this is the worst office! rude staff

They’re nice, but they don’t answer the phones, nothing.

Very unorganized facility! While the doctor may be nice, his staff is horrible!

The staff is unorganized, rude and no one ever answers the phone! My son can’t get cleared for surgery because they won’t answer or return my calls or the nurse’s calls from the dentist!

While I never got the chance to meet Dr. Israel himself, I did however meet his PA, Christy. She was super nice. My son was referred to Dr. Israel's office by his pediatrician for chronic constipation. I thought for sure we would find a way to treat it and get him to not have so many problems anymore, I was wrong. First off, I wasn't too crazy about doing all of my son's visits virtually. Yes, I am totally aware they are doing them that way to protect themselves and their families and also their patients and their families from COVID-19 - that part didn't bother me. The part that bothered me was after the first virtual visit, I was sent orders to do a KUB and then was told after doing the x-ray we needed to do a clean out with Miralax, and we would follow up in a month. Virtually, again. Let me also say, we had done Miralax everyday for a month and also Lactulose before being referred and that didn't help either. So, I didn't go to any kind of medical school or anything, but shouldn't the x-ray be read first to make sure the reason for the referral is the correct diagnosis or maybe to make sure the right amount of medicine is given to relieve the patient of the problem? Also, I wasn't a fan of the provider not putting hands on him to feel his belly and feel how tight it was. But I brushed it off because how many more virtual visits could we do? They would have to bring him in to the office at some point right? Fast forward to the second virtual visit, the nurse called to triage my son, and continuously called him a "she" and then said " Ms. Christy would like for you to have an x-ray done. Where can I send the orders?" When I quickly told her we had already done the x-ray 3 weeks prior, she said she would call me right back. I never heard back from her. Ten minutes later Ms. Christy called back and when I asked her about what was found on the x-ray she completely ignored my question. So, I thought well maybe my pediatrician office didn't send it to them, so I called my good friend that works there and yes they did send it to them that same day we went in for the xray. Once again, I was told to continue with the Miralax and to introduce Exlax in to the mix at this time too - after doing a clean out with just Miralax again. Frustrating is not even the word. I was basically just told to pump my three year old full of laxatives without physically being seen by a provider AND without being told any information about the x-ray we did. I scheduled a 3rd visit but quickly cancelled it a few days later because we weren't getting anywhere with the treatment plan. I called my pediatrician to be referred to another GI specialist of my choosing. Our first visit was this past Monday and we are already seeing results. The practice and providers may be some of the best, but they weren't that for me. I honestly feel like if we were seen in person, it would be a totally different outcome. And again, I totally understand where they are coming from with seeing patients virtually, but also it may be a good idea to not do EVERY appointment virtually. Dr. Israel is very kind and has SOME nice staff members but the others are rude and dismissive and could care less about the patient’s needs or helping them. They literally make you wanna snatch them by the ears and sit them in time out with how childish and inconsiderate they behave.

You won't find a more caring and compassionate doctor than Dr. Israel. Keep in mind that he is the only pediatric gastroenterologist in south Georgia so it is expected to have a wait time on both appointments and returned phone calls as they are very busy and get referrals from all over.

Everyone is friendly. I have been coming to this office since 2010 and have never had bad service my daughter (9)Dr is Israel and my son(1)see’s Dr Christine and the staff has always made us feel very comfortable....the only thing that is a problem for me is when you call no one answers the phone nor do they return your messages

I went into my sons appointment not sure what to expect because we had a bad experience with someone previously employed here a few years ago. I’m pleased to say that the appointment was well beyond expectations. The staff is friendly and caring. Joanna answered all of my questions with ease and had great recommendations for my sons digestive and feeding issues. So glad we found a local pediatric gastroenterologist and don’t have to travel to Atlanta. I highly recommend this office & staff! I took my son this week to the Pediatric GI Center. The staff was super friendly. The waiting area was clean and had a play area for kids. The wait wasn't long and the doctor was great and understanding.

My son saw Dr Israel and his NP Joanna for the first time two weeks ago in a bit of a serious situation. We were met with kindness and compassion from both Dr Israel and Joanna along with the rest of the staff throughout the office. I am thankful that in a very scary situation we found ourselves at this office with these caring people. Both Dr Israel and his PA are amazing! They both showed concern for the well-being of my child and their expertise when trying to find a solution to his problem. He is now having much better days and nights since seeing them. The office staff are nice and went above and beyond to get him in sooner than his scheduled appointment by finding us a cancelation and calling us when it was available. The entire staff are amazing, yes you will have to wait a long time to be seen and it may be a little crowded in the waiting room but they are worth it. Both Dr Israel and his PA are amazing! I was referred to their office for my daughter who is 3 months old. I had a video conference with dr isreal where he seemed rushed and not taking what I was saying was going on and said it’s just reflux she will grow out of it. I did some things he told me to try and they made her worse. I called his office several times, his office staff was very rude and said they’d “call me back later” but never did. I also tried to reach out on their PmD app and his nurse blocked me on it so I could not contact them on it anymore. I went back to my child’s pediatrician and told them and they referred us to dr. Mohammed in Atlanta and he is amazing! He found out there is more going on than just reflux! We are being sent to the children’s hospital to have further testing. “Doctor” isreal didn’t even care. Just said “she will grow out of it”. If I would of quit pressing and just said ok she will grow out of it who knows how much worse she would of become. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIS OFFICE TO ANYONE.

Dr. Israel was my daughter, Arianna’s, GI since she was 6 years old and under his care over 10 years. He is an amazing doctor. He genuinely cares about his patients, is extremely compassionate and the best you will find. I highly recommend Dr. Israel to all pediatric patients seeking the best GI for their child. He was a blessing in my daughters treatment plan.

Very rude office staff. The phone number that is listed, someone rarely answers and it goes to an answering service to leave a msg for the nurse. My mother called several times trying to find out if they received a referral from my daughter's pediatrician. After a few times of calling and leaving messages cause no one would ever answer a lady calls back and tells my mother they are tired of her calling. That is unacceptable to me being in the medical field myself. You NEVER tell a patient that you are getting tired of them calling. Really got the feeling that they could care less about my daughter and her problem. Needless to say we have an appointment with another GI tomorrow. Will not be giving Dr Israel office a second glance and will NOT recommend to any one else. It's a shame he is the only GI in the area. Awesome doctor. After 6 months of our local hospital pumping our daughter with fluids and sending her home still vomiting they let her go from 185 to under 90 lbs. Dr. Isral found the problem in 20 min.

Once you FINALLY get a call back, Dr Israel’s staff is very rude and there is an absurd wait time of 3 months to get an appointment for a child who is in pain from severe reflux. Call GI Kids in Atlanta and received an appointment for the following week. AND they answer the phone as soon as you call. Dr. Israel’s office has an answering machine that you leave a message on and they return your call in 24-48 hours.

Son just had a endoscopy. Dr.Israel is a great doctor. He informed us as soon as he was done and came in to see my son before the procedure

I was given appointment on day when doctor wasn't in the office, by one of his staffing and my child had to mistake school for no reason couldn't get seen. We live hour and half away.

We liked Dr Isral okay but what I don't like is that my daughter had test ran on September 15th and now here it is October 11th and I still haven't received her results. Ive called just about everyday, sometimes twice a day and have left messages and have not heard back. I live in Savannah or elae I would have just went by the office my self. As soon as I hear back on results that will be the last time I deal with this office. Very rude staff! Very unhelpful! Stay away!!

We had a 2 hour wait the first visit, seriously. Second visit was a little over an hour wait. They need to seriously work on scheduling if you are going to have patients wait that long.

Dr. Israel is a very intelligent doctor. He knows exactly what he is doing and takes care of his patients like family. I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease when I was 5 years old, I was the youngest they have ever seen. Ever since then Dr. Israel has done nothing but care for me and make sure I'm feeling well all the time. He never gets mad or upset with me when I yell at him in the hospital due to lack of food. he is by far the best doctor I have ever been to and I 100% recommend him to anyone

Dr. Israel my be a fine Doctor...time will tell. However, the office staff leaves a lot to be desired. We live two hours away, and my daughter has a procedure scheduled today at Children's Hospital. We were instructed to be here at 9:30 am. It's now almost 11 am and we were just informed that the procedure wasn't scheduled until 1:30 pm. Apparently the office sends everyone at the same time, much to the chagrin of the staff at the hospital, and doesn't inform patients of the time of the appointment. Verify your appointment time with the hospital!!!!! It's not a pleasant experience dealing with an already anxious child who hasn't had solid food in two days. Especially when she could have slept in and not been anxious ALL DAY LONG!!!!! Pathetic. Dr. Israel my be a fine Doctor...time will tell. However, the office staff leaves a lot to be desired.
