Very professional experienced surgeon calmed my nerves did an amazing job I really appreciate Dr.R

Dr. Rajeev Rao diagnosed (from an ultrasound scan of my carotid arteries that my left carotid was 80% blocked and then clearly explained 3 options for treatment, the best being a TCAR procedure that required only 1 day in the hospital to successfully clear the obstruction and prevent a stroke. Dr. Rau will be my vascular surgeon for my upcoming back surgery with Dr. Leonel Hunt next week. When we had our consult, he was nothing short of amazing!!! As terrified as I am of this surgery, he took his time, explained exactly what he would be doing, how many of these surgeries he’s done, and showed the utmost care, respect and compassion in speaking with me-helping greatly to allay my tremendous fear. I can not say enough about him, and feel he is most definitely the right doctor for me. If you need a vascular surgeon-he is the one I pray you are lucky enough to have. I really like Dr Rao. I came in for a procedure to remove a filter in my neck. He was unfortunately unable to succeed. I was disappointed. His skill set is much higher in the operating room. That was all I cared about.

Dr. Rao was very helpful and spent a long time going over my medical issues and gave me a detailed understanding of my current health situation. Prior to my arrival he had already reviewed several of my MRI reports and images which was very helpful when we met to discuss

Dr. Rao has been my vascular surgeon for the past 8 years he continually corrects the issues I have been having with my right leg. He is, in my opinion, the finest vascular surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. He has also become a close friend I don't know what I would do without him. Thank you. Granted, Dr. Rao is skilled, but I feel like he's just very overbooked which leads him to be very brief and somewhat dismissive in my appointments. His front office staff is also VERY rude and unresponsive. They are horrible about calling you back for scheduling and seem so put out when they answer the phone. I once overheard them speaking to an elderly patient in the office who had some questions about a Rx as she was leaving and the woman at the desk asked to get back to her; it seemed somewhat pressing though and when the patient followed up on wait time, the person speaking to her snippily said: "I don't know, that's what I said you should come back tomorrow." The office staff and bedside manner leave much to be desired and it's just not worth the time & trouble to see him.

The Dr took alot of time since my history is extensive and he is very good at what he does. He has taken extra precations with me due to all my medical problems since I may have to have a carotid artery tumor removed he has shown that he wants me stable in all other areas before he would even perform a surgery on me. He was very patient and explained everything I needed to know and very very caring and personable. I was VERY impressed and I have been to MANY Drs. even at Mayo clinic..
