Beware, game playing from the Administration in this office cost me over $1,800 out of pocket. First my experience with Dr. Shelley himself went fine. Had two separate appointments and everything I needed on an endodontic level got taken care of. My disappointment and frustration was with the administration and front desk. For two weeks before my first appointment and after following up with them several times, they could not give me a straight answer of the amount my insurance would cover for the root canal. They gave me the option of rescheduling another appointment in three weeks as a pain in my mouth grew or proceeding without them giving me a clear answer about my coverage. I was told "it shouldn't be a problem and most of the procedures usually covered. After everything was done six month later, I get a bill from their office out of nowhere for over $1,800 and they call a few days later saying they want me to make a payment before they they send me to collections. I had no idea my insurance in fact did not cover anyting. I don't know if this information was deliberately withheld for me in hopes I would not go to another endodontist or they just simply couldn't get their act together. Either way I'm out of pocket. And left feeling deceived and disappointed. Don't make my mistake, double check everything and do your research. I had a very good experience with Dr. Shelley. I was experiencing pain in one of my molars and my dentist fitted me for a new crown thinking that would probably take care of the situation. Two days later I was in horrible pain and was referred to Dr. Shelley for a root canal. He took me right in and two hours later I was on my way home feeling much better. His office was very nice and accommodating. I will definitely use him again if I should ever have another one. I might add his shots in my mouth were very gentle. During procedure, I would have appreciated more step-by-step explanation of what he was doing. I think it is very unprofessional of him and the assistant to be carrying on side conversation while working on me. I'm not unconscious, just immobilized. Makes me feel like they're not paying attention to the task.

This is my first Root Canal and I was very scared and nervous for today's service but Dr.Shelley, Paula and the front desk staff made my experience nothing but amazing. They were all so friendly, understanding, and did such great job with calming my nerves. Thank you to all the staff for making my nervous come down and for taking such good care of me without any pain.

I thought that smart medical equipment could make any procedure successful and I underestimated the importance of a doctor’s experience and skills. I had to pay twice for a root canal because Dr. Shelley made a mistake and couldn’t correct it. Find another endodontist now, don’t repeat my mistake.

Getting a root canal done here, was an absolutely great experience. I never had one dine ever and the Dr. and office staff really made me feel comfortable and explained everything that was going on in the process. I think I even dosed off a little. Honest, gentle and worth putting your trust in. I have had plenty of dental work done by dishonest dentists. Dr Shelley told me I just had sensitive teeth. My general dentist wasn't sure if I needed a few root canals and told me that I should go to a specialist. I know of another place I went to years ago that had me get two unneeded root canals. Dr.Shelley and his staff were patient and kind during a difficult time. I am suffering from TMJ but was certain I needed my tooth retreated or extracted. The pain was terrible. Dr Shelley was able to guide me to the right doctors to help my TMJ. I highly recommend Dr. Shelley.

I have had work done by Dr. Shelley 3 times in the last 9 years (on different teeth). He has always been extremely thorough and willing to explain the work in a way I can understand. He is conservative about what work he does- he won't do something if it isn't absolutely needed. Great guy to ask for a second opinion/ peace of mind too!

I was recommended to Dr Shelley and the team at Elm Endodontists for a tooth that my dentist was unsure as having a fractured root. They were able to see me straightaway and diagnosed the problem. He is very careful and ensure the diagnosis was correct. I had a root canal that was, in the doctor's words, "straightforward". He was very good about managing the pain during the process. He finished the work quickly. The same night I was able to chew and drink cold beverages on the right side of my face with no pain. I highly recommend Dr. Shelley. I was referred to him by my dentist in 2018 for problems with a root canal performed years earlier. He was able to perform a second root canal on the tooth the day I was scheduled to see him for the first time. I was in and out in just a few hours! Unfortunately, my tooth did not cooperate and a year later my dentist referred me back to Dr. Shelley to see if the tooth was worth saving as it still wasn't healing properly. Dr. Shelley saved my tooth by performing a third root canal - he was incredibly thorough and was able to find the cause for the continued issues. This began as a routine root canal but I developed an infection. Dr. Shelley came in during the night on a holiday and took care of the immediate symptoms, prescribed an effective antibiotic, and rescheduled the final procedures, which ended up great.

Dr. Shelley did an extensive evaluation on a tooth and gave me several options which was extremely helpful understanding the depth of the problem. He has excellent communication skills, a warm and knowledgeable staff. I choose to Dr. Shelly as a result of his excellent handling of a root canal several years ago.

I was so worried about the root canal with a difficult tooth, but I have to say not only was it informational, but totally painless!

I needed a root canal and another Endo stated he couldn't do it because the canal was calcified. When I contacted Dr. Shelley he looked at my X-Rays and wanted to take a look at the tooth. After a brief consultation, Dr. Shelley felt comfortable that he could successfully perform the procedure and he saved my tooth! He and his team are very professional, he listened to my concerns, formulated a plan and I trust his judgement entirely. If you need to see an Endo, please make sure you consult with Dr. Shelley.

I had previous treatment on my tooth with another endodontist, with a questionable outcome. I saw Dr Shelley for a second opinion. I wish I would have gone to him sooner. The office staff is amazing! I went in for a root canal but when I let Dr. Shelley know that I was moving cross-country in 3 weeks, he advised that I go to another endodontist to allow for continuous care and check-ins. I've been seeing Dr. Shelley for years. I recommend him to everyone looking for an endodontist. I have even had my daughter see him to have her root canal completed. He is very thorough, skilled, and very personable. He would be your perfect choice!
