The overall staff was wonderful

Every one was professional and courteous, l was seen within minutes of arrival.

Dr. Schipper is a consummate professional who answers all my questions with clear, direct, and helpful information. Technical and desk staff are always polite and friendly.

A very friendly and comfortable office environment. The whole staff was so nice and caring. Dr. Schipper was so nice and attentive in listening and explaining the issues with my foot and providing the best resolution for treatment.

Dr. Shipper was very easy to receive care from. Besides being an expert at his job, he had great bedside manners and seemed to love his job. Regarding the check-in process. I do however recommend that the paperwork process is automated, it's a lot to read and voluminous. Plus the same questions asked on the questionnaire (s) had already been asked when I made the appt- so I was somewhat surprised that I had to repeat myself.

Dr. Schipper did my hallux rigidus surgery with great results and minimal scarring. I continue to see him for other foot issues.

This last visit was a big deal for me. Approved to start weight bearing. Just completed step 1/surgery 1 of a 2 step process here, with the ultimate goal being a total ankle replacement. Dr. Schipper performed three osteotomies this last surgery, extended my Fibula length, moved my heel forward and installed a wedge behind my big toe. In addition to that, he removed all hardware from my previous ORIF. I received a personal call from Dr. Schipper the afternoon I returned from surgery. My pain was managed well. The Force App that they are using worked excellent for communications. I received responses within minutes, to include several messages sent "outside normal working hours". I'm told I'm healing well, and tracking for my total ankle replacement in March. I'm also bearing weight and out of the cam boot at 8.5 weeks post op! If your on the fence about ankle replacement surgery, give Dr. Schipper's team a look. I'll be submitting another review, as an update to this one in April, with a new ankle.

Dr. Schipper is the best. We developed a successful and well thought out treatment program. Didn’t immediately jump to surgery, tried conventional treatments first, and then had a successful surgery with him and he and his staff supported me 100% to 100%. He’s great and has a fantastic reputation in the PT community for his practices. Don’t delay, start your road to recovery today!

I've seen seven of the Physicians. Surgeries with 5 out of the 7. The Anderson Clinic is the only place I will allow to perform my procedures.

Dr Schipper was very detailed in his assessment of my ankle. He provided me with diagnosis and information other surgeons have never mentioned which will help me to maintain my ankle health a few years longer before I will have to get a replacement. The staff was very kind and easy to work with to get the appt and to email all documents prior to appt. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Sensitive to individual needs and what the person wants to achieve physically. Delivers the best possible solutions.

My follow-up visit with Dr. Schipper was great. I was very happy to see the results of my bunion surgery. Dr. Schipper's out patient minimally invasion procedure was exactly that...minimally invasive. I have had almost no pain from the completion of the surgery until now. I only took the narcotic pain reliever the day of surgery and twice the following day. After that, I only took extra strength Tylenol occasionally. Although the recovery shoe is a bit restrictive, I fully understand the need for it. I really appreciated Dr. Schipper's down to earth personality in explaining the procedure and expected outcome. His PA Martelle, assistant Joe, and Tatyana were so friendly and professional, as well as the entire support staff. I felt totally comfortable at the Anderson Clinic. It was great, very little wait time; the doctor was professional and very knowledgeable.

I have had 3 joint replacements at the Anderson Clinic. Every experience has been been handled professionally by my doctor's and the results have been literally life changing. They have the best Orthopedic doctors in the world!

Dr Schipper is an excellent surgeon and a good communicator with me as a patient. His info hand outs are very important in providing patients with details of operation and post op expected recovery. I have already recommended him to two friends.

Extremely efficient practice. I wasn’t even finished filling out forms by the time I went to X-ray and met with the dr they were that fast. Dr. Schipper was extremely friendly and personable and didnt try to push surgery. Overall a great experience.

Everyone was very warm and professional. All were receptive to my myriad of questions. Dr Schipper listened to my concerns and developed a treatment plan addressing those. I hope to never have to return but should I develop a new injury or problem, I’ll definitely return.

I sought help here after a previous doctor. Dr Schipper took time to answer an entire list of questions and diagnosed the issue from a X-ray from month’s prior. I was very glad that he was able to provide specific details of what to expect and was honest about how much could be done, what to do to keep up strength in recovery, and what to expect in the future. He was able to resolve the pain from a previous doctors error in half the amount of recovery time and I was able to gain back some range of motion too. I’m 9 months post-surgery (flatfoot reconstruction to address a PTT tear) and finishing up rehabilitation back to sports. My whole recovery process went exactly as Dr. Schipper laid out. He absolutely listened to my concerns and goals. While in surgery, things looked a little better than expected, and he ended up “patching” my tendon instead of totally removing a piece of it, with the intention of allowing me get back to most high-impact activity. I really appreciated this. One recommendation: write down your questions, because he does move quickly. (He will slow down to address any concerns you have.) Excellent outcome for total ankle replacement surgery in June 2020. After extensive research among the top orthopaedic hospitals and surgeons on the East coast, I chose Dr. Oliver Schipper and the Anderson Joint Replacement Clinic in Northern Virginia. I went home after one night in the hospital and my follow-up care and recovery went as expected. I resumed all my activities within three to six months. Dr. Schipper did an excellent job with my ankle surgery, helping me get back to the type of exercise I am used to, pain free. He also did my Achilles repair a few years earlier and each surgery was a success. I highly recommend him as he uses a truly minimally evasive procedure for his surgeries.

I don’t have enough positive words in my vocabulary to describe Dr. Schipper, Martelle, and the Anderson Orthopedic Clinic staff. I’ve been a patient for several years (different conditions) and the one thing that really stands out about Dr. Schipper is his genuine care for his patients and desire to see us get better with the most minimally invasive treatment possible. He corrected a surgery botched by a different practice and his skill, knowledge, and bedside manner are second to none. I’ve referred two very dear friends of mine to him for their own ankle issues and will continue to recommend him. I’m 8 weeks post-op and my ankle (a complicated tendon repair) is incredibly strong. I've waited a year and a half since my surgery to write this review. I didn't want to appear to be a whiner. I've been hoping that the issue will resolve itself but after additional medical visits I still have as much discomfort in my foot as I had right after the surgery. In addition to the numbness, my toe no longer bends enough to allow entry into some of my footwear. Had I know then what I know now I would not have proceeded with the "freeze the big toe" solution to my bunion problem. I suffered with intense bunion pain for decades (terrible pain that often woke me from sound sleep) but was afraid to seek surgical correction because of experiences of friends who had had surgery. My husband sent me a link to Dr. Schipper's description of the Akin Chevron minimally invasive procedure. I did research online - even viewing YouTube videos of the surgery - and finally made an appointment to talk with Dr. Schipper. He answered all of my questions, addressed my fears and pressured me not in the least. I had my right foot done in July and my left done in August. I did not even need the prescribed pain medication and a little more than a month after the second surgery, I am fully ambulatory, doing physical therapy and back in some of my normal shoes. I am - in a word - thrilled! The office staff is courteous, efficient and responsive, the office is easy to find, has plenty of parking and is on several bus routes. Highest recommendation! Dr. Schipper is AMAZING! I had an ankle injury and went to him to get a second opinion for my third surgery. After 5-10 mins he had a plan of action and provided answers for the pain that I had been feeling for the past year. The staff are very professional yet extremely friendly. This was my first visit but I felt as if I'd been there many times before. Dr. Schipper was very informative and knowledgeable about my issue. His recommendations were right on point with what I was thinking. I don't know why it took me so long to come there. Excellent care!! My surgery had an amazing outcome! I am able to walk without excruciating pain. I had an ankle replacement back in 2017 by another doctor and now have far more flexibility and extremely less swelling than any of my previous surgeries! His fabulous skills has improved my quality of life!!! Thank You!

Schipper replaced my ankle nearly 2 years ago. I consider the surgery very successful. I now walk up to 2 miles per day and golf several times a week - PAIN FREE. I traveled from Florida to Virginia to have the surgery. It was a wise decision. The people at Mt. Vernon hospital were the best. I recommend Schipper without reservation.

I’ve seen Dr. Schipper for almost 3 years for various foot/ankle conditions. He is compassionate, kind, thorough, and enables patients to participate in their own plan of care. He is a conservative surgeon; though exceptionally skilled at ankle repairs, he recommends the least invasive treatments first - he doesn’t immediately decide you need to be cut open just because he can. I’ve referred two friends to Dr. Schipper and they’re equally impressed. His PA Martelle is likewise very skilled. I am fortunate to have found The Anderson Orthopedic Clinic after a botched surgery at another practice and I encourage everyone I care about who has ankle issues to see him. Top notch doc!

My husband had a visit to go over his up coming surgery. I was asked to sit in. We went to the visit and were treated very well. From the time we walked in the door to the time we left the staff made sure we understood everything and asked if we had any questions. They did not try to rush us thru. Dr Shipper came in and introduced himself to me. He explained everything he was going to do. He went over Michaels medications. The ones he will and will not be taking. He was excited to be helping my husband. That took away a lot of stress off me. Dr Shipper and his staff go above and beyond to help his patients. Dr Shippers staff has so much respect for him. I would recommend this office and staff to anyone. Well worth the trip from Inwood WV.

Liked him immediately after I met him. He gave me options on whether to have surgery or not. He answered all my questions and explained clearly and respectfully what he would do with the non-invasive bunion surgery. On the day of surgery, met with me, reviewed what he was going to do. Staff was also very respectful and caring -- and followed up the day after to see how I was doing. Easy to make appointments. I already have referred a few other people to him.
