I used to be nervous with psychiatrist. I've been seeing Dr. Sheehan for over 5 yrs now and I've never been more comfortable opening up and sharing my thoughts and problems. He is the best Dr. I've ever had I highly suggest that if you need any help or just someone to open up to, that you make a visit with him. He has treated me like family

I have been a patient of Dr. Sheehan since June 2002. He has been a great support through many difficult times in my life. I never have ever felt like a number or quota that a Dr. needs to see or treat. Dr. Sheehan has always taken the time required to assist with your quality of life. Dr. Sheehan .. Is the absolute best!! Dr. Sheehan is absolutely fantastic, I’ve been seeing him over a year and have never been this successful in my treatment before seeing him. Yes you will have to wait for your appointment but that’s because he doesn’t rush you through your appointment and out the door. If you want a doctor that doesn’t rush people in and out and actually cares that’s what it takes most times. Tabiena (sp?) in his office is wonderful and caring and will even make sure to call your pharmacy to ensure proper cost and availability. In short Dr. Sheehan and his staff are the best and after struggling for over a decade the past year has been the best because of it. First off, it takes forever to actually reach someone in order to make an appointment. Second, it's practically impossible to schedule an appointment. Do not recommend.

Dr Sheehan made me feel very cared for and payed close attention to everything I had to say. Normally I have a hard time getting everything I want to say across but he asked the right questions and on our first visit gave me a treatment plan as well as reassuring me that everything will get better from here on. Tabiena at the front desk was absolutely wonderful! She was the sweetest thing from our initial conversation setting up my appointment to the time I waved goodbye out the door. I'm afraid of psychiatrists. Dr Michael Sheehan is more than just that. He listens and cares about you. He actually spends time with you. He has true empathy and very well educated. Even if you are in need and out of the country, Dr Michael Sheehan was there for me. His staff is incredibly articulate and caring. Even if you have to wait an hour for your appointment, that's because he is taking the time, love and compassion with the previous client. You don't find that with other doctors in his field. Amazing psychiatrist. Hard to find a good one. But the wait is so awful! All my appointments I’m waiting AT LEAST 2 HOURS!!!! So you have to make sure you have absolutely nothing planned that day or else you will be late for it. And the lady who you talk to on phone for dr Sheehan is not the nicest she gave me so much attitude when I called for more meds and appointment. Amazing psychiatrist. Hard to find a good one. I have been a patient of Dr Sheehan for over 20 years. I must say that he truly takes a personal interest in his patients, and knows extremely well how to make an accurate diagnosis of symptoms, medication, and of myself and others as people who want to get and stay well! He is brilliant, and very professional. What really stands out, is like so many others state, is that Dr Sheehan really does care about the welfare of his patients. Yes, he spends a very large amount of time with his patients! Many doctors do not have this type of committment where Dr Sheehan does. Dr. Sheehan maintains contact with the academic, research psychiatry community, meaning he is very up to date. His patients are willing to wait a long time because he puts our needs first. He doesn't just prescribe medicine; he listens and advises when a patient needs extra help. We all wait because one day it may be us who needs the extra time. I've been a patient of Dr. Sheehan's for 10 years and feel fortunate to have found such an intelligent, compassionate doctor to oversee my treatment. It is true that there are days when you will find yourself waiting a long time (usually, when there is a delay, it will be about an hour or so), but over the years I have noticed that it is because he does take his time with each and every one of his patients. Many psychiatrists will just take a quick glance at patients, ask them if they're ok and just write Rx refills and send them on their respective ways, but this is absolutely not the case with Dr. Sheehan. There are days when my visits are quick and I am on my way, and there are days when my visits take longer - every time I have to sit and wait a bit past my appointment time in order to be seen, I remind myself that sometimes I'm the one who needs a little extra time, and I really do feel lucky that he is the kind of doctor who cares enough to take that time. I do understand not everyone has the luxury of taking the chance they'll have to wait past their appointment time - when I know I cannot wait very long due to work, etc. I try to get the earliest appointment time available, there tends to be less chance of delay then. Otherwise, if my appointment is midday/afternoon, I just take a half day at work so I am not worried about getting back late. Bottom line: Dr. Sheehan is excellent, and worth the wait. Dr. Sheehan treats me like a person. Not just a patient—a whole person. He's a good listener, honest about what he thinks you need, understanding, knowledgeable and non-judgmental. He tells it to you straight; it's up to you whether you are willing and motivated enough to follow through. I'm very lucky to have Dr. Sheehan as a partner in my ongoing commitment and work toward a healthier, happier version of me. Cannot recommend him enough.

The doctors in this office don't authorize emotional support or service animals. When I first started going, the policy wasn't determined so it was disappointing, to me, to find out they don't. Dr. Sheehan is good at finding a medication that helps and the staff will schedule appointments anytime you need one. The TV plays health advertisements so it's difficult to read or converse. The wait time is generally long so I recommend listening to music or an audio book.

I've been under psychiatric care for 20 years. Prior to seeing Dr. Sheehan ten years ago, I never received any consistent long term relief from my symptoms. I attribute my mental stability and wellness for the past ten years to his expertise. He is attentive, genuine and caring. I highly recommend him.

Dr Sheehan is a wonderful, intelligent, professional who is compassionate and cares about each patient. His education and experience make him second to none.

He is very responsive and complete. Always makes me feel comfortable. I have made great progress since seeing him. He can sometimes run very, very, very behind but rest assured it is ecause someone needed him and he made sure to give them complete care which is exactly what he does when YOU need him. It made be inconvenient but i just plan ahead because he is worth it. I drive an hour just to see him. He is well worth it.

Definitely 5 stars. I have been a patient since 2001. He takes the time to sincerely listen and help give the advice and answers you NEED to hear, not what you may want to hear. He is a straight shooter which I truly appreciate. I Highly recommend Dr. Michael Sheehan.

I was nervous but Dr. Sheehan was very easy to talk to and open up to. He was able to put pieces of my life together in a way that made sense. I feel he has my best interest in mind and really wants to help me. I would absolutely recommend him to someone seeking help.

Dr. Sheehan is an excellent psychiatrist. He does not rush you in and out on follow up visits but instead listens carefully to you. His responses are considered and thoughtful, and he is very insightful. He is also kind and compassionate. I am very happy that he is my doctor. I am doing better now than I have in years under his care.

Spent a great deal of time with me on my first visit. I felt at ease from the initial handshake.

Dr Sheehan takes the time to look at everything that is going on with the patient and will make adjustments to scheduling as well as medicines as needed. I was referred to him as one of the most knowledgeable doctors in this area who knew how to find the right combinations of medications to get the best results as quickly as possible.

He spent over an hour going over my medical and mental history to create a plan that would address both short and longterm goals. He explained anything that was unclear, and was both compassionate and professional. I would highly, highly recommend him.

Dr. Sheehan is an amazing doctor. Though the wait time can be extensive, it is well worth the wait. Dr. Sheehan spends as much time as needed to discuss my issues, short-term solutions and long term treatment goals. I was apprehensive about seeing a doctor, but he is gentle while being straight forward. He is engaging, provides insight and incorporates my opinion in his treatment plan. I am not sure where I would be without Dr. Sheehan.

when they say running behind believe them. how do patients hold jobs when the have no idea how long the wait before your appointment! The sweet lady behind the desk said welcome to mental health when she told me he was running behind. Does ANYONE want to be welcomed to mental health!!! don't we all just want to be ok???? do they really care where your $100 comes from? will the worry about you after you are out of them? Nope! they just say they cant see you anymore. no individual care.

Dr. Sheehan is a skilled, compassionate doctor. Recommended to me by a friend who is a physician. I live a distance, trip is very tiring, but worth the drive every visit. Dr. Sheehan's staff is pleasant & kind & returns calls promptly. Lobby wait time can be long, but you are never rushed out of his office when it is your time with him. Highly recommend.

Waiting to see Dr. Sheehan (vs. seeing another doctor with a shorter waiting list) was one of the best decisions I've made in years. With a strong background in psychopharmacology (from what I gathered reading online), I knew I would be getting a highly educated professional... what I did not expect was how personal and sincere he has been with me, really becoming someone I see as an ally in a long-waged battle to maintain mental wellness. He does not pander, however. His genuine engagement with the outcome of my treatment -- visible through actions -- is what really has shown me that he (and Tabiana, his long-time assistant) were genuinely trying to help me. I've seen two other psychiatrists and the experiences were far worse for several reasons. When it comes to matters of health, especially mental health, forming a meaningful, trustful connection with your doctor and his or her team is imperative. Combine positive rapport with assertive, precise diagnoses (and aggressive approach to treatment) and you might find yourself compelled to go online and thank you in a way only an online marketer would -- a 5 star review on Google.
