Dr. Patrick Leroy Blohm

The BEST of the best. Dr. Blohm is no nonsense, and acts quick to find a solution. After battling infertility for years, my husband and I appreciated his directness and honesty so much. The last thing we needed was to have things sugar coated. He immediately had our trust after our initial consultation with him, and we were shocked at how quickly he went to work and got us started. He doesn’t waste a second. Not to mention his success rate is sky high! He went above and beyond for us, and so does his staff. His staff is warm, welcoming and treats us like family. When you walk in you’re always greeted by name and you can tell there is so much genuine care and concern for their patients. Their goal is the same as yours when it comes to you having a successful pregnancy! Dr. Blohm changed our lives & gave us hope when there seemed to be none. I am genuinely sad to be going back to my OBGYN! Wish I could stay in his care forever. I’ve never trusted a doctor more than I trust him. Random addition to this review, but we also saw prices at other fertility clinics and wow… he is incredibly affordable considering what clinics in South Carolina charge for IVF! He is incredibly respectful of your money too. If you have been struggling to get pregnant and feel hopeless, this is your doctor! He works miracles.

Great Doctor! Don't let anyone tell you differently.

Words can't express the gratitude we have for this man and his staff. Straight forward with the details and your options. We now have a 7 week old boy and couldn't have done it without his services. I like the "bluntness". If you can't handle being talked to like an adult, you might not need to have a child. God bless.

If you want RESULTS go see Dr. Blohm. If you want a dr who gives false hope & coddles you, then go somewhere else. Dr. Blohm is the best for a reason & my current pregnancy is proof. It took a year of seeing this man to finally conceive & it was worth every visit. I ultimately had to resort to IVF & thank god it only took one cycle. No Dr. Blohm isn't one of those overly friendly people who sits & chats with you throughout your appointments. He's there to do a job & he does it well. Dr. Blohm is the absolute best!!! He will give you real answers and results. After seeing multiple doctors who gave us nothing but false hope, he was straightforward with us and got to work right away to ensure our best chance of pregnancy. We had endometriosis surgery and one round of IVF with him, and now have a beautiful 6 month old baby boy! Could not have been happier with him or his amazing staff. Thank you!

We went three times and did the IVF. We lost the each baby each time and they don’t show any sympathy only care about their money. They have a very bad staff with a bad attitude. A total lost on money.

Would absolutely not recommend Dr. Blohm. I’m heartbroken for the women of Savannah who are experiencing infertility as he is their only option in the area. There is no “care” or concern about the patient. During my time there as a patient he brought it another physician who just took over my care all without ever introducing himself or discussing anything with me. He seemed to not know what my treatment plan was- and I was done. I left in tears. I never went back. I had the unfortunate requirement to see Dr. Blohm as a monitoring physician for my journey as a surrogate…. In those limited visits he brought in 3 different students/apprentices and had them perform the internal exam/US. Never introducing them, or asking my consent. I’m a physical therapist and would never let a student touch a patient without first introducing the student and asking the patients comfort level. I felt uncared for, unimportant, and completely invisible while in this office. I would recommend any infertile woman go to Charleston… but undoubtedly you would still need Dr. Blohm’s office to do Monitoring. Absolutely a shame he is the only Option for women here. Pros: He sees you quickly. He is honest. He has a great track record for helping people become pregnant. Negative: He’s blunt (which I appreciate, but it isn’t for everyone) He said it would be extremely unlikely for me to get pregnant without in vitro, but I’ve had two children since then without any fertility interventions. Personal review- I ended up getting pregnant on my own a month after a failed IUI. My regular OB wouldn’t see me until I was 9 weeks pregnant, but I called Dr. Blohm and he agreed to see me the next day. He tested my hormone levels and did an ultrasound. He didn’t think my pregnancy would last, but put me on a variety of hormone medications. He saved me from miscarrying. I’m forever grateful that he was willing to see me right away. Dr. Blohm is amazing! He is straight to the point and will tell you exactly what your plan will be. I started my treatment with him Sept. 30th and got pregnant 3 weeks later. He works miracles!

Wonderful doctor who truly cares about success and his patients. After reading reviews of this doctor I really feel that I should leave a review. Dr Blohm and his staff make an amazing team. You can always expect to only deal with Dr Blohm at every visit. He does everything from ultrasounds down to ordering labs and medication dosage. He is available anytime a patient needs him day or night. Patients are even seen on the weekend during treatment. Don’t let others reviews scare you away from him. If you have struggled with infertility definitely give him a chance. We truly love Dr. Blohm and his staff.

As a medical professional in a large competitive city, I was appalled by his treatment of my family member. I have worked with my fair share of doctors with poor bedside manners, but I have never witnessed one yell and beat down a patient the way this one did. It was uncalled for, unprofessional, and rude. I understand he is good at getting someone pregnant but that should not be at the expense of the patient’s emotional health during such a fragile time. If you don’t want to drive for a specialist, I guess you are stuck with him. My advice remember that you pay him- so ask questions and put your foot down when he speaks to you like you are stupid. So this is my honest 100% review of my experience getting help by Dr.Blohm. His an amazing doctor. He helped me get pregnant on the first try working with him. I will say his manners and hospitality isn’t there sometimes. He expects a yes or no answer when he asks you a question and doesn’t really let you explain or talk. He can/will interrupt you when you’re explaining but I guess he just doesn’t like explaining. Guess he sees it as a excuse. The staff is very professional and very nice. Scheduling and wait time was always satisfactory. I will say if you’re sensitive or have a strong personality he may not be the doctor for you. His bedside manner might be a little iffy, but he got us pregnant and that’s really all we required. His NPs are kind and make up for his lack of eye contact and, at times, glib demeanor. ???? He’s brilliant... what do you expect?

I came to Dr. Blohm after 4.5 years of infertility, and he knew exactly what I needed to get pregnant at my first appointment, I did as he recommended, and got pregnant the first try. I can't even express how grateful I am for this doctor.

I liked Dr. Blohm’s scientific approach to our problems. He was very honest, never gave us false hope, and gave us a realistic timeline and approaches for our budget. We were pregnant on the second cycle and now have an amazing and beautiful baby boy. We could not be more grateful.

Dr. Blohm is very straight forward and his #1 job is to help you become pregnant. My husband and I appreciate his determination. We are currently working with him now and will be doing our first IUI soon. Do not let some of these reviews scare you. His staff is very nice as well.

Dr Blohm is amazing in everyway. We have been seeing him since 2018 for infertility. We are now just starting our first IVF and he has been the best at caring for us and monitoring us closely. We couldn’t be more blessed to have him on our team.

I felt like cattle. They treat you like a piece of meat rather than a real person. But, they are knowledgeable and good at what they do. I am also disappointed they didn't work with my insurance.

I can't say enough great things about my experience with Dr. Blohm and his entire staff. I had my first appointment in March 2017 at 37 years of age. He let me know RIGHT AWAY that we didn't have a ton of time on hand and we needed to get right to work. He was very matter of fact, and very goal oriented. After a couple of months of bad test results and road blocks, we came up with a plan he felt would work. I took a little time off to move and get settled, and started the procedure in February of this year. By June, I was pregnant with TWINS! I am now 24 weeks with them and we are just over the moon! Dr Blohm is incredibly dedicated to his job. He is so well versed in every aspect of every process. He was very involved and easy to contact if I ever had an issue or question. My son is turning 4 in January and I am forever grateful.

Dr. Blohm is excellent at his practice. He is straight to the point and tells it like it is. My husband and I appreciated that. His knowledge and his skill is what brought us to his practice. Run, don't walk, from this "Doctor." I excused his horrible bedside manner thinking that he was some sort of "mad scientist" who knew what he was doing. He's not and he doesn't. I went to Dr. Blohm several years ago for a very sensitive medical condition. He was extremely rude and had some of the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced in a physician. I actually respect him for that. Front desk could use a little help, though. One of the older women (a receptionist) made me cry. I was told by a younger receptionist (I asked) that I could go a head and see my OB/GYN. Next thing I knew, as I was waiting in his office, I was getting a call from the older receptionist chewing me out for doing so. As if I'd intentionally disrespected Dr. Blohm (I got pregnant on my own, but needed the meds he had put me on to stay pregnant). I had no idea I had done anything wrong or disrespectful. I was just excited to be pregnant for the first time and wanted to physically be seen by my OB/GYN. Shame on this receptionist, making a pregnant woman cry. Dr. Blohm is God sent!!! He may be a little misunderstood but I would’nt say rude! He’s not here for us to cry on his shoulder about not being able to get pregnant. He’s a straight to the point type of guy but he’s smart and know what he is doing. Yes, his voice is harsh and loud but I truly believe he means no harm. Dr. Blohm is an extremely kind, caring, and talented doctor. I went all the way to Charleston at first because I had heard negative things about his bedside manner. I am so grateful that I gave him a try - I now have beautiful twins! It goes without saying that he has excellent results. I also want to stress what a kind person he is. Not a single day passes by that I do not think of Dr. Blohm. I struggled with infertility for over 3 years and finally after infertility God blessed with triplets. This was almost 11 years ago. I remain forever grateful for his expertise and bluntness throughout the entire experience. Dr. Blohm deserves more than 5 stars in my book.

Dr. Blohm is very to the point but he's very sweet. After two years of failed efforts he was able to get us pregnant on the first attempt. We are very lucky to have someone as talented as him in the low country.

We used his services just over two years ago and have a beautiful son via our Frozen embryo transfer. Dr Blohm staff was very helpful. As a doctor he has an abrupt bedside manner but is highly efficient at what he does and I can tell he truly cares about his patients. We will be forever thankful for his services.

After years of dealing with army doctors who refused to listen to me and really help me, I was so happy to be referred to Dr. Blohm. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Blohm, his office & all of the staff at St. Joseph's Candler. After seeing quite a few negative reviews online, I was borderline terrified to go in for my consultation. I had previously been treating in Charleston but was looking for someone more local & as I'm sure you've all seen, there really aren't any other RE's in the Savannah area. After actually speaking to a couple people & hearing about their experiences first hand ("I guess maybe he doesn't have the greatest bedside manner but he gets people pregnant"), my husband & I decided to at least go in for a consultation and draw our own conclusion. While in the waiting room for our initial consultation, a woman walked in with her newborn & a gift basket. The entire staff came out to welcome her and say congrats and asked her back saying "Oh he would love to meet him and congratulate you!" My husband & I joked about whether or not Dr. Blohm hired a woman every week to come in with a newborn to promote his business. Dr. Blohm & his office are not hand holders by any means but I have not experienced one rude person in his office. We joked with him, he joked back. He is straight to the point, he's was not rude or crass but he's not going to waste your time or his especially considering he works 7 days a week. Originally, I would have given Dr. Blohm 5 stars. Many people don't like his abrupt manner, but that doesn't bother me. As long as a doctor does his job well, I don't care how brash he is. What I do care about is stealing money. This man took money from us for no reason. I started seeing him in 2013. He did a wonderful job of going over all our records from my OBGYN. He had several recommendations and said we should start rounds of IUI right away. So we did several tests. He told us they had all come back normal and the first IUI was scheduled. I pumped myself full of hormones and went to his office every other day or so for an ultrasound. We were so excited! We paid out of pocket for all of this which totaled about $5000. The first IUI didn't work. After several attempts to schedule a second one and him taking time off work (it was the holidays, but come on! Two months is a long time to put your life on hold), I decided to get a second opinion. This is when I transferred our records to Stephanie Singleton in Charleston (who is amazing!! She has staff in Savannah, too). She immediately looked at our records and saw the problem. I won't go into detail here, but I can even see the test results (now that I have the records) where it clearly shows we have NO chance of becoming pregnant on our own. None. Zero. Rounds of IUIs are completely pointless in our case. IVF is the only option if we want to conceive naturally. We decided we had always wanted to adopt, and that was just the push we needed. Let me be clear: I WOULD ABSOLUTELY STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR!! If you would like to know more, please PM me. My husband recently went here for a semen analysis. To start off the red haired lady at the desk was not very friendly. It was already awkward enough for my husband but to have a rude demeanor is unprofessional and unnecessary. He's doing this so we can take the steps to have a baby. Then she takes him to a room..a bathroom that has a chair right off the main hallway and in a not so encouraging tone tells him what he needs to do. Hearing people walk up and down the halls, a baby's mobile. before we left I asked her when could we get the results and of course she was very matter of fact and her demeanor once again on the rude side.
