I would definitely recommend Dr Gemma to my family and friends. He made a doctor's visit fun as if anything about cancer could be made fun.

Dr. Gemma is and always will be the best and my most favorite doctor I have ever had . He was a light in the darkness for me . He listened , he truly cared . He was genuine , kind and professional in every way . I am so blessed to have been one of his patients .

I always look forward to his smile. Dr. Gemma has a way of putting light on something so heavy such as cancer. He gave me hope. I had some bumps in the road but I believe my treatment was successful because of Dr. Gemma.

I have prostate cancer, my PSA has been increasing even thou I am on hormone therapy, my urologist encouraged me to see oncology to see if something more needed to be done

Dr. Gemma speaks straightforward and honestly, helping me make sense of my condition and best course of action. True professional with a caring, respectful attitude toward the patient. Very willing to help the patient better understand, and very well-informed with expertise in my condition.

Detailed visit, well explained, thorough and knowledgeable about my condition. Personable and I felt very comfortable asking Dr. Gemma about my condition, prognosis, and what to expect in the future. Great Team of support professionals. Felt that I WAS NOT rushed through the visit and he was there for me at this time. Highly recommended, very caring and compassionate.

Dr. Gemma besides being a good doctor is also very caring. When dealing with cancer that can be very important to the patient.

Dr. Gemma has such a wonderful bedside manner!! He makes you feel like you really matter to him and I love his Nurse as well. They both truly care about their patients. Just love him!!

I think this is the second time I have been asked to do a survey. However, Dr. Gemma is so good I am happy to do it. He is kind, caring and has a great sense of humor. I have told everyone if they have to go to Shenandoah F. Oncology that Dr. Gemma is the best.

I love this guy...oncologist!!! We relocated in the middle of my Cancer treatment & Dr. Gemma took me on & made the transition as smooth as ever. He is reassuring,straightforward & even called me personally after hours to explain results of a CT scan...Who does that?? Dr. G. That’s who!!! Yes I would recommend Shenandoah Oncology, they are All great, my nurses...WOWED ME before, during & after treatment, But, Dr. Gemma is my Hero!!!

I had all my questions answered by Dr. Gemma. He makes the entire visit very professional and low key that I could be comfortable. He has handle my cancer and has keep me feeling everything was comfortable.

Dr. Gemma has treated me since 2006. With a brief time off I started chemo for METS in 2016. Dr. Gemma has been kind and forthright with me. And he’s fun to joke with. I just love him as my doctor. He makes the rest of my life better.

Dr. Gemma-really there is nothing to say.......well I guess there is.....what a good man he is. He has always been so good and helpful to me and also to my good friend ,who happens to have cancer. Down through the years-he has been a wonderful and knowledgeable care provider. Shenandoah Oncology has been a comfortable and resourceful practice to have been associated with.

I have received excellent care from Dr. Gemma and the rest of the care providers at Shenandoah Oncology. I have no problem recommending any of the oncologists, but especially Dr. Gemma. I am most grateful for the care I have received.

Dr. Gemma has all the qualities a good oncologist needs. He’s up to date on latest cancer treatments, he’s kind, gentle, thorough and empathetic. He explains test results clearly and gives bad news with a touch of good news to make a cancer diagnosis easier to bear. I do not want him to retire until long after I’m gone. I would want him to be available to treat my family if that should become necessary. I love him. I like other doctors - I love Nick Gemma.

I had a great first visit with Dr. Gemma. He fully explained everything and took the time to listen to me and answer my questions in terms I was able to understand. He also took the time to discuss my follow-up appointment. I would highly recommend him - it doesn't hurt that he is a UVA graduate! :)

Dr Gemma stands alone with his knowledge- his care- his expertise No Doctor can even begin to offer what Dr Gemma does for his patients. He is EXCEPTIONAL ! But his new nurse that took the place of the faithful unnamed very professional and caring gal leaves much to be desired. She is very judgmental and has a tone of voice that leaves you feeling worse than when you started your exam/visit. Being a nurse, I'm very unimpressed with her professional behavior.
