Dr. Pierre Asmar

Dr.Pierre Asmar is a compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable provider. He helped me conceive my now 27 year old twins after years of failed attempts with other providers. I have never forgotten him over the years, and I never will. Thank you so much you are the best.

I have received a tubal reversal and a full IVF cycle with all the bells and whistles. Both procedures were paid in full up front! And I kept receiving notices from my insurance company for denial of coverages so I called the front desk and let them know to stop billing my insurance company and I was told to disregard the notice. Then today I get a bill in the mail for 5800$$!!! A YEAR LATER FOR SERVICES I ALREADY PAID FOR!!! I had even received a refund from them because I paid for embryo storage and I don’t have embryos to store. What a scam! Beware! It’s totally unacceptable!

I’ve reviewed the office but wanted to review Dr. Asmar. I couldn’t get any answers as to what was going on with me. Doctor Asmar was so kind and compassionate. That’s something I’ve found that is lacking with so many doctors today. He cared about my well being and desire to have a child. He was never pushy with anything. I highly recommend him to anyone. After dealing with 1 miscarriage, 2 failed IUIs, an abdominal myomectomy and laparoscopic surgery to block off a hydrosalpinx and remove a polyp, Dr. Asmar and his team were our saving grace. We started the IVF journey in October 2020 and after 1 try we are now 10 weeks pregnant. The staff is very thorough and precise in their methodology. Their embryologist are top notch. The office staff is super friendly abd welcoming! Dr. Asmar is very compassionate and empathetic which are great qualities for a doctor to have. He's an expert in his field and I could always email him at anytime with concerns and he'd respond shortly after and get me in the office quickly if needed. I highly recommend this fertility center for those struggling with conception. Don't get discouraged please note all of the obstacles we had.

Doctors Asmar and Banks were absolutely amazing to work with. After suffering 3 miscarriages they were able to help my husband and I successfully conceive and carry a beautiful baby girl (Due in January). I don't know what I would have done without them. Anytime I called with any concern their team was so accommodating and would fit me in that same day. The whole staff was an absolute pleasure to work with! I was absolutely pleased with the services I received during my time at Washington Fertility Clinic. From the amazing front desk staff Ms. Carol Smith and Ms. Ismary always greeting me by name with a pleasant smile to the amazing staff Lin and Dr. Asmar always gentle always honest and he definitely has shown himself to be THE BEST in the fertility business. Very punctual & pleasant people. I wish there was a 10 star rating because they all would get a perfect 10 from me! Thank you so much Washington Fertility Clinic you guys and gals made this customer one pleased and satisfied customer!

Horrible staff. ROSE AND ' ALONDRA ' WERE HORRIBLE ! I've never seen two front desk have so much attitude at 7:30 in the morning, towards someone that they don't know. Very bad for a first impression of this clinic. Dr. Asmar and Dr. Banks were amazing, however they should consider who they hire to be the face of their practice !

I just want to say we traveled from Pa to Va which is about 5 hours a way. It is worth the trip the new Dr he has in there Dr Banks I just love her I can not wait to be pregnant and they will make it happen I have a lot of faith and confidence in them the whole team is great

If I could rate the Annandale office below a #1 I would. The doctor I used quit directly after my procedure, doctor Asmar was involved in my procedure as well. I have had a billing issue for 3 years that is still unresolved. The billing coordinator Shaun and Lan are extremely rude. They keep sending me collection notices with different amounts for the same service even though I provided a receipt that my account was paid in full. I have debated suing this office as the stress has delayed my process in attempting to get pregnant. This is the short version of my experience. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. My husband and I saw Dr. Asmar 25 years ago for infertility issues. Though I can't say that I remember any of the support staff - but I don't recall any negative aspects either - I DO remember Dr. Asmar, that he was caring, careful, and thorough. Horrible place. Dishonest Doctor and dishonest staff. They do not run the appropriate tests and they try to get people in and out as like a fast-food restaurant. Do not use this place!

Spent 3 1/2 years doing ivf cycles. Advanced maternal age, and the end result is my(own egg) amazingly intelligent and beautiful child that just started preschool. My success story, but my wish for everyone. K.L.

This is not just a case of a few unhappy patients. If you want to actually get pregnant and have a child, RUN to another clinic.

I completed two IUI cycles and 3 IVF cycles with Dr. Asmar. I would be told time and time again that Angela was going to call for my insurance approval only to find that it had not been done....one time she snapped, "I haven't had time for that." Each time I was delayed. Dr. Asmar was great until my benefits ran out and then he turned and said we had no hope and should consider adoption. We went to Shady Grove and on the first cycle conceived our twins. Check SART data!

Dr. Asmar is SO caring and takes so much time with his patients. He explains everything. The entire office staff is so sweet and doesn't rush you- whether in the office or on the phone. Ms. Angela especially :) I have seen other reproductive endocrinologists in this area, and I can vouch for Dr. Asmar being significantly more involved in my actual health history. I am very pleased with Dr. Asmar- I am an RN and and have dealt with so many doctors & he definitely has a wonderful bedside manner!

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR... Just as the first review states. He hides behind his practitioner and nurses. Carol the financial person doesn't know what she is doing. They bill you for what you already pay for and they make you pay upfront and then make you wait to get reimbursement from your health insurance. By the way my health i surance at the time was 100% coverage. They say they will submit the claim. However, my claim was never submitted and each time I called to speak to Carol she is out to lunch or busy. She will never return your call. But the worse thing was my egg retrieval. First off they retrieved my eggs at 16mm or less. Not one egg was above 16mm. I've had ivf before and everyone knows eggs shouldn't be retrieved until at the very least 18mm. Well because of that all the eggs didn't make it to blast except for one. Well that one fertilized but on the day before transfer I got a call stating the embryo just stopped growing. Well if it had been able to mature in the first place that may not have happened. However, above that is the fact that my egg retrieval was horribly painful. They had to offer and give me percocet right after I woke up and to take home. I was in pain for about 3-4 days. When I went to the bathroom right after awaking from my retrieval there was a great amount of bleeding. Like I said, I've had IVF 3 times before this and never once did my retrieval cause me any pain and never once did I bleed. I only went to this doctor because he was cheap and what do you expect? You get what you pay for! I got pregnant with my very first ivf at a different doctors office but I had a miscarriage. I didn't go back there because my insurance at that time only allowed 3 attempts at ivf. If I could afford the 20k that my original doctor charged I would never have tried Dr.Asmar! He was telling me that I had pcos when I in fact did not. I've never missed one period in my lifetime unless I was pregnant and it's very regular every 28 days. I have seen all the reviews and am glad I did not make my choice based of those. I have been seeing him for the last few months and him and his staff are the complete opposite of what is described in these reviews and of the experience I had at a larger better-known fertility practice here in the DC area. They are attentive, they remember my name and my husband's name every time I walk in the door, and the doctor has been present for all of my appointments, even if it was just to poke his head in to say hello. I also spoke to a nurse at INOVA that also boasted about how awesome he was as her doctor. I should note, she now has a healthy baby boy, thanks to him. Anyway...please make your decision based on your personal experiences not on reviews because not everyone will have a bad experience and I can speak on that for sure! Dr Asmar is very caring. Every time I visited the Annandale location the Staff was extremely friendly, like family yet professional. Lan was he best with drawing blood. Dr Asmar takes his time to explain everything. Never felt rushed. You can really feel that his work is his passion. Always honest and knowledgeable as to what works and what may not. Entire staff is supportive during this stressful time. I have referred many patients to him that have had the same experiences as myself.

I wouldn't recommend going to this practice. I have to agree with recent comments. Dr. Asmar raised his prices unexpectedly and refused to honor his quote for IVF agreed on the day of consultation on Feb 2016. I was shocked with the high price the month I was supposed to start stimulation 04/2016. Carol was kind to us during this entire ordeal, and spoke to Dr. Asmar but he refused to honor the price because he wanted to keep a competitive fee. Extremely disappointed by this unprofessionalism.

Office intentionally misrepresents fees at beginning, making treatment sound cheaper than really will be, then spring MUCH higher charges on pt & threaten to cancel IVF if not paid immediately. They won't explain WHY charges are higher, questions posed to dr are ignored. Dr pretends to be unaware of how office is mismanaged, but he DOES in fact know! Nurse doesn't know anything (barely speaks English), receptionist refuses to take messages, & entire clinic is a SHAM- patients are just $$ SIGNS!
