Dr. Narendra Kansal

I was sent to Dr. Kansal from my chiropractor. I was unable to sit, sleep, and basically felt like I was being tortured. I had pain in the lower back all the way down to my toes. If I got an hour of sleeping throughout the night I considered myself lucky. Dr. Kansal performed a micodiscetomy and after waking from surgery was one of the greatest feelings in my life, the unbearable pain was gone. Thank you Dr. Kansal!

Do not let this Dr. operate on you until you get a second opinion!!! I had a fall that resulted in herniated discs L4 & L5. After 2 years of exhausting PT and 2 cortizone shots he finally operated on me. However, the operation was going through my belly to the back, claims quicker recovery time..Wrong!!! Who ever heard of goung through the belly to get to the back?!?After 5 months of trying to walk again I still needed a cane and was in worse pain then the beginning. My last follow up visit he told me I needed to lose weight and keep walking... Nice thing to say after I did lose 22 lbs. in that last 5 months. Since then I have had another surgeon fix me but I'll never be able to walk without a cane or help and I can't work cuz no one will hire someone that can't lift things. This guy is truly amazing, my mother had a blood clot on the brain that came back twice and he did surgery and always updated me and kept me calm. I truly can’t thank him enough!!!

Dr. Kansal is amazing. He knew exactly what my husbands back issue was and fixed him right away. He performed the decompression laminectomy on his back which was a success. His back and sciatica pain is gone. Thank you very much for everything you did for him.

In September my wife was diagnosed with a severe Subdural Hematoma in the Mercy Hospital ER that required immediate surgery. The diagnosis was positive on CT Imagery. Dr. Kansal was the surgeon on call and was notified immediately of her condition. I believe his actions, his immediate intervention and the subsequent surgery saved her life. He is very highly regarded by his peers - and in my personal opinion (as a currently licensed physician in New York State) he is one of the top three neurosurgeons in Western New York. His care both in the hospital and his follow up was exemplary. We are very fortunate to have surgeons of his high caliber in our hospitals. I highly recommend him to my patients, friends and family.

To put it simply, Dr. Kansal saved my life. I was in the emergency room with a severe brain injury that required immediate surgery. He was caring, kind, compassionate and understanding. The surgery was a success. I went to his office afterwards for two visits. His office is easy to access, there was no wait time. His staff is friendly and helpful. I was blessed that he was on call when I needed care. I am very grateful for his expertise and care. I would strongly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a surgeon in WNY.

Dr. Kansal helped my severe back problem with surgery. The surgery corrected the pain, and took away the numbness I had in my leg.He was very informative about my mri's and took time explaining and answering all of my questions. Nice to have a doctor listen to your concerns and answer all your questions.. Definitely would recommend Dr.Kansal, did an excellent job relieving my back pain.

I had a MRI done. He said I see nothing that can be causing these symptoms. See you in three months. If he didn't see a problem why come back in three months? This man is an absolute magician!! I’ve walked with a limp for almost 10 years, I walked out of the hospital after surgery with NO LIMP!!! I cannot say enough about Dr. Kansal! Highly recommended!!

Doctor Kansal is a 5 star physician. I suffered from severe sciatica last year and he performed a microdiscectomy on me 6 weeks ago. The surgery went flawlessly and the recovery was rapid. My pain is completely gone now. Highly recommended!!

dr kansal is one of the best. My husband had disc problems, he did the surgery and my husband is fine. I have osteoporosis an i had compression fractures in my spine, I am so glad i had Dr Kansal do the Kyphoplasty, He is very thorough and does a lot of testing prior to surgery to make sure whats going on.

Dr. Kansal performed brain surgery on me for a severe brain bleed. Everyone at the rehab center that I went to after surgery commented on how well I was doing and what a great job Dr. Kansal did. My recovery was fairly quick with minimal effects. He was very personable during the follow-up visits and took time to answer any questions I had. I was more than satisfied with his treatment.

Due to a painful and urgent problem with my back, I was referred to Dr. Kansal by a local emergency room. He scheduled for me to be admitted immediately, and perform a micro-discectomy surgery the following morning. I was nervous about back surgery, but Dr. Kansal put me at ease. He is honest, to the point, and confident about his abilities. All qualities that I appreciate. His approach to recovery was simple. Follow instructions and listen to my body. Four weeks later I am doing well.

Office staff AND doctor were rude!! He was the only surgeon available within a reasonable time when I required removal of 2 synovial cysts causing nerve compression and agony so I went with him. He Did Not drain or remove the cysts, I woke with exactly the same pain. He laughed when I advised of the new back pain I’d never had. He broke facet bones & didn’t tell me, only found out from new surgeon’s MRI. He told me to lie down! for 5 wks post op, prob cause he broke those bones. Unethical!

I can't say enough about this Dr. and his staff. Fantastic! He gave me two options so I chose the surgery and I couldn't be happier

Recently did surgery on my husband, great doctor, wonderful bedside manner, not arrogant like some surgeons I've run into, very caring, explained everything, and was willing to take the time if we had any questions...Also wonderful office staff...would highly recommend

Dr. Kansal is a fantastic surgeon. My mother had a herniated disc that was pinching her sciatic nerve. This was creating terrible shooting pain that went down her leg round the clock!. She was referred to Dr. Kansal by a chiropractor she was seeing when the pain was in its early stages. After having an MRI reviewed by Dr. Kansal, he was able to diagnose the issue. He then went on to explain her options. Do nothing and hope that it goes away or gets better(which it was not going to), or have surgery. He went on to explain the surgery in microscopic detail, while at the same time making it simple enough for a child to understand. Also within his explanation he did go to great extent to explain the risks involved. This was not meant to provoke fear because there are risks involved in every surgery. My mother decided to put her faith and trust into the hands of this man, who has been in practice for 34 years. Experience is an understatement. The surgery itself took about 2 hours. She went under in unbelievable pain, and woke up with NONE!! Of course, she was sore from the surgery but that is to be expected. She followed his post surgery recommendations and instructions to the letter, and she is about to go back to work with no restrictions after what will be 8 weeks post op. I would recommend Dr. Kansal to anyone who is looking for solutions and results. Dr. Kansal is a master of his practice. I will end my review with this statement. When the surgery was over, he came to the waiting room to give me the report. The smile on his face was the same kind of smile you see when someone does something that really makes a difference. After shattering a vertebra, I was apprehensive as to how or if I could heal. Dr. Kansal calmed my fears with complete explanations of the procedures he would use including possible side effects. Dr. Kansal performed my slightly more than one hour procedure of injecting a spinal cement into the vertebrae. I am left with no pain, outside of the wounds. My wife was astonished the wounds looked like they already healed the next day when she removed my bandaids! We are highly impressed!

One of the Best Nurosurgeon's out there. I was in a Hospital where he was the on call surgeon that night. I couldn't have picked any better than if I had to choose! I had a tumor removed from left side of head. The scar healed beautifully, the incision was clean & precise. He checked on me every morning, faithfully. He kept up on nursing staff if my pain wasn't treated in a timely fashion. Also, my partner and I are a same sex couple. He treated us with equal dignity & respect!!

I had excruciating back pains and the earliest appointment I got from the recommended neurosurgeon was 4 months out. I couldn't wait that long. I did my own search and called Dr. Kansal based on his experience. He and his office staff understood my predicament and accommodated me the following day. The diagnosis was spot on. My condition required surgery which Dr. Kansal performed. It's the best call I made. I am now pain free. Professional, dedicated, and friendly, I highly recommend Dr. K.

Dr. K is amazing. He was able to diagnose my mother’s condition and describe the required procedure in a manner which could have been understood by a child. Very thorough. Very professional. Very benevolent. The smile on his face after completing the surgery was a sure sign he loves his patients, and his work. Thank you Dr. Kansas from my mother and I. You are outstanding!!

My experience with Dr. Kansal was top notch. His attention to detail and thorough care have been instrumental in my health today. I had been in an emergency situation and dealing with a rare syndrome, and Dr. Kansal was so helpful in explaining to myself and family details about my situation. My surgical procedure went very well, and I am walking and going about life today normally and pain free. I am extremely grateful for Dr. Kansal's skill and knowledge as a surgeon!

Misdiagnosed herniated discs in my neck. Refused to order Lumbar MRI. Staff is rude.

I had a great experience. I had a fracture in my back and Dr. Kansal did a Kyphoplasty and I feel great. Quick recovery time. Dr. Kansal explained everything. He was compassionate and caring.

I was in a fork truck accident a while back after many visits with chiropractor then the T12 finally gave out leaving me pretty much on the couch 24/7 I met with Dr Kansal and he offered 4 different procedures 3 that he felt could not be done leaving me with one that he felt would be safe and work we talked he explained the risks and I decided to move forward with it. When I first met him he was very honest. He tells you like it is, which is upfront.

He was very professional in his explaining of my problem. I was loseing the use of my hands, arms and leg. Explained the entire proceedure with what could happen with each step of the operation and what would happen if I didn't have the surgery. (I would be paralized from the neck down). The decision was mine to make. I chose the surgery. He is an excellent surgeon. I am more than pleased with the outcome of my surgery and am doing very well. I feel like he gave me my life back.

Dr. Kansal has been a great doctor to work with since my accident in January of this year. He has helped in plotting the best course of treatment for me which I was very happy with over all. Dr Kansal was very thorough. He reviewed my MRI and provided the proper recommendation to operate on the hematoma and blot clot.

I had surgery done on both my neck and a fusion in the lower back. Both surgeries gave me excellent results. Before the fusion I had so much pain and was hardly able to do anything. Now that my recuperation has taken place, I no longer needs to use a walker and have very little pain, other that was is caused by arthritis. WI am are able to walk the malls and go places again. My neck surgery had equally great results . Excellent surgeon.

Dr Kansal misdiagnosed three herniated discs for arthritis, as a result I now have irreversible spinal cord damage. He sent me to PT, chiropractor and prescribed medication and sent me on my way. 6 months later I had a second opinion and was taken into surgery for a spinal fusion. This Dr would open up my patient folder and ask me why I was seeing him.... he acted like nothing mattered to him but a paycheck. I would not recommend him to anyone, not even my worst enemy!
