He told me put my disease in the back of my mind. He told me my symptoms couldn’t be this bad. He blew me off when he specializes in this disease. since then my health has deteriorated.
Dr. Gauger and staff do not have a great bedside manner. Pain after surgery was not managed well, in so much pain, (I slept in patient lounge during my stay not his or his staffs fault). Just no pain relief so just walked most the night. Compassion is definitely not a strong suit of him or his staff, there to do a business transaction. Medically he is a good surgeon. I would not go to him again, and not because he is not a good surgeon, but because after 20 years having U of M doctors he lacks the whole medical team package I have been accustomed to.
Dr Gauger is very knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable with him performing my adrenalectomy. He's friendly yet professional. Answered all of my questions, and I had alot. Very patient and explains things well. I highly recommend Dr Gauger.
Dr. Guager preformed my para thyroid removal surgery. He was very knowledgeable, kind, and I felt he went above and beyond, as my surgery turned out to be slightly more than either of had anticipated. My scar is so beautiful and almost invisible. 10 years later and I’m still so thankful I saw Dr. Gauger.
Dr Gauger is tremendous. From his bedside manner to his capability as a doctor, I honestly can’t think Of what I’d want different. He performed surgery on me yesterday and it was an excellent experience.
The surgical scheduler stated she would call to schedule my surgery within 2 days. After 2 weeks and 4 messages left on her voicemail, there has been no response. I, also, left a message for the doctor and have received no return phone call. Sad.
I am very impressed with the entire operation of the Taubman Center at the University of Michigan Medical Center. I had a subtotal parathyroidectomy on 9/10/2018. The care I received from this hospital was above and beyond my expectations. A job well done to the entire staff.
