About Dr. Neelofar Lalani
Reviews for Dr. Neelofar Lalani
Worst provider Ive ever had. Doesnt care, doesnt listen, doesnt help. Shes why I stopped all treatment at the VA.
I recently relocated from the east coast to the Midwest and this psychiatrist was assigned to me at the VA. My previous VA psychiatrist had me the best meds and if you know anything about depression and anxiety, finding the best medications can take years but once you find it, you donât mess with it. During my first appointment with this provider, she told me she wasnât going to continue one of the medications because they donât prescribe it for mental health disorders. Itâs a medication for anxiety but now I canât have it after being on it for six years? She really shouldnât be in this profession if she just makes blanket statements about not prescribing certain drugs. Find another psychiatrist and stay away from this one.
Veteran with PTSD. First time seeing this woman and her -first question after asking me how my day was, "What's your trauma?"... Excuse me?! How un-personable can you be? She's the worse psychiatrist ever. I'm giving my e-mail to this stupid website just to spite her and warn others to not seek treatment from this woman.
Dr. Lalani is an insensitive, uncaring doctor. My husband goes to the VA in KCMO, he has had several doctors in the Behavioral Health Clinic there. He has been going there for eight years and has had his medication tweaked and has been on the same drugs for two and a half years. He is coping with his meds along with occasional cannabis use, he does not drink alcohol. Dr. Lalani has neglected him for two weeks and has not filled his sleep medication and left him without it for 10 days. My husband had to call his primary care physician, he talked with Dr. Kamathâs nurse and she called Dr. Lalani and got my husbands sleep med order to him after fourteen days. My husband was so agitated without sleep, so depressed and in such a bad state that I had to call the suicide hotline to talk to someone, because I was ready to lose it myself as I lost two weeks of sleep with him and I tried to lift him out of that horrible state, and I am not a psychiatrist, but I too have P TSD, and was having my own issues trying to keep us both afloat until his medication arrived. I was appalled to discover that Dr. Lalani is a Adolesant Psychiatrist. What are her credentials for dealing with wounded veterans? How could she possibly understand what happens to adults in a war theater that have to kill or be killed. She constantly nags him and tells him that he has to have blood tests every three months in order for her to fill his meds. She has no clue as to how hard it is to come to the V A hospital with all the Covid-19 protocols. Then she told him the tests were necessary in order for her to evaluate him because he smokes a joint every now and then. She told him she was following the protocol because there have been countless studies proving that marijuana causes heart problems and liver and kidney problems. She said that the studies prove that marijuana can not be used with his meds. When my husband asked her to show him the studies, she tells him, no, you should go to group therapy. ( My husband has had group therapy, 12 years ago, and he tried to end his life at that time also. He was in 2 private hospitals and they could not help him. When he started going to the VA, he was finally, after 4 different doctors , given the correct medications that keep him as alive as he can be, and coping with day to day stress situations.). Then she went on to say that he needed to be tested for all those things including an ekg, eeg, and numerous other tests. My husband has had al those tests and more and nothing was found to be a health risk. His mental state is another problem entirely. The last time he attempted suicide was 9 years ago. Now every single time he has seen her he becomes so agitated by her negativity, and constant badgering about how she has read all these papers on how negatively marijuana affects people with PTSD. Frankly I myself suffer with PTSD, I have smoked marijuana for over 50 years, and I have never had one single problem other than it is scheduled class 1 along with morphine and heroin. This is a rediculous conclusion that pres. Ron came up with, with his just say no. If I did not have access to marijuana I donât know if I would still be here, and I donât know if my husband would be here as well. I know you can not prescribe this to patients until the law changes, but no other doctor that he has seen, in neurology, in endocrinology, ENT, nor all other departments that he has been seen did anyone question his use of marijuana to help him cope with life. I have called patient advocacy but no one has called us back. My husband knows several people that see Dr. Nichols, and they were never once put through this. My husband fought in battle for our beautiful country and was mentally wounded, why does he have to go to war with Dr. Lalani every time he sees her to get the same meds that 2 other doctors have had him on for several years and they help him? Sincerely, Anna Howard. For my husband Dani
Horrible. Iâm a Veteran with PTSD, and this idiot is my shrink. I go to the Kansas City VA medical center and rely on this type of care. She specializes in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Iâm an adult. She collects money from the government while sitting safely at home, and during my time with her as my doctor, Iâve been without my medications 3 times. She calls me today and tells me that I smoke cannabis and it is a cause for concern in conjunction with my sleep medication. Tell me this lady, sleep with my pain and memories and then judge me. Iâve been smoking for years and this is cause for concern with a child psychiatrist..... Iâm contacting patient advocacy. Go back to private practice and leave the adults to do the real work.
