My experience with Dr. Vaughn does not even deserve 1 star. He barely took his eyes off his computer during the three rushed 5-10 minute appointments I had with him. He was rude and made me feel uncomfortable by his terrible bedside manner. However, the worst part of my experience with him is that he spoke to my husband about my “treatment plan” and “diagnosis” BEFORE even speaking to me about these. Shame on him for violating my rights as a patient. I’m going to a different psychiatrist for a second opinion… a doctor who actually cares about me. RETIRE, DR. VAUGHN! You do more harm than good.

Extremely conscientious doctor who takes the time to listen first, and make a medication plan that is conservative / least invasive as possible. Our family really trusts him to work with our young adult daughter.

If I could give Peachford 0 stars I would. DO NOT GO HERE OR SEND A LOVED ONE HERE. I HIGHLY encourage people to contact and file a complaint with the following entities regarding the abuse and medical negligence that repeatedly occurs at Peachford. Additionally, you or a guardian can request an immediate transfer to another facility if they are at Peachford currently. Listed below are ways you can hold Peachford Administration, staff, and physicians accountable. Submit a complaint with the Georgia Department of Community Health (as a patient or a relative of a patient who was at Peachford): https://dch.georgia.gov/divisionsoffices/healthcare-facility-regulation/facility-licensure/hfr-file-complaint The contact agency is Healthcare Facility Regulation and their contact numbers are as follows: phone 404-657-5726 or 5728, or if calling outside of the Atlanta area 1-800-878-6442. Additionally, I also encourage you to file a complaint with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services: https://www.cms.gov/index.php/Regulations-and-Guidance/Administrative-Simplification/Enforcements/FileaComplaint Another recommendation is to contact the member services division of your insurance company and request that they break/cut all ties and contracts with Peachford. Moreover, I have reached out to and have spoken with multiple news organizations that are interested in investigating Peachford. I am reaching out to journalists at the LA Times, SF Chronicle, and The NY Times as well (I have a professional relationship with several investigative journalists with whom I’ll will be sharing my story with.) I wholeheartedly believe that patients who have been in Peachford could file a class-action lawsuit against the company for medical negligence. The Administration and every physician that works there needs to be held accountable. This is only a small snip-it of my experience: Male and female adult patients eat together in the same room at the same time along with children that are in the hospital. I witnessed a physical fight betweentwo male patients in the cafeteria that resulted in an enormous amount of blood being splattered through a large portion of the cafeteria, in part due to the inaction's and inadequate number of staff. Staff then rolled food carts through the blood (before it was appropriately cleaned up) and tracked it throughout the hospital. The children were brought into the cafeteria to eat before the blood was cleaned off the food, equipment, floor, and the drink and condiment area. Additionally, I observed cockroaches both live and dead in the cafeteria. Also, I was made aware that a male staff member slept with/took advantage of a female patient who was kept in the male wing (along with many other female patients and myself). I requested MULTIPLE times to be moved from the men's ward to the female ward because I felt unsafe after a male patient sexually harassed me. STAFF DID NOTHING!!!!!!!!!! Patients who are admitted for suicide intervention are mixed with patients who are admitted with major psychological disorders such as schizophrenia - which is HIGHLY inappropriate. Patients are locked out of their rooms for 7+ hours at a time and forced to sit in a common area for "group therapy" sessions that do not occur and if they do, they are damaging. The Patient Advocate is a legal measure the hospital must have in place due to regulations; however, the person does not return phone calls from patients or their families, and I believe this is intentional. All phone calls go directly to voicemail. My husband made multiple calls to this number and left messages with no reply. This place needs to be SHUT DOWN. Please share your story with all the above entities so adults and children do not continue to

He has been very helpful for me. Anytime I’ve needed him in between appointments he has worked me into his schedule.

Dr. Vaughn feeds an addicts addiction writing scripts for Suboxone and uppers and downers at the same time. Peachfird is a big old Pill Mill.

Treated me as if everything I said was a potential lie, that I was probably some sort of addict, as that is one of his specialties, met me once, refused to write prescriptions, and was basically an unpleasant, judgmental prig. He was unconcerned that I needed long time medications, told me to buck up, they were not needed and I could manage. I would recommend that if a patient is seeking a nice person and a good doctor this hateful man is not the right one for anyone with self respect.

I can honestly say that Dr. Michael Vaughn & his staff is truly a gift from God! Dr. Vaughn is so understanding and very assertive and he NEVER judges you on what you tell him rather it’s good or bad. I’ve been his patient since August of 2015, when I voluntarily admitted myself into Peachford Hospital. No matter what you’re going through, whenever you decide to make that decision that you need help, Dr. Michael Vaughn is highly recommended.
