Dr. Paul Hyon-Uk Kim

The worst Doctor ever. Do not recommend. Brushed through my visit in less than 5 minutes. Did not answer my questions. Blatantly lied in my after summary visit. If you are looking for medical care - avoid this practice. Please note Dr. Kim’s response to me and and quite a few of the ones that I have reviewed blatantly violates everyone’s HIPPA - but not surprised because Dr. Kim is that unprofessional. I will inform his office manager once again of his lack of respect for his patients.

I accompanied my wife, Virginia to a recent visit with Dr. Kim to further discuss her upcoming foot surgery. She told Dr. Kim that she had difficulty taking certain pain medications and was also concerned about not being able to drive for a month. After our meeting Dr. Kim sent a very rude note cancelling her surgery stating she couldn’t take pain medication which is not true and could not follow “protocol.” Dr Kim is rude, Unprofessional and lacks empathy. I plan on rescheduling my foot surgery But certainly not with Dr. Kim.

Your response to my husband’s review is full of blatant lies. If you had listened, I made it clear that I had difficulty taking pain meds because it made me sick to my stomach and that is why I also take Zofran. How dare you say that I demanded pain medication weeks before the surgery. That is a lie. I understand that the procedure would require a post-op rehabilitation. Unfortunately I felt that I could not follow your protocol at this time. However, I had planned on rescheduling the surgery for another date. What I told your assistant was that I might cancel the surgery but first wanted to speak to my husband. I have no clue why she would say that I wanted to Wait to the week of the surgery. I think she needs to learn to listen as well. You also said that I was not a candidate for a bunionectomy. Just so you know… I’ve had a bunion ectomy on my left foot, two knee replacements , a broken femur and two hand surgeries, and I was able to get through these surgeries. You are unprofessional and arrogant person. I should have read the reviews before I decided to meet with you. I am not alone in my thinking. You are a disgrace to your profession!

I’ve had several unpleasant exchanges with Dr. Kim. He has a 1.9 out of 5 on Health Grade and a 2.5 out of 5 on Share Care. That’s a failing grade in my opinion. Dr. Kim would do well with some self reflection.

MIS with numerous missed issues postop. Highly disappointed in the treatment and namely care overall. This is not the Dr you want to see with foot issues. One-track fix may a work for some, but far from all. Not worth the risk and enduring complications and cost for such!

I took my eladerly father to Dr. Paul Kim. The doctor met us in an very unpleasant manner, just talked and didn’t eve examine his lege. He sent us for an MRI and post MRI we did not hear from his office. Once we called them they told us that the earliest we could meet them was 1 month later. After many calles we got the chance to get a telehealth visit. Wich was cnacled last second and my father was transferred to another doctor. It has been 2 months, my father is still battling with the pain and we still have not received the MRI result.

Dr Paul Kim is a fantastic orthopedic surgeon. He corrected problems from a prior surgery and was kind, efficient and everything you’d want from a surgeon. Highly recommend.

The first surgery (foot surgery) I've had since I had my tonsils removed when I was 5 years old. Dr. Kim was great! I highly recommend him. Excellent pain management program post surgery and his office staff is very kind and helpful too. Dr. Kim answers questions honestly and patiently.

Dr. Kim was great with my athlete daughter home from college! He listened to all the factors surrounding not only her injury but was super thoughtful about her needs as an athlete! Love him and his staff!

Paul Kim MD and his whole surgical team, including Danielle and Helen and his office staff, were amazing and very available and professional from start to finish when I was (am) under their care of my R. foot Bunion and 2 hammer toes (fusion). Dr Kim is the best!!!! He's not only an excellent surgeon (he saved me from having a rod put in my foot) but he's kind and listens and answers all of your questions. I had a painful toe problem that prevented me from walking comfortably. Dr. Kim assessed my problem, determined I needed surgery and within a week (my choice) I had my surgery. Follow-up was uneventful. I wore a boot for approximately one month and I am back to walking. I am thrilled with his care.

Dr Kim did what no others could after two surgeries from other's...Dr Kim got me back on my feet

I was seen by Dr. Kim three weeks after I broke my left radius in a motorcycle accident. I had been getting the run around before that by my primary care provider. I had been in a splint during that time and my wrist was starting to heal in a bad position. I sought out a second opinion. Dr. Kim and the entire staff at Mt Tam Orthopedic realized the urgency in my situation and were all amazing. They took X-rays of my wrist in the office. They set up pre-surgery appointments for me and had me in surgery within 4 days. He had to essentially rebreak my wrist and remove some broken bone pieces then put it back together. I have a plate in my wrist and 10 screws. When I saw the X-ray after the fact I thought I was going to have some discomfort associated with all the metal in there for the rest of my life. It’s been five months since I had this procedure. I’m lifting weights again. I have full use and range of motion of my wrist and it’s actually stronger than it was before I had the accident. That is absolutely amazing to me. I earn my living with my hands and I’m so greatful for everyone at Mt. Tam Orthopedics for taking care of me when I needed their help. Thank you so much. Great understanding of my injury and future plans to continue playing collegiate sports. Staff was phenomenal every visit and truely provided a support system during a difficult procedure. Dr. Kim was great to work with, informative and effective.

I’ve received excellent, professional care at Mt Tam Orthopedics. Suffered a pretty severe ankle fracture last year, and luckily squeezed into Dr. Kim’s busy schedule. He reduced it and performed the surgery to stabilize it & my outcomes have been better than I expected. He’s clearly a very dedicated, knowledgeable & skillful surgeon — uses cutting-edge approaches, etc. He’s also personable, patient and caring. Highly recommend! Dr. Paul Kim is not only a extraordinary surgeon; he is classy guy and a wonderful person. Firstly, he sends a hand written card to you after your first visit. He did this for both my son and friend who saw him after an emergency. And he did this for me after I sucked it up and realized that surgery was in my future. After my first visit with Dr. Kim, I was hopeful and excited to have surgery. Dr. Kim answered my follow up questions by email promptly and after surgery answered emails about recovery and medications. I am proud to boast that I have a bionic ankle built by Dr. Kim. Update: 6 months post surgery and I just completed my first 10k run and I feel like I could do more! As someone who was never an athlete, Dr. Kim's surgery has changed my life.
