Rafael Tamargo

Dr. Tamargo performed life-saving neurosurgery on me in 2017. He was wonderful before, during, and after. The hospital itself and all of its personnel were equally as amazing for such an invasive surgery. Now, years later, you can barely see the scar, and I continue to be his patient.

Dr Tamargo is one of the most respected, caring, and appreciated neurosurgeons today. I personally was under his care in March of 2019 for 3 non ruptured brain aneurysms and the service that I got from the hospital once they knew I was his patient went from excellent to phenomenal. He’s definitely at the top of his class. I’ve emailed his office manager and Dr Tamargo has always gotten back to me within 24 hours. I’ve even had a post op follow up with Dr Tamargo and as I was leaving he walked out with me and told me that he’s so happy to be able to see people like myself have such success and apologized for rushing my appointment but there was a patient being emergency flown up to Baltimore from the Cayman Islands that has a ruptured brain aneurysm and he’s rushing to emergency surgery. This man took the time to meet with me and then sped off to go save a life. I wouldn’t recommend any else over Dr. Tamargo.

Dr. Tamargo is an excellent neurosurgeon, and he’s extremely kind. Neurosurgery is daunting, but he helped me ease my fears during the procedure and recovery when I had surgery for a cavernous malformation.

Dr. Tamargo performed an 11.5 hour neuro surgery on me in 2019. I can't put in to words how grateful I am for his patience before, during, and after the operation. I am pleased with my results and the continued care he shows. He is definitely one of a kind.

Excellent medical expert who patiently and completely answered my many questions during a recent diagnostic procedure.

Dr. Tamargo operate on me to clip two brain aneurysms which were unstable and close to rupturing. He is professional and kind. He takes however much time you need to understand your condition and what to expect from your surgery. When I first met him, it took me about five minutes to know I was in the best possible hands.

Dr. Tamargo performed sugery on me in February 2016 for an acoustic neuroma. In addition to his superior knowledge and extensive experience in removing these kind of tumors he also treated myself and my son with great kindness and compassion. He even took an interest in my sons which so impressed me. Even though I am completely deaf in one ear I am now back to enjoying my life as I did before the surgery. I feel blessed to have had him for my surgeon.
