Dr Spiegl - has worked with me on the numbness of my feet. This is possibly due to the nerve disease I’ve been diagnosed. I do not feel I have been given enough attention regarding this illness. I often leave his office scared & depressed. I will change my appointments to my Neurologist, praying for guidance & good health,

I have had problems over the years with my achilles tendons , both left and right, where the achilles attaches to my heel. In both instances, I went through an extensive PT regimen to try to get it to resolve but neither healed with therapy and anti-anflammatories. Dr. Spiegl, decided in both instances that a shock wave treatment might heal my heels. Although it was not covered by insurance, which is unfortunate, in both cases it healed my extremely painful heels. It is amazing that this treatment was so effective for me when it is not considered for approval by medicare or insurance. Dr. Spiegl estimated that 80-90% of his patients have gotten relief with this treatment. Fantastic result. Dr Spiegl is fairly quiet, thoughtful, contemplative, responsive and caring. He knows feet and ankles for sure! There are minor office issues but this rating is for my orthopedic treatment and care.

Dr Speigl was very thorough with me. He took the time to properly conduct a physical examination of my foot, take x-rays, and provide a comprehensive/tiered approach to recovery. His cortisone injection under fluoroscope worked immediately, and I am very encouraged for the future!

I had a ruptured Achilles (completely torn). Dr. Spiegl took an unusual view that surgery was not needed, and he turned out to be absolutely correct. I would add that he does a superb job of explaining technical issues, does not rush patients, and is most pleasant.

Came in with issues in my foot and the doctor reacted quickly meeting my timeline before moving to Los Angeles. The team was very professional when conducting these exams he had put in place and I’m excited to hear the response on Friday so I can get started on a treatment plan.

Excellent Doctor and really took the time to explain my issues and options for treatment.

I never have a long wait. I think the longest that I've had to wait is maybe 5 mins.. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They always take their time with me and make sure I understand everything.

Yesterday I met with Emily for my pre op appointment. She covered everything I needed to know very thoroughly. It was a very pleasant experience!!

It's been a long time coming getting my ankle repaired from an injury 40 years ago. I'm 2 weeks post op and the past 2 weeks have featured a few thoughts that were unproductive, but I am on the mend and Dr. Spiegl rocks!

Dr. Spiegl is by far the best foot specialist in GA! I've been a patient for over 20 years. He was able to find the problem when three other doctors couldn't. I'm back now with problems with my other foot and he successfully located the problem after another dr could not. If you have a complex situation he's "the man"!!

Dr. Siegl is arguably the very best ortho surgeon for foot and ankle problems and the staff is coming together well. For the first time, I think they are a cohesive team and Emily is a great addition as a PA. I hope she stays. Amy and Aslin are the best he has ever had in the casting department, by far and away.

When I found out that my husband could not accompany me to the examination room, Dr. Spiegl offered to speak with him via FaceTime from the waiting room so that my husband could be in on the conversation. I had an emergency room visit at 6:30 pm Dr. Spiegl left home to meet me after 10:00 pm. He performed surgery on me that night (Thanksgiving night). He saved my life because of the infection he found in my body and removed. His further treatment has been healing my problems. Thank you Dr. Spiegl !

I have had several foot surgeries from Podiatrists. I went to Dr Siegel to repair a toe that was crossing over another toe. He was successful in that correction, however he did other things to my foot that I was as not expecting - like putting hardware in my foot. He did a 2nd surgery within 3 weeks to attempt to fix what he screwed up - and charged me for the 2nd surgery. Seriously? That surgery did not correct anything. I am now at a podiatrist trying to see if this Dr can remove the hardware and correct the things Dr Spiegl messed up. I would not recommend him. Each visit I waited on average 1 hour before being seen and once 5 hours. His staff is very kind.

I should have taken the hint on my first visit when I waited 4 1/2 hours to see Dr. Speigl. In May of 17' I had my first (of three) surgery to correct a deformed foot.. My foot was perfectly fine and functional, it just looked awful, the day I walked into his office for the surgery. The day after, once the nerve block wore off, my toes no longer moved. My foot is basically paralyzed as it no longer bends and my skin sensations have been grossly altered. I complained with every office visit from May of 2017 until November of 2018.No improvement in fact it was getting worse. I got every excuse in the book from a bad back to gout to just being told he had no idea what I was trying to explain. In November of 2018 I saw a neurologist who diagnosed me with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy.. The pain in both my foot and leg is unbearable. I had diagnostic tests to show gross nerve damage due to the surgery. My sympathetic nervous system has been altered and I am now losing muscle mass, my foot muscles have already atrophied and now it's working its way up my leg. My life as I knew it is gone. From being an active independent women I barely leave my house unable to walk from the severe pain. My medical records which I requested were generic in nature. The notes could have been about anyone. They never mentioned my complaints that I was not improving but getting worse. Dates had been altered and false information were found all over the place. Dr. Speigl took from me the life that I knew. I sent him a letter expressing how I felt. The most difficult part is mentally adjusting to the fact that I will continue to get worse and someday I will be in a wheelchair. He never acknowledged my letter or said he was sorry for what had happened. He ran out my time by saying it was going to take a long time to expect any improvement. The medical treatments for this condition would cost $9,000. with no guarantee. Along with all the other expenses that come from the RSD. If your considering having foot surgery be sure to ask Dr Speigl first the chances of nerve damage occurring and explaining just what RSD is before you step into that operating room. He is good at what he does as he did straighten my foot so I'll give him that. But if you injure someone during surgery don't try to hide it. Be honest and let the patient know and go forward with a plan of treatment before it gets to the point where I find myself. Photo below is shortly after my first surgery a tech replaced the cast and put it on too tight. It was the weekend when my toes started turning purple and the P.A. took two days to call me back then instructed my husband how to loosen the cast. Note the color difference. He's as good as he is real. It took me nine years to find a surgeon that could straighten my feet. I have acquired adult club feet due to an autoimmune disease that left my neuromuscular functions weak. My feet and ankles turned in terribly. He already has straightened my left foot and ankle. Dr Speigl saved my leg!! I injured my leg badly (down to the muscle) and went the ER and received 17 stitches. 2 weeks later all the tissue had died and I was told to see a dr in Athens. That doctor did nothing but let my leg get BADLY infected. About a month after the incident I went to see Dr. Speigl, I was days away from being admitted into the hospital with a terrible infection and losing my leg!! Dr. Speigl worked quickly and Efficiently to make sure that didn’t happen. I saw him multiple times a week during the first month of care and then weekly after that. Dr. Speigl was very on top of my treatment and making sure we were headed in the correct direction to the best results possible. I had ankle replacement surgery with Dr. Spiegl in 2015 and am very pleased with my results. From the thorough testing beforehand, through the two procedures of preparing and replacing and the follow ups since then I have always been happy and thankful to have been referred to him. Yes, a couple of times the wait was extreme. With the results I've enjoyed I'll deal with that. I am a ballroom dance instructor and was to the point of losing my career because of a botched repair of my broken ankle. I could barely walk at all and was worried I'd end up in a wheel chair. For more than one year I suffered acute pain in my Achilles tendon. I tried physical therapy, needle therapy, ointments, using KT tape etc. Before visiting Dr. Spiegl I was told the cause was "birthdays" [old age] and to basically to live with it. Dr. Spiegl recommended I try PRP before having surgery. It works! It really works!

It was amazing!!!

I went in after several botched surgeries elsewhere, that left both feet infected and with severe ulcers. After a few years of treatment one foot is showing a little sign of hope, while one had to be amputated. Dr Spiegel and his staff, especially Brian, and Victoria (PA's) and the girls in the castroom, Ami and Ansli always treat me as a friend, and show the utmost care. I would recommend Dr Spiegel, and his practice and have to several people.

I have only seen Brian PA who did a great job so far and the Radiology tech Jessica who was very professional and did an excellent job on my MRI. Debbie and the front desk staff are equally as professional and very accommodating with the appt schedule. I see the Doctor about my mri later this week. So far this is the most attentive staff I have dealt with in years. Def better than others in atl!

Dr. Spiegl is a con man and only interested in doing surgery. The biggest mistake of my life was to see this man. He fooled me into thinking surgery (neuroplasty would help) and after the surgery did not want to know me.

I was highly disappointed with Dr. Spiegl. I went to him for a sports injury to my foot. He sent me for 3 different imaging tests and didn’t see anything wrong with my foot. He told me it might be a sprain and it may heal in a month or it may never heal at all. Failing to get any answers, I went to a different doctor who informed me that my foot was broken and I had to have bone fusion surgery to fix it. Now my pain is gone. Saw Spiegl in the early to mid 90's and he was a great Doctor but today things have changed for the worse, My wife injured her ankle on April 6, 2019 and after 2 visits to Spiegl's office with the last visit being on May 14, 2019 removing the cast from her first visit and reviewing the MRI the PA could not explain why my wife's toes were still numb, swelling hadn't gone down but very little and she was still in a lot of pain, only improvement was severe bruising had gone away, My wife never saw Dr Spiegl just the Physician Assistant (PA) I understand seeing him the first visit but on the second visit with the MRI she should have seen Spiegl so he could explain what was going on with her ankle and what could be done to help fix her injury, The PA did not impress me one bit and 10 years ago I had a PA misdiagnose a neck problem as spasm even after reviewing MRI but while on Vacation in Washington D.C I went to Georgetown University Hospital ER and after a couple simple x-rays they explained to me that I had several Bone Spurs on the spine in my neck, once I had surgery to remove the bone spurs my neck problem disappeared so that's why I suggest if you want to see an Orthopedic and not just a glorified nurse with the title of PA you need to look elsewhere for help.....my review is not about Spiegl because he did an awesome job on my ankle back in the 90's, this review is concerning how they do things today at his office maybe if my wife was seen by Spiegl himself she may of gotten proper treatment but we will never know because I am going to take her somewhere she can actually see and talk to the Orthopedic, maybe even do what I had to do 10 years ago and visit my childhood friend and wife and take my wife to Georgetown University where even students can find the problem using simple x-rays...its so sad that a once good doctor seems to now leave you in the hands of their PA. Absolutely love the staff at Perimeter Orthopaedics. Dr. Spiel is very compassionate, thorough, dedicated to quality care, and his staff is equally accommodating, including PAs, Brian and Victoria. They genuinely care about getting the diagnosis and subsequent treatment plan done right vs done quickly. I needed major reconstruction of my foot due to prolonged tendinitis. I was seeing another doctor for the issue but after only one X-ray he diagnosed the condition and proposed the surgery—same surgery as Dr. Spiegl performed but it would have been done with one procedure versus the 2-phase approach proposed by Dr. Spiegl to minimize scar tissue, excessive trauma to the foot, and minimal time in a tourniquet. This approach was only determined after several X-rays, an MRI, CT scan, and other evaluations. I saw Dr Spiegl in the early to mid 90's for my ankle injury and he was great so when my wife injured her ankle weeks ago I took her to Spiegl's office, well this aint the 90's and things have sure changed, my wife has had 2 visits and never got to see Spiegl just the PA both times and each time she left her pain was far worse than when she arrived and we still have no idea of what's going on in her ankle causing numbness in her toes along with the swelling and pain not going away by her last visit on May 14, 2019 when the injury happened on April 6, 2019. I don't understand because Spiegl was a good caring doctor back in the 1990's. 10 years ago I had a PA misdiagnose me so I can not recommend Spiegl because my wife didn't get to see him she only saw the PA and now I have to take her somewhere else to see why after weeks her swelling has not gone down but very little, her toes and part of the top of her foot is still numb and she is still in pain. I highly suggest you look elsewhere.

Professional staff, but they don't know the meaning of being on time!

I didn't not enjoy my experience with Dr. Nicholson, he did not seem knowledgable about obvious symptoms and seemed to rush through my appt to get to the next patient. He simply recommended referral after referral which will only cost me more money. I felt like just a number and that my issue had no resolution.

Dr. Spiegl is a terrible doctor. Not only does he have terrible bedside manor, he did not correct my problem as he said he would- in fact, he made it worse. He never went out to speak to my family during surgery, and the surgery took much longer than anticipated. If you are considering letting him operate on you, I HIGHLY recommend you do your research and find another doctor. The only redeeming quality about this practice is his PA who saw me in the ER 6 hours after my surgery b/c they did not re-block my leg as they stated they would. The nurse told my husband and mother that, "she said she was fine"-what kind of ship are you running when you ask the patient that is sedated how they feel? After hearing from various nurses who come in contact with him I wish I had never gone to see him. EDUCATE YOURSELF- FIND A BETTER DR THAN PAUL SPIEGL, I wish I had. Dr. Spiegl is a terrible doctor. I am sorry that I cannot recommend this practice very highly. Unfortunately, I went to other foot doctors who were unable to help me. I am still trying to believe that Dr. Spiegl knows what he is doing, but he did surgery almost a year ago and now has to fix what he messed up. I’ve had an infection for eight months in my foot which went undetected by his PAs. He truly has no bedside manor and his office is the most poorly run doctor’s office I’ve ever dealt with. After five visits to this place in one week. An hour each way from my home, I am sitting here once again for almost an hour and no help in sight. I have left numerous messages with the medical staff which have repeatedly gone unanswered. I’m at my wit’s end because I really have no choice but to pray that they can fix what they screwed up. This is the most unprofessional place I have ever been to. It’s very sad and very annoying. It’s hard to believe they are still in business. The best of over 15 yrs for different parts of my body
