Our son had reoccurring daily stomach episodes of which we made several visits to the ER with no resolve. After first going down the path of “functional abdominal pain” and constipation, our son learned to cope with a pain level of 5 or below and would sit out his favorite sports when the pain was above and unbearable. We came back after months of being on a laxative per Doctor’s orders and convinced the Dr to do a stomach scope. With nothing found, he continued telling us our son had nothing more wrong than constipation and we need to continually clean his out with laxatives. Dr. Altaf would not listen to our concerns of daily throwing up, massive attacks our son described as his stomach felt it was going to explode and constant diarrhea. He would cut us off mid sentence and say “he’s constipated.” After multiple visits to the office over an 18 month period and their unwillingness is listen, refer us to someone else or simply admit they didn’t know what was wrong… we began looking elsewhere in desperation for our son and ended up traveling to TX, from OKC to get the care our child needed and deserved. In a short period of listening to our concerns and a few test (of which he already had under Dr. Altaf’s care), we found a fantastic surgeon to remove his gallbladder and appendix. Excellent physician! We travel 2 hrs but it’s worth the drive. Takes all the time and makes us comfortable with the plan!

Horrible. After waiting months to see him, he spent only a couple minutes with my son. He gave us no hope or solution, just told me to keep my son on a laxative EVERYDAY. I voiced my concern over this as a solution, he stated there was zero evidence to any negative effects from this. Has offered zero theories, zero testing, my son is suffering and we have been entirely looked over by this doctor. Horrible. Dr. Altaf is a caring doctor who makes sure you and your child have all the information needed to maintain your childs health. This doctor takes the time to not only answer your questions, but the questions your child may have.

A very good Doctor, thoroughly know the patient before entering the room, calmly listen to the patient's concerns and gently examines the patient while keeps the kids happy. Takes time to explain the complexities of possible differentials and explains the plan. Keep this practice up. Dr. Altaf was great! I have been waiting for last 3 years for someone to make my son feel better, finally some relief. Will highly recommend Dr. Altaf and his staff!
