I have had 2 procedures done, one in 2004 L5 S1 partial disc removal, and this year C6 C7 cervical discectomy. I have nothing but accolades for her professionalism, attention to detail, communicative, and her performance. This also goes to the Staff she has, both in her office and colleagues she works with at Northwest Community Hospital. By far, if you are in need of a Neurosurgeon, she is top notch and one of the best doctors I have ever been associated with. Highly recommend you visit her if your future requires you to.

I have been working in the medical field for 35 years and I have very high expectations when choosing health care for myself and my family. After 5 months and seeing 7 Drs including 2 orthopedic, 2 neurologists, a muscular neurologist, and pain management anesthesiologist I still had no answer to my problem. Thankfully I was finally referred to Dr Foroohar. After reviewing my records she immediately diagnosed me and said I needed cervical surgery. She is very kind, very intelligent, experienced and took her time explaining details. My family and I were so confident with her. She had me come to the office 3 times before surgery with my husband to answer questions. It was important to her that her patient understands the process because it makes the recovery better. During the pandemic I had to face the surgery without my husband being with me and I felt SO confident in the hands of Dr Foroohar that I was very calm. My recent experience with Dr. Foroohar and her team was exceptional. She was thorough in her examination of my condition prior to and and during the process of outlining possible procedures and expected outcomes. And in terms I could easily understand. She also included my husband in an appointment specifically designed to make sure he understood the process and risks as well. I never felt rushed at any time. From her professional office staff to her surgical team I was treated with the utmost respect, compassion and understanding. They were never too busy to answer the multitude of questions I had throughout the process. Should I need additional procedures in the future I will not hesitate to contact her office and I highly recommend Dr. Foroohar.

Dr. Foroohar could not be nicer or her staff. She explained what was wrong with my back and that surgery was needed. I felt very confident in her right from the start. My surgery went well and I was up the same day. The next day I was home starting physical therapy the day after. I feel so much better and I would recommend her to anyone. Dr. Foroohar completed successful neck surgery on me last year so when I made the decision to have my carpal tunnel problem fixed she was my only choice to do the surgery. It seems trivial to ask a neurosurgeon of her caliber to do carpal tunnel surgery but thankfully Dr. Foroohar does it because it involves nerves. Advanced CTS is a debilitating problem to live with as you always have numb fingers which makes routine tasks like driving and exercising very difficult. I was tired of wearing a hand brace to bed and taking ibuprofen to lessen the pain. The surgery she performed on my hand was a complete success just as I knew it would be. The very first morning after surgery my hand was fine with warm fingers and no numbness or pain. I took 1 day off work for the surgery and the pain afterwards was minimal which meant I did not have to take pain killers. Dr. Foroohar is the best of the best and she has a world class staff as well. If you need a great neurosurgeon look no further.

I am a veteran patient of Dr. Mina's....20 years and 4 different procedures. She was also VERY instrumental in finding an issue with my hips. When no other ortho took enough time, she took it upon herself to arrange the necessary imaging and find the root cause. She is a very rare find...extremely gifted, talented, intelligent, excellent communication skills and very conservative in her approach to the most delicate of areas. As a patient, you work with her as part of her team, even including your spouse. She is no nonsense...but has a bedside manner the exudes confidence and makes YOU want to do for her! To say I trust her with my life...is greatly understated. To all who may have dealt with other surgeons...I am certain you may have found it difficult to be in the exam room with the doctor, yourself AND the doctors ego! NOT the case here. There is not now and has NEVER been one spec of this type of treatment and attitude. The young ladies on her staff...TOP NOTCH, every one!

Dr. Foroohar is a thorough doctor with checking the patient’s history, running essential tests, and listening to the patient. Based on all the info she then makes her recommendation for a needed surgery or not. She explains all the factors that will possibly effect you as the patient. I have great confidence in her ability as a surgeon. My back pain left me after the surgery to my relief.

First of all, Dr. Mina Foroohar is very friendly and professional, but her most important characteristic is her confidence. She really makes you feel comfortable and secure that you are in the very best of hands. She also comes highly recommended. When I was going through my pre-op testing, every person that I encountered at the hospital gave her the most glowing recommendations. This is very encouraging when your preparing for neck surgery. Second, her staff, Ashley, Roxanne and Annie are very warm, welcoming and proficient.

Dr Foroohar is a wonderful surgeon. I recently had my 3rd neck Surgery . My 1st surgery was about 10 years ago with Dr Foroohar. She explains in great detail your options etc. She is very detailed about her surgery and you feel like you are her only patient and that your well-being matters to her. Her staff of Ashley, Anna and Roxanne are very helpful. Ashley is wonderful with the paperwork aspect .My experience has always been positive with Dr Foroohar and her staff.

Dr Foroohar is a top notch experienced and knowledgeable surgeon. It's been 4 years since she operated on my ACDF C4-7. My first surgery was meant to be only 2.5 hours but it took her almost 4 hours because she discovered unexpected bone spurs and she meticulously took care of it. She is very thorough throughout her pre & post surgery to ensure you got the best care and advice. I have been back to running in the trails with no issues and functioning better than without the surgery. Dr. Foroohar is an amazing doctor and person. I had my first surgery at Loyola Hospital and that was a big mistake. I had nothing good to say about the doctors or the hospital. I was I worse pain than prior to the surgery. Two Years later I was referred to Dr Foroohar by 2 different people. A few months l she did surgery on my back And fixed everything Loyola screwed up..and this she did surgery on my upper spin this year. Her staff is as caring as she is. I would highly recommend her as a doctor you can feel comfortable with.

Confused to see Dr. Foroohar with 5 stars until I noticed it was just 2 reviews. I was waiting for an appointment as a new patient (for quite a long time) when I was told the doctor would have to reschedule and I’d be pushed back several weeks again. I mentioned my displeasure and canceled. Gave the doctor a 2nd chance recently and arrived at the office. I was told because of my past interaction I would not be taken on as a patient (To be fair, I missed a message they left weeks prior to my appt on voicemail). When I asked why they hadn’t tried to leave another message when they didn’t hear from me they said, “Lots of times after those messages we don’t hear back from patients”. I’m grateful for Dr. Foroohar and her staff. I had ACDF C6-C7 a year ago, and am happy to be feeling well. Throughout the whole process, Dr F, Crystal, and Ashley were wonderful. Whenever I had questions, they Foroohar me like I was the only patient, and made sure I had everything answered. I was so anxious beforehand, and am so glad I did, and am grateful for Dr. Foroohar and staff.

Dr. Faroohar is a very skilled an knowledgable surgeon. I was suffering from sciatic pain and lower back pain for some time. My surgery was done and I am feeling much better. Her office staff is very friendly and always have a smile on their face. The wait time to see the doctor was very timely. Dr. Foroohar is amazing! She truly cares about her patients' well being and will seek non- invasive options before opening the door for surgery. She performed a microdiscectomy on my lower back for 2 herniated discs in February 2019. My recovery has been slower than I expected but I am feeling better and I am able to do most of the things that I enjoy doing. I previously had a very successful back surgery with Dr. Foroohar. This year I heard that my balance and walking might be helped by a surgery involving the neck. I originally went to Dr Foroohar for a second opinion, well mid way through the visit I knew she was the one, I just can't say enough about Dr. Foroohar and her office staff. It's just Dr. Foroohar and her 2 staff members and they run that office like a well oiled machine.

I had surgery for spinal stenosis and fusion a little more than 2 months ago. Already I have been asked by 2 acquaintances for a referral since I have been so pleased with my care under Dr. Foroohar. She is pleasant to confer with, informative and does not rush you through your visits. I have had so many medical professionals express their respect for her. She has a reputation for being particular and exacting with medical team members but this translates to her being a real patient advocate. She has her eye on every detail of your care, right down to how much tape the dressing has. All for my comfort and good recovery. Unlike many neurosurgeons, she has an orthopedic surgeon work with her during procedures assuring the best of two specialties. I feel I couldn't have put myself into better hands.

I feel Dr Foroohar was an answer to prayer. After 4 years of excruciating back pain, I saw her for a second opinion. She gave a detailed explanation about how surgery could help my back. I was then confident for her to perform a laminectomy and fusion. Until this time, I did not want surgery. After spending one night in the hospital, I slept in my bed instead of a recliner for the first time in 10 months. I was off narcotics after 4 days. By three weeks I was walking 3 blocks without pain.

Beautiful lady, beautiful, professional doctor. Extremely qualified and she is personable too. She performed two cervical fusions on me. After the went home the same. Even referred my hushand, 87 year old mother, and my neighbor. Confidence level is very high.

Dr. Foroohar is a saint! I had been having pain radiating down my right side for more then 2 decades with me just putting a band aid on it before I would seek out intervention from a surgeon. The care you receive from her and her staff cannot be measured in money, it comes with training and experience. As I was very nervous, they eased my fears. My pain in right side is completely gone and I am only 2 months out getting ready to go back to work. All I can say is THANK YOU!

Seriously one of the best doctors and neurosurgeons around! I had a herniated disc in my C5-C6 level. This being my first surgery I was a bit nervous on what to expect, but her and her staff walked me through it step by step. By the time of the surgery date, I walked in with no doubt in my mind that I was in amazing hands. Coming out of the surgery I felt a little sore but after a few days I felt better than I had ever been for a long time. If you have to get any neurosurgeon, she is the best.

Exactly one year ago, Dr. Foroohar performed spinal fusion surgery on me along with Dr. Manion. The results have been all one could ask for. The office staff is so caring and efficient. Scheduling is easy and I'm usually seen right on time or even before my appointment is scheduled. When you see the doctor, it's as if you are her only patient. She remembers every detail about you and takes the time to answer any questions you might have. I can't recommend Dr. Foroohar enough

Dr. Foroohar assisted in my 2nd spine surgery in 2004 and now she did my neck surgery, I was very scared and nervous but she totally put me as ease explaining everything and assured me all was going to be good she totally exceeded my expectation, my scar is so small she is very caring, patient and understanding. Dr, Farooha exudes confidence and professionalism in a most pleasant manner. I was treated, by her, for a couple of years prior to my surgery....and now am getting back to "'normal" with physical therapy following the surgery... Every element of my treatment by Dr Foroohar has been excellent. No problem getting an initial appointment. Evaluation was professional. Clearly responded to questions. Surgery went well. Recovery has been just about exactly as she predicted. I think the partnership she has with Dr Minnion to correct my issue is thoughtful and sensible. Certainly appropriate in my opinion. Dr. Foroohar performed my cervical spine fusion. My neck is much improved after only 4 months, and the scar is almost nonexistent already. A plastic surgeon couldn’t have done better. She is professional, thorough, kind, takes time to listen to every concern and addresses them all. I would recommend her to my family and friends, and I will use her again in future for my lumbar problems. The efficient office staff makes everything easy, and they’re kind. I’d give more stars if I could.

Dr foroohar did neck and back surgery on me and from the beginning she gave me a feeling of confidence that I was in the best of hands. Everyone that works with her has a great deal of respect for her abilities. The people she surrounds herself with seem to be the best of the best. The results have eliminated a great deal of pain and for the first time in about three years I don't have a constant feeling of being tired. I would use and recommend her to anyone who wants to enjoy life again.

Enough cannot be said about the wonderful experience I had. From the moment I met the doctor, I knew I was in great hands. The thought of having surgery terrified me, but with Dr. Foroohar's experience the outcome could not have been better. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Foroohar and her staff. Dr. Foroohar is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions putting me at ease. From making my first appointment, seeing the doctor and following up, I have never had such a great experience. Highly recommended!

I am just so thankful, I found a Surgeon like Dr. Foroohar when I was going through a lot of pain from a herniated disc. While the wait time to get an appointment with some of the specialists closer to me was months, I was able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Foroohar in a week's time. She was very professional and detailed. I was in the surgery room within 15 days of my first appointment. The surgery went really well, the pain was gone in a couple of weeks after surgery.

I wish previous doctors told me I was ready for surgery. Within minutes of my first meeting with the doctor I was ready to sign up for surgery because of the way she conducts herself and her practice. I have gown through many practices because they grow too big and won't return phone calls on a timely basis. You are 5 star doctor in ALL ways. I thank my lucky stars for finding Dr Foroohar. Suffering with Spinal Stenosis for many years my right leg got worse and worse. Finally had to do something about it. From my initial office visit to my latest office visit, it's been my best doctor visits by far. The two day surgery/hospital stay was uneventful, thanks to the great care provided and directed by Dr Foroohar. Don't delay, if you are suffering or in pain go see Dr. Foroohar. Dr Foroohar is excellent. She answered all my questions, and tried all conservative options before recommending surgery. Once those were exhausted, she got me scheduled very quickly. I feel like the surgery was a success as I am feeling better than I have in a long time. The office staff is always friendly and very helpful.

I had stenosis and herniated discs that kept me from walking any distance. I did yoga, tried shots, and had acupuncture. ..every conservative measure I could take to relieve the back and leg pain. I decided to have the surgery. Dr. Foroohar worked with an orthopedic doctor so I got the best of the best to work on my nerves and on the carpentry during the surgery. Dr. Foroohar is thorough and caring. I couldn't have had a better doctor.

Dr. Foroohar is the best of the best! I had been dealing with debilitating hand/arm numbness and pain for months before getting another opinion from Dr. Foroohar. Dr. Foroohar is knowledgable and kind. She prescribes conservative management before recommending surgery. She is truly an advocate for her patients. She testified in a workman's comp case for me to assure I would get the appropriate treatment for my back injury.

I just discovered that my cervical fusion did not fuse properly 2 years post op by an orthopedic doctor. Also the titanium screw is broken. I now have to have a 3rd surgery. There is just no fathomable way that she would not have noticed the bone was not fusing with all the x-rays taken and I was never informed. Though to me she seemed very meticulous and very good...I am utterly shocked to be in this fragile condition requiring a surgery to correct the last one. I will never return.

very detailed and took her time to explain everything. I had several question even though the surgery was very basic for her it was very important to me. She told me right off the bat that if you will never go back to the way I was and what did I want out of the surgery. I love her for being very upfront.
