Dr. Purnell Traverso

These doctors declined to see my wife, claiming "we don't treat that condition." They didn't say which condition. I showed them the paperwork from the hospital. She has a bone fracture at the tip of her finger but I guess they won't make enough money from her "condition," so they sent us on our way.

Horrible experience at this doctor’s office, overpay ($550) for a wrist support that my insurance didn’t cover because the doctor’s office needed to get approval from them first, but they should have checked and let me know!! Tried to get in contact with them first billing department, spoke to Wanda and another lady several times but weren’t able to help me; then I call the doctor’s assistant left several messages but never got a reply from them!! I’ve been paying them and last time I call to make a payment I told the lady that I wanted to pay the balance ($150) and for the past 3 months I’ve been getting a bill for $100!! So today I call billing department again and make another payment for $100!! Definitely not going back to this doctor or recommend him to anyone!!

Not only is Dr. Traverso a wonderful surgeon, but he is so incredibly kind and caring as well!! I most highly recommend him!!

Dr Traverso is not only at the top of his field, he is truly a wonderful man.

Dr. Traverso is absolutely wonderful. Very caring and spends as much time with you as needed. Surgery was everything he described and very pleased with the results. Will definitely go back to him again if needed. Wonderful bedside manner. I wish all doctors were as caring as he is.

I am very grateful to Dr. Traverso and his staff for the exceptional care they provided me after I fractured my wrist and injured my thumb. From the moment I walked into his office, I felt confident that I was in the best hands possible. Dr. Traverso took the time to thoroughly explain my injury on the X-rays he had taken, the treatment options available, and how my osteoporosis and arthritis were expected to slow the healing process. He was patient and understanding as I asked questions and expressed my concerns throughout the seven and a half months required for healing. I am now in the physical therapy and rehabilitation process he prescribed, and my wrist and hand are approaching my before-injury state thanks to his excellent care. I would highly recommend Dr. Traverso to anyone with a serious wrist or hand injury or problem. He’s the best!

It was great except the pain from the shot. Dr Traverso is a very personable Dr. He’s easy to talk to and I trust him !!!

Dr. Traverso took time to explain why my hand was experiencing carpal tunnel, what needed to be done (nerve conductor) and options I can do before he received the results. He gave me a cortisone shot that I was afraid to get and looked away telling him to let me know when he starts. He said ok, you're done. I was pleasantly surprised. The surgery was incredible , 3 days with a wrap then after I removed it and within a week I was using my hand. The following week I went bowling. The follow-up visits were supportive and educational to me on how to help it heal completely...minor massage. He is compassionate, takes his time with you and I would gladly recommend him to anyone need a hand orthopedic. Wish I could rate him 10 stars!!!

On the 3 visits to Dr. Traverso my hand started to feel better. Pain practically disappeared. Dr Traverso took all the time to hear my Mother Maria Ordonez. Thank you so much Dr. Purnell Traverso!

This made me believe that all doctors are merely the same but let me tell you… the difference between them and Dr.Traverso is like night and day. Dr.Traverso is a breath of fresh air. His kindness is beautiful and his passion for his work is contagious. I was super anxious because I’ve been suffering with some pain in my hand for over a while. Dr. Traverso is a very knowledgeable Physician in this field. He takes his time with his patients and explains to them thoroughly what their treatment options are for their medical condition. I highly recommend him for this Specialty.

Dr Traverso is a very competent, patient, educated, thorough and informative hand surgeon/doctor. He explained very clearly how to deal with my wrist fracture and for me to be patient allowing time for it to heal. Always available to answer any questions.

I first went to Dr Traverso to have a cyst removed from the inside of my right thumb. It had gotten large and was bothering me when I wrote. He removed it without leaving any scar. Dr Traverso was Very professional and personable & His staff was great..so in 2018 when I broke my wrist, he put on a cast & took good care of it. Great experience with Dr. Traverso after getting a misdiagnosis from another doctor. Very knowledgeable and communicates all of the details regarding the injury and what options are recommended. Dr. Traverso did wonderful job. He fixed my broken hand and now I can use my right hand as I did before. No inflammation, no pain. Thank you doctor!!!

Dr. Traverso is really awesome I have been suffering with trigger finger on my ring finger right hand for about two months I kept thinking it was going to heal but it never did. So I finally decided to go to a hand specialist and I picked him and he was absolutely wonderful. He gave me an injection and that joint in that finger it didn’t even hurt when he gave me the needle and within a day the pain was already subsiding and he gave me the finger exercises to do which I did every day and within six weeks my trigger finger Was completely healed. He has a wonderful disposition and mannerism very very pleasant and I would recommend him highly.

After having been in pain for over two months and wasted visits to two Urgent Care Centers and one Ortho Clinic, I was referred to Dr. Traverso by my daughter's doctor. He performed hand surgery on my right hand and Thank GOD today I am able to use my right hand again pain free. Dr. Traverso is exceptional as he is caring and very knowledgeable, recognizing my problem immediately. He explained my condition, corrected the problem and was available at all times, including follow up care. I will highly recommend him to family, friends and strangers. I had Hand weakness and numbness in Pinky and ring finger, after testing was performed Dr Traverso concluded i had Cubital and Carpal tunnel, Dr Traverso is Simply the best Surgeon for these Issues, I am 3 days removed from my surgery which was done at elbow and Wrist and i am in no pain from the procedure, I already feel my hand strength stronger and Numbness is slightly improved ( it will take over a year to return to normal due to the rate the nerve regenerates ( 1 MM a day). Dr Traverso's bed side manner and professionalism is off the charts, I would highly recommend Dr Traverso and his whole office and medical Team

Dr Traverso has performed two separate successful surgeries on me. He fixed my ailments and I healed fast. He is personable, has great bedside manner, and takes the time to answer every question you may have. Highly recommend.

Had a lump growing on my right middle finger for 20 years. When it became the size of a golf ball, it had to come off. Went to Dr. Traverso because his office is across the street from my PCP. Glad I did! After an exam & X-rays we scheduled surgery. The bandages came off after only a few days. The stitches came out two weeks later. It’s now a month later and the scar is almost invisible. My finger doesn’t hurt, and movement is normal. I’m back to having a normal finger! Thank you Dr. Traverso! There was no pain right from the start. I never needed to take the pain killers he prescribed after the surgery. Very happy with the treatment and results. If my lump ever grows back, I’m going to Dr. T.

Unfortunately I must give my experience a 0. I made an appointment at 3p to see Dr.Traverso. I was coming from Miramar and had ran into some traffic on the turnpike. I called the office an spoke to Jody to explain that I wouldn't be able to make it there early, because of the traffic I was experiencing. I was told by Jody that if my paperwork wasn't filled out by 3pm that I would not be able to see the doctor. We spoke at 2:30p I was passing the Atlantic Blvd exit an then I thought about what I was just told. I felt very uncomfortable. I have never been told by a doctor's office that if I don't get there early to fill out the paperwork before my appointment time. That I will not be seen my the doctor. With that being said I did not feel welcomed as a new patient an felt very uncomfortable going there as a patient. I called back and canceled my appointment My past experiences with doctor's office was never this way. I was always told no worries, drive safe we will see you when you get here, no problem. I wasn't told neither of those things when I spoke to Jody. Which really made the decision for me. The lack of courtesy customer service and compassion. I've only had one consultation with Dr. Purnell, but I can honestly say that he's perhaps one of the best doctors/professional I've ever had the pleasure of consulting with. Dr. Traverso and the staff are top notch. The staff is very friendly. My appointments are on time. Dr. Traverso takes plenty of time to explain the diagnosis. I’ve never felt rushed. He’s very available to answer all of my questions. Everything he’s told me about what to expect has been spot on.

Dr. Traverso completed a carpal tunnel release and ganglion cyst removal in June 2020. Prior to having surgery, Dr. Traverso did everything in his power to avoid surgery as that was our last step. I have to say that I have never met such an amazing, talented, intelligent and caring doctor like Dr. Traverso. He really took the time to understand my situation and care and always ensure to make the best and safe decision possible. Have been treated for years by various doctors and various methods for trigger fingers on almost all fingers. The good news is Dr. Traverso. What you'll find is a man that is smart, compassionate, easy to talk to and just nice person. Glad he was recommended to me.

Dr. Traverso is the kindest most caring doctor I have ever met. I took my daughter to see him. She was diagnosed with 7 fractures in her hand/wrist. My daughter has Tourette’s and has a punching tic and punched the wall until she demolished her hand. He has never had a PT be able to get out of a cast before, she got out of 4. He was so caring, understanding and patient. I know, unfortunately, that we will be seeing him again. I would not hesitate to take my daughter back to him or refer anyone to him. He’s the best! Clinically as well!!

I came for my initial visit and 2 follow visits all I can tell you that it was very pleasant I would highly recommend dr. Traverso..Even though he probably already knew what was wrong he took the time out to listen to me and really engage I really appreciated that..He figured out what was wrong and got everything back working properly in my hand I can't thank him enough.. I wish I could give more stars.. His staff is very pleasant as well let me not leave that out

Dr. Traverso helped me with a workmen’s Comp case. He examined my injured thumbs and sent me to a wonderful occupational therapist. He was very professional and caring. He gave me guidance for my care, including options to see the therapist or have a cortisone injection. I would recommend him highly.

on 2/25/20 I had an appointment that was changed without my knowledge prior to that Aimee called me on 2/11/20 to reset appt. I advised Aimee I was driving but she insisted on having the conversation wanting to reset my appt. I told her no I do not want to reset my, at this time Aimee stated I am being difficult I asked her to repeat the I told her her I have to go the last thing I needed to do was have a accident while arguing with Aimee while I am driving my car.

Dr Traverso is a specialist who takes the time to relate to patients. He is patient and takes time to listen to how his patient is feeling. He explains in plain English what to expect.

Dr. Traverso, Aimee and his staff give excellent and thorough care. I highly recommend this practice for all hand issues, especially carpal tunnel.

When I first met him I was in so much pain and only averaged about two and a half hours of sleep for over a year. He told me I would be able to get a good nights rest after the first surgery on my left hand. I am now back to my normal sleep mode and have no more sharp pain.

I recently relocated from New Jersey. I started to have issues with both wrists and my right elbow. A friend recommended Dr. Traverso and I'm so happy she did. He is AMAZING, the BEST doctor I've seen in Florida since I relocated. I highly recommend him, besides being extremely intelligent, he is warm, sweet and courteous!!! He takes his time explaining your diagnosis, the surgical process and answering any questions. I wish more doctor's in Florida were like him. Initial visit April 9, 2019 with a fractured left wrist. Very busy office but well worth the wait to receive such professional compassionate care throughout my course of 5 visits. Office staff and all assistants were very efficient. I have never met a more engaging physician than Dr. Traverso. He explained my xrays and proposed course of treatment thoroughly and even applied my first cast himself. Very impressive physician and wil always be my first choice for any further hand or wrist issues.
