Excellent doctor. Began seeing Dr. Cooper several years ago for painful ankle do to old fracture, On first visit he told me what was needed. After seeing him for a few more years and much decreased mobility, I finally agreed to ankle replacement surgery. Now four months post-op and, my ankle is better than it has been in 20 years! walking again! Office visits always pleasant and attentive. Get your ankle problems fixed here.

Poor scheduling and a grumpy nurse led to a frustrating experience. I had to wait in an exam room for 35 minutes to be seen. Dr Cooper took the time to explain things well and offer advice - which was great - but I will still be looking for a different doctor. Perhaps one with staff that treats me with dignity and respects my time?

Very personable and HEARS YOU when you speak or ask questions. Spends the time needed to resolve the problem YOU have. Tries to be as conservative but successful in your treatment. Just a good and nice doctor!!

Best dr I seen for a while

I had lost hope of being able to walk with out pain. I had been to many doctors, trying to find one that would help me. My last hope came in a referral to Dr. Cooper at UVA orthopedic. He showed compassion and caring for the pain I had been in. He was very honest in explaining all of the risk, but also reassured me that he would do research to prepare for all that went along with my special case. Thank you Dr. Cooper for being willing to use your expertise to give me back my life.

An amazing Dr. would highly recommend him if you need a foot Dr. treats patients with respect and listens to what you have to say.

Dr Cooper fixed a a severe mess that another ortho doc had created...My surgery with Dr. Cooper was probably 9 years ago and it is still holding up today. He gave me back the gift of walking and running and I will always recommend this gifted man without hesitation.

Dr. Cooper is one of the best specialists I've seen in years. I have an ankle that has been badly sprained numerous times in my life. He spent time explaining my injuries and options. I really like that he doesn't have a desire to rush into surgery as the first option. Expertise is my number one priority when selecting a physician. The fact that Dr. Cooper treats you with compassion and as if you are the only patient he has is a huge bonus!

Dr. Cooper was cordial, but seemed somewhat rushed, and uninterested in my foot problems. He didn't even take the time to give me the results of the foot x-ray that he'd ordered. I had to ask another doctor to explain the foot conditions the xray listed a couple of weeks after my visit with Dr. Cooper. Hopefully, this review and the other review that commented on his bedside manner, will help him to make a few adjustments, so that his future patients will have a better experience than we had.
