Rachel Miriam Niknam

I scheduled my January annual appointment w/Dr. Niknam substituting for my regular Dr. at this practice who was away until April. She seemed to do a comprehensive examination in both eyes without explaining much information other than cataracts in both eyes had increased in size since last year's visit. While dictating various numbers and sizes to her transcriptionist and if I did not ask multiple questions, I wasn't sure she would have provided any new information. Upon completion of my exam, she mentioned that she specialized in Glaucoma Care and that I could see another Doctor for my next annual exam. Upon reading her profile It clearly states that she specializes in both Glaucoma and Cataract care. I am confused as to why I was treated so dismissively and with little concern. I have been aa patient at this practice for almost 20 years and am now hopping from one partner to the next. A lot of reviews echo my same sentiments regarding this practice that is sometimesy; sometimes you will get excellent care and sometimes you won't, depends on which provider is available for your appointment. This should not be the case with any medical practice who touts professionalism and providing outstanding care for their patients. Neither existed during my annual eye exam with Dr. Niknam.

Although the wait can be prolonged if Dr. Niknam has an emergency, she is apologetic and, she's a doctor, emergencies are part of the business!
