Dr.Stang explained my condition to me and what needed to be done. No one wants to have surgery but he calmed me with his reassuring professional manner. I felt very safe. Surgery went very well. Very impressed with Dr.Stang and Claire. Would definitely recommend. Excellent surgeon.

Dr.Stang has to be the very BEST doctor in all ways. Competent: performed parathyroid surgery- smooth process, smooth recovery, and no visible scar! He is considerate and patient!! His staff is wonderful. I found him by searching for best parathyroid surgeon. I drove 4 hours to see him, returned for surgery. and returned for follow up. Dr Stang performed my thyroid removal, and though I am still sore I cannot tell you how glad I am that I have him as a surgeon. When I found out I had TC I was really devastated and shocked, but meeting with Dr Stang really helped all of that, he has a great bedside manner. Even though the topic is difficult one , he explains everything in great detail and assurance. He mad me feel worlds better. I am positive once I heal, despite the extent of my surgery my scar will be barely noticed. God forbid I ever need this done a second time I will be going to Dr Stang amazing man and I am so happy he chose to share his steady hands and surgical gift with me. Thank you is just not enough. UPDATE : I’m not sure Danielle isn’t helping this office respond to patients but the new staff member Claire Reynolds, is not good for this office at all. She has been so rude to me about a simple synthroid refill. I was so offended by her response to something I consider very important. ***** recently had a robotic assisted thyroidectomy by Dr Stang. For years I've been going through so many hormonal imbalances due to thyroid issues. Duke gave me immediate answers and referred me to Dr Stang. He was so calming and reassuring and I cried because I felt FINALLY someone gets it. Sept 26 2016 about a month after my first consultation,was my surgery. Again such a calming demeanor. I was terrified but not when Dr Stang walked in. I felt at ease. Today was my post op follow up and I must have to emphasize once again...beside manner...empathy...compasson....attentive...he has it all. I'm on the road to taking back my life thanks to him. Dr. Stang made me feel so comfortable during my surgical consult. He was very detailed and answered every question I had. My surgery was a success and I highly recommend him and his staff.

Referred to Dr Stang because I had a large lump at my thyroid. Dr. Stang explains things very well and is very thorough. I had a partial thyroidectomy with him in Jan 2019 and it went amazing. His bedside manner kept me calm and he did a wondeful job explaining how it went to my husband afterward. I would definitely recommend him to everyone who has to come to the Cancer Center for their thyroid. Referred to Dr Stang because I had a large lump at my thyroid. Dr. Michael Stang is an awesome person as well as Surgeon. He has a great bedside manor. I would recommend him to anyone that needs thyroid surgery. My thyroid was 10 times larger than a normal thyroid. He did a great job. I have not had the first problem since surgery.

I was referred to Dr. Stang after dealing with Hashimotos Thyroiditis for several years, and just general Hypothyroidism for 10 years. After an ultrasound showed a pea-sized growth, I began seeing Dr Stang and adjusted my meds, scheduled some follow-ups, and then...in and out for Surgery. Dr. Stang is very personable, and has been wonderful in taking time explaining everything, and going into detail. Answers any questions you may have. Really makes you feel comfortable and wants you to feel relaxed. Dr Stang relates with people on a personal level, not just as "a patient with a number". He even talks to you about his wife and mother-in-laws struggles with Thyroid issues. Just very reassuring and calming personality, especially knowing that you're dealing with something that messes so badly with your hormones that you feel crazy and like no one understands- He does. Dr. Michael Stang is a truly dedicated and caring surgeon. I had a thyroid surgery in June of 2016. I am so impressive on his consulting sessions before the surgery: he answered all my questions and explained in very easily understandable details about the thyroid disease and the procedures of the surgery. This helped relieve my stress before the surgery. I had such a successful surgery, and the thyroid function level is normal after the surgery. I did not use any pain medicine after the surgery
