Dr. Paul K Piper JR.

Appt @ 3, Dr has 2 locations; my bad for that. We arrived at 3:15 to correct location. Dr came in at 4:15 ish was very rushed and at the beginning asked me for labs, when I stood to pull documents from phone and paperwork he said oh please have a seat I need records from the Dr. I would say he’s condescending. I care take care of my brother medical Records and he seemed annoyed with my concerns. After he finished his exam he was slightly more friendly and explanatory. 1st Impression should be good and was not.

I really liked this office, Even though they was a bit far for me. What I didn't like is how hard it was to make a phone call and get in touch with them and when they didnt accept my insurance anymore they didnt tell me for weeks while I was trying to call them. So I end up going weeks without a doctor trying to find one as I am running out of medication. I feel like they should have at least gave a courtesy call ahead of time especially when they know that we need this to live. Other than that they have always been decent with everything else.

Let's see, first visit he did not fill all of my daughter's medications, without which she will have seizures and die. 80 zillion messages later, we finally got the medicine. Currently we have called and left messages, and used the crazy text thing to make her appointment for her refills for THREE WEEKS. NO ONE EVER ANSWERS, TEXTS BACK, OR CALLS BACK. EVER. Now she has only a few days of medicine left. I guess I will go to the ER and beg for her medication to save her life. Also, when they respond to reviews and leave a number to call them and rectify a situation... GUESS WHAT?! You got it!! Back to the phone tree, leave a message, send a text and NO ONE RESPONDS. I'm going to file a formal complaint. Period.

Office doesn’t answer or return calls

I saw Dr. Elhassan a few weeks ago for my diabetes. Incredibly happy and helpful staff. You can do the paperwork on line. Amazing. Nice guy. Good doctor. He talked with me about my disease, prescribed me another drug to control it, and recommended I get a glucose monitor and begin testing myself twice a day. He told me to see his dietician and to come back and see him in 6 weeks. I always thought I'd hate monitoring my glucose but it has been easy (very little pain ... especially once you get good at it) and incredibly informative. Now I am beginning to get a better understanding of what does and does not spike my blood sugar. And then I met his dietician, Patty Lewondowski. I learned more about how to control my diabetes from her in 45 minutes than in the entire 7 years I have had this disease, even counting all the stuff I looked up on line. Patty Lewendowski is absolutely amazing. I had previously met with a dietician before for my diabetes before and absolutely hated it. I anticipated more of the same. Meal plans, rules, counting. Not with Patty. For the first time I got education about what causes my diabetes, what my medications do to control it, when to take them and why, what I can do to control my blood sugar levels besides what I put in mouth, and a plan for experimenting with food and my glucose meter to understand what different foods do to my blood sugar. Again, absolutely amazing. What a change these people have made in my life. For the first time in about 7 years I feel I'm getting tools to deal with my diabetes rather than just telling me I need to lose weight and I need to eat a better diet. Absolutely amazing. I was referred to Dr. Piper's office and first saw his associate in December at which time I was prescribed a medication to be administered in their office. Instead of receiving the medication at my second visit in February as promised, and with NO apparent purpose for such visit other than to charge another $125 (my share), I was told that I would need to return again for the medication and yet another charge. I am very disappointed at their disregard for my time and the apparent "gouge" of monies from me and my insurers.

He and his PA were only interested in seeing as many patients as possible. The physicians assistant actually was annoyed when I needed him to explain further in detail about treatment options. Basically here’s my prescription see you next month

Dr Piper did a biopsy on my thyroid. Everyone was great and Dr Piper kept asking if I was ok throughout the procedure. Good experience!

I cant say enough good things about both, we started out in Tomball, and have followed them for years. My wife is type 1 brittle on pump and I'm type 2. He pulled her out of keto 3 to 4 times. we have been to several endocrinologist in the past 40 years and they are by far the best. Melissa is very very great and knowledgeable, she understands my wife and can see minute changes. she has got her down to an A1C of 6.6 that is great for a type 1. From walking in to walking out, this is one if not the best Doctor’s visit you can experience. All of the staff are friendly and Dr. Piper makes the patient feel like family and is very knowledgeable especially with the latest technology treating diabetes. Dr. Piper was very professional and took time to explain things to me, and wasn’t in a rush. The lady that took my blood was awesome, and it only took one poke and was quick and pretty painless. All the staff were really nice and professional. My results were back in a few days. The whole process went well and was quick.

I started seeing Dr Piper at 1st & happened to see Michelle on one of my appointments & I’ve been seeing her for a few years, now. She is knowledgeable and stays up to date on all the latest & greatest medical happenings. I have seen both Dr. Paul Piper and Alex, his PA a bit longer. I have only good to share about their office and staff at every level. I've always been treated kindly by the reception staff, nurses and all practitioners there. My visits with Dr. Piper were always good and helpful, it's just been quite awhile since I've seen him, but I'd certainly recommend him and Alex both for care if you are seeking it! I currently have been seeing Alex Funck virtually to follow-up on my Type 1 diabetes for a decent amount of time. I always have a good experience talking with Alex, and feel like his medical knowledge in his field is top notch. In addition to that and equally important to me is his bedside manner. Alex has always treated me kindly, respectfully, listened to my concerns and questions, and helped me develop a plan to manage my diabetes that is realistic and truly does help me. He treats me not like 'a diabetic', but rather 'a person with diabetes'. I see a difference in the 2 and it means a lot to me to reinforce that I am not defined by my diabetes. I have been going to Dr. Paul Piper for several years - first in Tomball and now in the Woodlands. I am VERY satisfied. He takes the time to LISTEN. He discusses treatment plans, solicits questions and concerns, & thoroughly reviews lab results and immediately submits Rx orders. I've never been called back late to an appointment. What more can one ask? I have never had a problem with ANY front desk staff member or Nurse so don't listen to the one star whiners. I have been seeing Dr Piper since 2015 and he and his staff have always been very helpfull and ready to step in when needed. I see him every three months and I can't ask for better care

My daughter was in the hospital last weekend and was supposed to see Dr. Piper, the doctor on call. We were told he would be there on Sunday ... no one came! Then Monday he was called and we were told he would be there that morning. Needless to say, he never showed up. About 3:00 that afternoon the nurse finally called again and we were told his PA would be coming. By 5:00 she was discharged and the PA walked in the door. He didn’t seem very concerned about her hyper thyroid condition and heart rate issues, called in a prescription and said to make an appointment in the next month. We wasted 2 days and countless amount of money in the hospital waiting to see this doctor.

I have seen Dr. Piper for years for my diabetes. He is very thorough and helpful. His staff is great and Michelle is wonderful. She is very helpful and knowledgeable. I recommend Dr Piper very highly.

The only reaaon he even gets a star is so I can leave a review. Paul is an absolute joke for someone who's a "specialist" in thyroid. I had to educate him today when he told my mother that there's no treatment for Hashimoto's disease and you cannot bring down the antibodies number, when in fact you can because I have brought my antibodies down from over 1,000 to 419. He said nothing in response and made his was out of the room Needless to say, mom will have an appointment with my functional dr and will not be returning.
