Dr. Peter Clifford Wilmot

He is a good doctor and treated my daughter well with compassion when she was diagnosed with UC.

We were assigned Dr. Wilmot when my sons regular GI doctor went out on maternity leave. My son was being treated by Wilmot for ulcers that came back after stopping meds a few months prior. He had no clue the cause of the ulcers. He did start treating him with meds to heal them. I called him 2x in one day telling him that my 16 year old was in severe pain. My son was on day 11 of the meds and he told me that it takes up to 2 weeks for the meds to work. That was it. He didn't say take him to the ER, nothing... No compassion. That night he was in so much pain that I decided to drive 3 hours to the ER at CHOP. My son was hospitalized for 2 weeks. Dr. Wilmot did not know this in the beginning. I'm assuming he does now that they requested all his records. Before that, Not once did he follow up to see how he was feeling or try to come up with a solution of why he's getting the ulcers. Everything that they tested him for was negative or in the normal range. I was told on the Tuesday that I called him about my son's pain that he was going to have a conference with colleagues that Thursday to pick thier brains and figure out what to do next. I never heard from him again. Don't waste your time with a doctor who doesn't have the bedside manner to listen or care about his patients. I'm driving 6 hours total back and forth to CHOP to take my son to knowledgeable doctors that give him great care. I never write reviews but I was so unhappy with this doctor that I'm hoping to save another family from going through what we went through. My son has been a patient of Dr. Wilmot's for 6 years. We were lucky our pediatrician recommended him. He is patient, kind, thorough in his explanations and sympathetic to what my son is going through with his diagnoses of UC. With the many hospitalizations, and ultimate surgery, that my son had, Dr. Wilmot always made a point to come visit him in the hospital, even on his days off. My son is very comfortable with Dr. Wilmot and I know we both feel fortunate to be in his care.

Felt very rushed, my concerns were written off as mommy-paranoia (turns out it might be celiac), horrible bedside manner. Would definitely avoid him if possible.

My child was having major digestive issues. He gladly performed a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy and declared she had no GI issues. It was most likely stress and she should see a therapist. 6 months later she emergency surgery to remove a major growth removed from her intestines. I was a fool to trust/listen to him and my child paid for it dearly. The tests he performed only show a small section of the GI tract and the growth would not have been seen on those. He is not your child's advocate
