Dr. Mohamad Hytham Rifai

Dr. Rifai is my physician of choice. I trust him completely and feel he has my best interests at heart. He patiently listens and answers my questions, and he never rushes me through my appointment. He is very skilled and when he says he is going to take away the pain to make me feel better he means it! I love Dr. Rifai! I highly recommend him.

Appointment was rescheduled twice. The day of the appointment waited over an hour before I was called. Front office not friendly. Doctor did NOT explain the results of MRI and MRA and did not let me as questions and rushed thru appointment and said he will send me to another doctor in Chicago conversation only lasted about 3 minutes which I recorded the conversation. Doctor leaves and then nurse comes back and says here’s the doctors information called them to make appointment.

I was blessed to have such an experienced surgeon that truly gave me back my quality of life. I am truly grateful for Dr. Rafai.

The expert within his field , Dr Rifia. Although I never imagined I would need assistance of a Neuro specialist (Brain doctor) , I’m glad my family doctor recommended this professional! In addition, they are technologically advanced to accommodate all generations...

Follow up from a spinal surgery 3 months ago. Dr. Rifai is a skilled surgeon and has a kindly manner dealing with patients.

If you are overweight don't go he wouldn't help you

It was my first time to meet Dr. Jaffer. I found him to be very friendly and personable. He did not rush me and seemed very concerned about why I came to visit him. I have been coming to Dr. Rifai's office for many years and have always found that whatever Physician I came to see in the practice, was always very pleasant and concerned for my well being. I always recommend Neuro Spinal to anyone that has severe back problems. My best friend went to Dr. Rifai because I highly recommended him. As long as I live in NW Indiana I will be seeing Neuro Spinal for any of my back problems. Dr. Rifai made it possible for me to get a Morphine Pump in my side instead of taking pain killers and it has been a lifesaver for me. Thanks to him, I am not on any oral pain drugs.

Dr. Rifai has done spinal surgery on me in the past and I am going to use him again on a lower back issue. He is a calm and caring doctor who takes his time with you and listens to your issues.

THE OFFICE STAFF is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.I HAD AN APPT & THE OFFICE LEFT ME 4 MSGS SAYING DR. WON'T B IN. THAT WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH! INSTEAD THEY USED MY EMERGENCY CONTACT NUMBER TO TELL THEM FOR ME THAT DR.WON'T B IN. THAT IS B.S THAT WAS NOT AN EMERGENCY! AFTER 4 MESSAGES WHY WLD THEY THINK I DIDN'T GET THEM?CAUSE I DIDN'T BACK FAST ENOUGH FOR THEM. THAT IS WHY FROM NOW ON I DON'T PUT DWN AN EMERGENCY #. SORRY BUT THEY SHOULD B FIRED! BEFORE THIS HAD APPT I GAVE THE GIRL AT THE FRONT DESK MY DISKS. ME & MY SISTER WERE IN THE RM THEY KEPT ASKING ME WHO I HAVE THEM TO TOLD THEM AND THEY COULDN'T FIND MY DISKS SO WE SAID SCREW THIS AND WALKED OUT. NEVER GO TO THIS DR. CAUSE ALL THEY'LL DO IS HARASS U WITH PHONE CALLS & LOOSE EVERYTHING U GAVE THEM

Dr. Rafai and Dr. Jaffer performed lumbar laminectomy surgery for me. I have the utmost trust in their skills. They kept me well informed before and after the surgery. There office staff was always good to work with as well.

They was supposed to insert a spinal stimulator but found the actual problem and fixed it without me having to have the stimulator

I had fusion from a accident at one of the steel mills back in 2000 after a long period of PT. And later a MRI. Dr.Rifai determined I needed fusion in c4 and c5 . He did a excellent job.I'm sixty six now and never had a problem since the fusion.

There are many factors that affect the outcome of a surgery; however, my father had surgery to return movement to his arm and was left with quadriplegia. He lost use of both arms, partial use of his legs, and many organs were affected. He now lays in a bed wasting away. Our family mourns the memory of who our father was every day.

Dr Rifai performed neurosurgery at Franciscan St Anthony in Crown Point the afternoon of March 7th. My friend fell on January 26th hitting the back of his head. A CT scan came back as normal. During the ensuing 3-4 weeks headaches increased in pain level. A MRI on March 6 showed bilateral subdural hematomas. HIs manner was totally professional and caring at the same time! The followup by Dr. Jaffer was done in the same manner. He is now on the road to recovery. Thank you Dr. Rifai

He was very through with us and very informative of the problem and the procedure to resolve the injury. His professionalism and concern for our well being was beyond what we expected

When I had lower back pain for years and had gone to a number of different doctors, including to Loyola University Medical, I was told I only had a mildly bulging disk or I was getting older. Dr. Rifai was the only one to order a mylogram. The test showed that the disc was not bulging out, but was in the spinal canal. He preformed laser surgery and I was pain free. Secondly, Dr. Rifai was the one that found out why I was having Occcipital Neuralgia. He did the surgery which relieved the pain

I have been under the care of DR. RiFAI under two different occasions for the removal of a brain tumor,. At both encounters I have had complete trust in Dr. RiFAI and the most recent surgery with Dr. Jaffer his assistant also. I went and saw Dr Rifai a couple of months ago. He had done surgery on my husband about 10 years ago and it had gone very well. He saw my MRI and told me he wouldn't do anything for me and that I should get on Youtube and find a Physical Therapy video for spinal stenosis. I refused and explained to him that I would not know if the PT was qualified. Never again. He acted like I was begging for surgery or something, and made me feel like rubbish.

Dr Rifai is simply the best, I would put my life in his hands any time, highly recommended.

Worst Dr ever .please do NOT put your self between his hands. He did my husband such a horrible surgery, every Dr saw the MRI after that he told me what's a stupid Dr. I get there so easy apparently because he has no patients, no one wants him.

I found this Dr to be rude and dismissive . I have never had a physician complain to me as the patient . He complained about the quality of MRI images as well as the radiologists report. He also asked to see my surgical scar (. 2 years old) as if to imply I was not being truthful about having said surgery.
