He is the best doctor! He did a very succesful surgery for me.And I recovered very fast, did not have any issue after surgery. And he is very nice ,kind and confident doctor!I recommend him very much.
The father of my three children is alive and still in remission 13 years after diagnosis because of Dr. Berger, when other Surgeons said he wouldn’t make it. There are no words to express what a driven genius he is.
THIS AMAZING DR SAVED MY LIFE...... !!!! HANDS DOWN TO HIM AND UCSF.....
ONE OF THE BEST ❤️ GRATEFUL AND THANKFUL
I attribute the fact that I am still alive to him. 11 year GBM survivor. He is an amazing man.
There are no words to express my gratitude for Dr. Berger! When I was first diagnosed a neurosurgeon at UCLA gave me the likelyhood of only a 70-85% resection with 5-10 years to live. The next surgeon at Hoag gave me the best opportunity...he sent me to Dr. Berger at UCSF! He told me if Dr. Berger could do it i would likely have decades ahead of me. He’s honestly the best of the best! He resected ALL of the tumor into the healthy white matter without losing ANY language or motor skills. The UCSF neuro-oncologist told me that no other surgeon could have done for me what Dr. Berger did! My tumor location was in between the frontal and temporal lobes in a space called the insular. The first 2 doctors said they had only done 10-20 in this region (its somewhat rare) and that I would remain asleep for the surgery. Dr. Berger...he had done 377 of this surgery! He suggested his own awake, brain mapping technique. He wanted to keep me awake so that he could get the largest resection possible while still keeping me who I am! I have a 3 year old so words cannot express my gratitude to him for this! I am currently only 7 day’s post surgery...im on many drugs, but recovering well! I’m anxious for my next 50 years, Dr. Berger (holding you to that whether you meant to say it during my awake surgery portion or not ????). Sooo much gratitude and sooo much love to you and your family! May God bless you the way He has allowed you to bless others. Jackie There are no words to express my gratitude for Dr. Berger! I had 6 other neurosurgeons turn me away, telling me my tumor was too difficult, that I would either stroke and die on the table or I would be paralyzed. Dr. Berger said he could do my surgery and I would be walking in the park 3 days later. He was right! He is caring, compassionate and the best surgeon in the world!

Let me start off by saying my wife and I are here now. Dr Berger removed a tumor the size of a baseball from her frontal lobe. He is rumored to be the best neurosurgeon in the world. Well when others didn't want to touch this tumor or acted like it could not be done this man never even studdered his word when he looked me in the eye and said he would take it out and a full resection. He was sent to us from God and I truly will believe that for as long as we both live. He is the nicest most caring person. If you need brain surgery and you can at all possible find the means of coming to him then that would probably be of best interest. We flew 2000 miles to see him from west Virginia. He truly is one of a kind. Let me start off by saying my wife and I are here now. Dr Berger removed a tumor the size of a baseball from her frontal lobe. Dr. Berger was the third neurosurgeon to operate on my daughter for a rare and difficult ganglioglioma 16 years ago, after two other neurosurgeons had failed to remove most of the tumor. We travelled cross country for his care, too. He did a complete resection! My daughter is alive and has a wonderful life, despite some consequences of both the tumor and the three surgeries, only because Dr. Berger took the time and had the patience to follow the tumor everywhere it grew. He is our hero.

Caring, talented Professional that treated my Brain Tumor as well as was sensitive to what both myself and my Family was going through. I traveled across the Country for Surgery from Dr. Berger. Best decision I ever made. I'm +3 years Post-Op and would highly recommend Dr. Berger and his Team of Care Professionals to anyone who is unfortunate to require his Services. The Chicago Bears loss is a huge win for the fight against Cancer.
