Dr. Huszar was wonderful with my teen daughter. He does have an Eastern European accent, which on top of the N-95 face mask makes you have to concentrate on his words a little harder in the beginning, but after the first minute or two, we didn’t even notice his accent. He was extremely through and spent a great deal of time asking questions to help to diagnose the source of my daughter’s headaches. Even though we had to drive almost two hours to his Lakeland office to be seen, I would 100% do it again. We would definitely recommend him to anyone whose child or teen needs a neurological consult.

I'm not here to degrade anyone. I rarely post negative remarks. However, it is difficult for me as a parent not share my experience with other moms to avoid wasting almost a year of giving someone the benefit-of-the-doubt to eventually have to change providers. Our initial visit, we waited a total of 2 hours due to a patient emergency before us- understandable. Well of course my little one was restless, hungry and ready to go. The goal of our visit was to check for nerve damage due to previous chemo treatments. Within 10 mins he seemed to be diagnosing her with potential adhd. As we talked I quickly realized that he passively listened to me and had his mind made up. He was not interested in my view as an parent nor educator. To be opened minded I shared his concerns with her teachers, school physiologist, a ESE specialist and primary doctor- no one shared his concerns. Trying to remain opened minded I expressed to him that we would monitor her and if we see something concerning we would definitely get an eval. This did not satisfy him so every follow up I would spend more time enduring his agitated tone expressing why we should do as he recommended rather than dealing with the initial reason for our visit. If you need a doctor who believes in teamwork and values parent views, I do not believe this doctor would be a good fit for your family. I'm not here to degrade anyone. Dr.Huszar is an amazing neurologist and has done so much for my daughter Julianna. My daughter has a few health issues one being tonic/clonic seizures and also physical and vocal tics. Dr.Huszar has taken his time to hear us out about everything that is going on and has helped my daughter so much. I wouldn’t want any other neurologist for my child because he is the very best! We see him in person and in video calls and he is always professional and caring. He listens to his patients and their parents and then gives input to what he believes is happening. He has also explained everything to us step by step for almost a year now. Again best neurologist there is! We have been through three neurologists before finding Dr. Huszar. None had time to ask us detailed medical history or meet with us more than once a year. Dr. Huszar is skilled, detail oriented, and very concerned for the children he treats. We now visit his practice even though it is almost 2 hours away. This doctor is not the neurologist you want for your child. He is contracted with Nemours hospital in Lake Nona to see patients from the comfort of he’s house in Lakeland…. It’s a joke to even imagine you seeing a specialist physician (NEUROLOGIST)through a computer while your child has a chronic complex condition such as epilepsy!! My daughter sees Dr. Huszar and he is always friendly and caring. He makes sure we know what is going on. The staff is great to deal with as well.

Nice enough, but came to appointment unprepared, hadn't reviewed scans, and unable to fully answer questions, and still billed over $500, generally disappointed.

Met with the Dr today and was very pleased with the appointment. He spent at least an hour with my son and I, asking questions, gathering information, doing an exam. He did take verbal notes but it wasn't an interruption, in fact I think it's more thorough than trying to interpret handwritten notes later. He made an initial diagnosis, discussed medication and additional tests and why he was ordering them. He made sure I understood everything we discussed and follow up instructions.

Couldn't understand anything he said. Took the first thing you said and ran with it. I did not like him at all for my son. Started suggesting brain surgery and all kinds of other specialist . 2 years later kids still OK. really ran through test results quick and told us things we were never told and things that were out of date. Office staff didn't really seem to care much and were very short with us as if it was a privilege to see the doctor.

My daughter and I saw Dr. Huszar for the first time and it will be the last. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes past our appointment time just to be seen. Once in the room another 45 minutes. He spoke to us for about five minutes and just constantly referred us to other specialists. He did not care to hear about my concerns as a parent nor could he even remember my child's name, having to ask it repeatedly. He was very unprofessional and a waste of time and money. I would not recommend him.

Didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about my child's condition and evaded direct questions regarding the results of testing already conducted. Appointment took an hour because he was dictating his note while in the room with us which made it awkward because he'd ask one question, then talk into his device to dictate, not leaving much room for extended conversation or questions.

Dr Huzar and his resident (Theodore, Theomore, I don't quite remember her name) were absolutely AMAZING! My son was recently diagnosed with an Arachnoid Cyst. No one, bothered to take the time and explain what it was, how big it was, etc Dr Huzar took his time and explained everything to us, made sure to ask us multiple times if we had any questions, and listened to our concerns. He is by far the BEST! He even took the time and walked us out to the reception area! Can't thank him enough!
