had excellent results and am thankful that Dr. Shetty is my surgeon.

Dr Shetty did both my cataract surgeries in the past two weeks. Everything went according to plan and my eye sight is excellent. Dr Shetty and his employees in both the office and surgical center are wonderful. Would highly recommend Dr Shetty for cataract surgery and any other eye medical issue. My wife had the same surgery six years ago with Dr Shetty which is the reason I choose Dr Shetty.

Dr. Shetty is an excellent physician. He is friendly and has a good sense of humor, quickly putting his patients at ease. He listens to patients and explains his findings and recommendations in layman terms. When I first started with his practice several years ago after moving to Jacksonville ten years ago, I found that some of his staff members were not friendly. However, I have not encountered that problem in recent years.

We were told he was the best. Scheduled my dad for simple cataract surgery. I flew in from out of town to be here to help with the surgery. On the day of surgery they took labs to check electrolytes levels. We were told they couldn’t do the surgery because his levels were too high and that we should go to dialysis. Dialysis said to go to ER based on numbers reported. Dr. Shetty, prior to us leaving, said that he or his partner could do the surgery the next day if all gets resolved. Turns out the labs were taken incorrectly using the same blood sample for the two tests done. So my dad went to the hospital and incurred additional medical expenses for no reason. Dr. Shetty’s staff said they wouldn’t put him on the schedule till receiving discharge papers from hospital. We coordinated with all doctors and nurses to get that done. Shetty’s staff placed us on the schedule. One hour before we were scheduled to arrive Dr. Shetty inexplicably went back on what was said and cancelled the surgery. His staff wasn’t even entirely sure of the reason. We heard perhaps he didn’t want to be “rushed” for this delayed surgery and that he wanted to have another appt before scheduling surgery. That’s not at all what was said just one day prior. If he was going to proceed in wanting another appt first then that should’ve been said when we left the center. My dad went two days without food based on representation made by Dr. Shetty and because of the errors made by his staff. It’s been a horrible experience and not all how you treat patients. I have wasted money and time coming down here for this comedy of errors. UPDATE 6/16/21: Dr. Shetty reached out to us today and was very upset at my review. He indicated that my father was admitted to the hospital due to abnormal reading in EKG and that my father would need cardiology clearance before proceeding to surgery. I can totally understand that however this was the first time that was ever communicated. Had that been communicated perhaps things would’ve been different. You can’t expect to put people on the schedule then cancel ONE hour before and have them not react. Especially when there was clearly an issue with their procedures for lab tests that diminished our confidence. A staff member apologized for that mishap but Dr. Shetty didn’t seem to want to acknowledge that. The only indication for the cancellation given was that Dr. Shetty wanted to see him in the office before scheduling surgery. If we needed cardiology clearance why wasn’t that the reason given? Going to Shetty’s office doesn’t resolve that issue. He was very rude to me on the phone indicating that it was common sense to know that. He would ask me a question and not let me finish the answer. I asked him multiple times to let me finish my answer to his questions but he would NOT stop talking. He would not let my mother finish her answers either. He indicated I was trying to have it accommodate my schedule. The only thing I was trying to do is get it done as a scheduled to not leave my mother alone in Florida to care for my dad after surgery. She was terrified about it. Of course I want my father to be safe and had things been communicated clearly then we wouldn’t have an issue. My father’s nephrologist indicated the lab test done at the surgery center was complete nonsense. I pointed out that someone at the surgery center should’ve known something was off with the levels indicated from the lab tests as all hospital personnel indicated my father would be dead if they were that high. He was awake, coherent and had no trouble breathing. But again I kept being interrupted while making that point. Additionally, following the phone conversation we contacted the hospital and the reason for admission given was the electrolyte level. The hospital did not indicate it was due to anything with his heart. The electrolyte level used for admission was not anywhere near what tests at the surgery center showed. My wife has been a patient of Dr. Shetty over 12 years. She has always had very positive experiences with Dr. Shetty from previous experiences. Yesterday, receiving cataract sugery with Dr. Shetty at Southpoint Surgery Center was also a positive experience including exceptional professionals and friendly staff. Follow-up visit from surgery today at Lake Mead was somewhat disappointing with an unfriendly office staff member who abruptly responded to a simple question regarding Care Credit stating with a curt answer that she had already shared that information with her. My wife had to cancel surgery 6 months ago as her Mom was in Hospice and maybe she answered question at that time. Kind customer service requires same effort as a curt answer. As a senior citizen with eye problems, I was lucky to find Dr. Shetty. He performed necessary surgeries to improve my sight. He is an expert on the latest techniques and will keep you informed and relaxed. Dr. Shetty and his staff render the highest level of care.

Dr. Shetty is the most accomplished ophthalmic surgeon in the area, and the staff are all very nice. The offices seem to over-schedule to accommodate emergencies and their older customer base, so be prepared to wait.

Having severe glaucoma in one eye, I trust him enough to travel 3 hours for his services. His staff at both offices I go to are very professional and very friendly.
