Dr. Moutasim Homod Al-Shaer

Al-Shaer was attending for mother's hospital visit. Despite mother showing acute and profound confusion due to hypercalcemia, repeat requests by patient & family that family be included in patient care this did not occur. Al-Shaer attempted discharge to family care without family being informed and without patient being informed. Patient care was horrible, Al-Shaer repeatedly had to be requested to permit patient to the questions he would ask her, rather than answer for her.When we simply asked what the treatment plan was, Al-Shaer became belligerent that he was being questioned. Perhaps this is a cultural difference in treatment, but it was severe enough the case worker and nurse came to discuss with us, and another doctor followed up afterwards.
