I will never forget what Dr. Straznika did for me. She saved my life. She was at the end of her shift, I was declining quickly from a tumor in my lung and bleeding out from it. She quickly came in to speak to my mom about the situation and tan me to emergency surgery. She truly saved my life, if you need a local thoracic surgeon she is the one. I will forever be grateful for her to save my life. I am also a nurse by occupation and to be on the other side I felt I was in good hands given my life was in her hands. Dr. Straznicka was amazing! With as nervous as I was, she relieved all anxiety for me. She talked with me, not at me. She explained everything in a way that I could clearly understand. She spoke to me as an equal, not down to me. She gave me options, and didn’t push me toward any which one. If you need her, I trust she will be there. Surgeons who have skill, brilliance, compassion plus a sense of humor are rare, but that's what you get when you walk into the office of Dr. Strasnicka. I needed some low-invasive lung surgery to exorcise a cancerous node, and Dr. Strasnicka vanquished it in a few hours. Post-surgery, she stopped by several times to check lungs and smile her everpresent smile. Bedside manner? A+. I am now in recovery and doing well. Here's the bottom line: Dr. Strasnicka is more than a topflight surgeon -- she is a true healer.
