Dr. Castellanos was a miracle placed in our lives at just the right time. My husband had been told by doctors in FL and at UAB that there was nothing else they could do regarding his airway deterioration, suggested he see Dr. Castellanos as a last resort. What a blessing in disguise! Over the course of 5 years, he has become not only a lifesaver with his brilliant surgical skills but a dear friend. He is a phenomenal, gifted, compassionate, incredibly talented physician/surgeon. We are so thankful that we crossed paths with him and are anxiously awaiting his next assignment. We will follow him to the ends of the earth.....he’s worth it!

Dr. Castellanos is an excellent doctor. He is compassionate about his work. Dr. Castellanos has gave me excellent care over the past 8yrs. It is sad that he is no longer at UAB.

After 20+ surgeries, Dr. Castellanos was the only surgeon able to help me. He gave me back my life! God bless the wonderful, caring, surgeon!

Dr. C. Is the most knowledgeable, skilled physician I know in the field of critical airway care. Without his diagnostic skills,followed by two surgeries he performed, I would not be living today. He’s not only a physician, he is a friend and sits with you and listens to the patient and family while never seeming to be hurried. He also gives hugs and much encouragement. He has been blessed with God given skills he uses to treat patients.

Dr. C is a life saver! He literally saved my mother's life. She was breathing out of an opening the size of a pin hole. Dr. C was able to repair her airway and avoid a tracheostomy. She still has to see him once a year for follow up and possibly have another procedure. There isn't another doctor in the US that can do what he has done.

After years of being misdiagnosed, Dr Castellanos saved my life. I've never met a Doctor so smart, kind and greatly concerned for his patients. My condition was so rare at the time in 2005, but he never gave up on treating me! I would not be here today, if he had given up years ago!

Castellanos saved my daughters life. She went 3 years with minimal care. To point it was missed that her right lung was completely occluded. Other physicans would not touch her. She was 20 when we started seeing Dr Castellanos. 3 bronch surgeries and his brilliance as a physician. Opened her right lung. We are still in desperate need of his care to maintain a patent opening so my daughter can have a normal life. But he is the most incredible, gifted physician

I have a variety of rare airway challenges, including stenosis from subglottic region, through trachea, and into the lungs, and I needed voicebox reconstruction. Dr. Castellanos has saved my life in emergency settings. He is a one-of-a-kind physician in his complete airway skillset and expertise, and his compassion for his patients matches his excellent care. I am fully confident in recommending Dr. C for airway, esophageal/ swallowing, and voicebox care.

After 13 years as a patient of Dr. Paul Castellanos, I feel he was a life saver and quality of life saver. With any other physician, I would have had a tracheostomy or tracheal resectioning years ago. Due to Dr. C's less invasive methods, I have had neither. I was able to continue teaching until my retirement five years ago. I have had quality of life as well as quantity of life due to Dr. Castellanos. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I was under Dr. Castellanos care for about 4 years. Thinks outside the box and very compassionate doctor.

My wife would not be alive today without Dr. Castellanos and the LORD. He is profoundly proficient in his field and compassionate as well.

Dr. Castellanos is the best otolaryngologist. I will never go to anyone else. He has saved my life many of times. He has fixed my glottic and subglottic stenosis (all through the mouth) for life. I’m now free to live and love my life. He is such an asset to UAB hospital. I thank God daily for finding him. My husband and I don’t mind making the trip from Louisiana to Birmingham. Dr Castellanos is a wonderful doctor. He truly helped my husband.. He is very straight forward and he tells you the truth about everything.. He is just a wonderful doctor that cares about all his patients...

I am seeing Dr. Castellanos since the middle of 2013. He is so kind and considerate. He understands my situation and is always thinks out the box and is ready to work with other specialists. I have a chronic condition and need ongoing care. I would strongly recommend Dr. Castellonos.

I have had the experience of dealing with 4 other ENT specialists and neither of them hold a candle to Dr. Castellanos. He is thorough, honest, no-nonsense, caring, efficient and knowledgeable.

Worst Doctor ever! He gave up so fast on my cousin, and the pulmonary team ended up finding out her problem! He should be fired for being such a horrible Doctor!!

He removed trach and scar tissue getting me back where I could talk I don't think a better Doctor can be found has a great staff and works at a great hospital.
