Excellent surgeon. Every healed exactly when and how he said it would. Beyond thankful for Dr. Benhaim for giving me feeling back in my hand and for his bedside manner and professionalism. There are no words to describe how thankful I am.

Please stay away from this surgeon for any elective procedures, particularly if you are a medically complex patient. He was objectively negligent in my care and the months of planning that went into my surgery. This resulted in an unnecessary hospital admission, traumatic surgical and post-op experience, and weeks of adverse health effects. The hospital and practice will ignore your complaints and desperate requests for help while you are enduring this trauma. Please, for your own sake, seek the help of a different surgeon who will treat you with the empathy and respect that you deserve as a human being seeking healing

I went to Dr Benhaim for a wrist fracture. He said I also had a cyst and needed a cortisone injection. I asked how we could confirm the diagnosis, he answered I would need an MRI, I said I have one (which he clearly hadn't looked at for the fracture), and at that point he dismissed the MRI, and said he didn't need it to confirm the diagnosis. I asked for the risks & side effects of the cortisone injection and he repeatedly answered there were none. I felt very pressured to accept the injection. After the injection, he left the room, leaving me alone and I fainted and fell. I later got a second opinion, which was: you don't have a cyst, he just wanted to charge the insurance (and you) for an extra procedure. I went to Dr Benhaim for a wrist fracture. I had bad luck with a strong dog pulling my hand and breaking my finger in a twisted way. After that got referred to the worst orthopedic doctor (he didn't help supporting the bone in a straight position) and in 6 weeks I couldn't use my right hand at all. That broken finger bone healed in a twisted position so I couldn't bent my finger without it going 45 degrees sideways. Dr. Benhaim did an hour and a half surgery and now I'm finally getting back to normal movement.

After seeing many specialists for my wrist pain and locked finger joints, I finally ended up with Dr. Benhaim. He performed an extensive exam and was the first doctor who was able to give me a definitive answer as to what had been going on for the past year. He took his time to answer all my questions and perform other tests to confirm his findings. After my surgery, he was extremely attentive and caring. When I had been experiencing post-op pain, he reached out on a weekend evening to make sure I was doing ok until he could see me in office. He is an amazing surgeon, wonderful bedside manner, and truly cares about his patients.

I had a simple compressed ulnar nerve repositioning (left elbow) utilizing regional anesthesia scheduled at UCLA Westwood with Prosper Benheim. The results were very disappointing. There are so many other hand surgeons available that are so much more competent that I see no reason for a patient seeking elective surgery to seek care from this individual. He seemed so enamored with himself that he rode his motorcycle to the surgery suite for my surgery. Caveat emptor. Good luck.

Dr Benhaim recently completed successful releases of Dupytren's contractures in two fingers and my thumb. This is the fourth procedure he has performed on my hands without complications. I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Benhaim. I am most appreciative of his professionalism and abilities. I must also comment on the quality and care of his assistant Juan. I had xiaflex treatment and procedure and Dr. Benhaim was amazing in every aspect of the procedure and rehab therapy & recovery. He very thoroughly explained the procedure with possible side effects. He also answered every question that I asked. Very compassionate. I am going back to have my second hand done by him. He could have opted for a very extensive surgery with a minimum of a 5 month recovery in which he would have made much more money. However he encouraged me to have the xiaflex. He is located 100 miles from me & there are now physicians much closer that are qualified to preform this procedure but I choose to go back to Dr. Benhaim. At the time of the 1st procedure he was one of only a handful in the U.S. licensed to preform this. About 8 years ago, I lost almost 4 of my fingers in a machine and all other doctors were afraid of operating on my right hand. He put all back together in a 7 hour surgery. He is the best of the best in his field

I have been irreparably harmed by this man. I will be crippled for the rest of my life because of his poor care. He performed four (!) failed surgeries on me. I had trust in the UCLA system so I did not question his care. But, after three failed surgeries, I sought a second opinion. After on visit, the other hand surgeon whom I saw found a huge issue that he completely missed. I am crippled for the rest of my life. I have PTSD, as diagnosed by psychiatrist, because of the pain I experienced. He said himself that he sees 50 to 60 patients per day in clinic. That means that he is only spending maybe 10 minutes reviewing patient charts, imaging and speaking with patients. Because I can no longer work, I will do everything I can to help spread the word of my hugely negative experience.

After a year of being told the pain I was still feeling from a trip and fall after my wrists “had healed” were due to my fibromyalgia... I was defeated and miserable. A friend referred me to Dr. benhaim by chance. And it WASN’T in my head. He did cubital and carpal tunnel release surgery. The horrific pain I carried for so long was instantly gone (although the surgery did hurt, I can’t lie lol) in June 2018. Dr. Benhaim gave me my life back. It’s impossible to describe how amazing he is. In addition to his knowledge, he’s patient, kind, thorough, and treats you like you’re family. I’ve met random people all over LA who sing the exact same praises when they here he was my surgeon. Some who suffers FAR worse and longer than I did. So grateful to be under his care! The world would be a much better place if all doctors were like him!!!

My husband had surgery with him for a previous injury. We understood that the surgery would be difficult and I think he tired hard. The surgery left him worse then before. Not a single call from him and he didn't even contact him to see how it the recovery went.

Right hand index finger surgery - one month and a half later 7 weeks after the surgery I cannot slip my hand into my pants' pocket without fear of the extreme sensitivity of the skin… Re-educating my right hand after weeks of impairment by the surgery. Still pain if I touch something hard. The surgery, probably un-necessary and probably poorly executed, had a huge toll on my emotions, lots of suffering because of pain, fear and inability to do nearly anything (I’m a photographer and a class handyman), not to mention anger. Probably Dr Benhaim didn’t know I’m a photographer because he didn’t asked, so he didn’t discuss with me the overwelming consequences of this surgery on my everyday life and my economy. Other doctors have given me very few options for my wrist and the future was bleak. Dr Blenhaim has great insight to reduce pain and give me my mobility back. He is very innovative and knows what he is doing. I am very glad I met him. If I proceed with surgery, I will update the review.

Excellent doctor and person... I had a painful left index finger. He quickly diagnosed it as multiple issues. He treated my finger quickly and efficiently. Dr. Benhaim is extremely professional, kind, smart, patient, compassionate, skilled, and efficient. I feel lucky to have such a competent doctor from UCLA to take care of my left hand.
