Michael S Sellman

After suffering with migraines for 30 years and having them more often in the past year, my primary dr recommended I see neurologist. Dr Sellman had me do MRI and bloodwork to rule out more serious issues and then prescribed me medication that has already been effective after just a week! He really listened to my history and concerns and was willing to start me at low doses since I tend to have side effects if I take typical adult dosages.

We met Dr. Sellman 2/14/23. He was patient and a very good listener. He listened to my concerns and gave my wife the same respect when she filled in the blanks to complete my history. He was personable and laughed with us. He answered every question we had. He reassured me regarding my concerns. He reviewed his plan of treatment slowly and thoroughly. And, he is accessible. What more can you ask for? I'm glad he is treating me as we, my wife and I, feel safe under his care. He is widely recommended by physicians...he is a doctor's doctor. That's a high recommendation.

Dr. Sellman is excellent I highly recommend him.

Had my first visit with Dr. Sellman on Nov. 4 and found in him the doctor I was praying to find. He took time questioning me and listening to my concerns. He is proactive in getting to the bottom of my neuropathy. I highly recommend Dr. Sellman at GBMC if you are looking for a top notch neurologist.

I had a fall in February 2021 had a concussion and have had so many issues the neurologist I have been seeing for months has not heard a word I speak. Horrible... spends 10 minutes and writes a 7 pages report.. Did not preform any mentioned exams he stated on summary. He is a horrible person.Would not trust him with my dogs.

On the insurance company's payroll. Does not care about you. Rude, sexist.

He is rude and disrespectful person. He does not understand mental health and chooses to write off patients with trauma experiences. I would not recommend him for anyone

I was so hopeful going into my appointment. I've been dealing with multiple TBI's for a decade. I was looking for help. For someone to treat me as a human being and with respect. Instead, he was extremely rude, unprofessional, degrading, FEEL ASLEEP TWICE during the appointment. I was looking for help adjusting my medications or alternatives. I told him how every Dr judges me when I am truthful about my condition and pain that I deal with daily for 10yrs. How I'm not someone looking for narcotics, etc. Just want to modify my treatment. He said "if you're looking for drugs go to one of those run of the mill drug centers." I told him not to treat me like that. I'm not a drug addict. Then he said "we'll order tests and I'll prescribe you a new medication." The medication is for lowering blood pressure. Not for headaches and migraines. They can actually cause them. Also it takes 3-4 months for medicine to take effect. I'm so glad I wasted my time and was disrespected and treated like trash. He didnt care about what I've gone thru. Would ask questions and then cut me off as I was answering. And kept falling asleep. I've never been so furious. Completely unprofessional. I guess I was interfering with his morning nap time. Dr. Sellman saved my life. After visiting multiple doctors and 5 hospitals, he diagnosed me and began my treatment. I was just days from being paralyzed. He treated me kindly, was transparent and respectful. He is truly one of a kind.

Terrible!! Did not appear to care about what I had to say. Was VERY condescending. Behaved as if I was wasting his time. Spoke to me and used language like “the back doctor “ as if I could not understand medical terminology and if I did not understand then it is his responsibility to explain it to me. It was the worse visit I have ever had to a doctor’s office!! Would not see him again ever nor recommend him to any self respecting person!

Dr. Sellman is two-faced and brusque. He doesn’t listen to begin with, and even if it suddenly seems like he’ll help you and cares - if he can’t find what’s wrong in tests he’ll go back to treating you like you have a mental problem when everyone who knows you know it isn’t so. Kind of like you’re wasting his time, or as someone wrote above that speaks like he has other patients with “real problems” to deal with and you’re a bother. He reminds me of one of the unsuccessful doctors in the movie “Brain On Fire”. If you want to get treated with dignity and respect I’d recommend going to someone else. It’s very unfortunate because every single one at the hospital aside from him are SO sweet and sympathetic. It would be so much better if he just explained what his findings were or any areas he wasn’t sure of, instead of saying goodbye to you and “you’re done” with many unexplained symptoms/reactions and results still pending. Easy to talk to, listens to our problems. We felt comfortable with him. Would recommend him to people with nerve problems.

Have been seeing this Dr for years and he was the only one to finally treat my migraines as if they mattered.

Terrible! Wrote "normal hand strength" bilaterally when he didn't even touch me much less assess my strength! Being treated at PT for left hand weakness at the time and unable to work because of it.

Seen dr sellman for a IME appointment with travelers insurance company and after his report I came out of there retarded and after his reasonable amount of medical experience you can tell he is for the insurance company all the way. Sad person and is in cohotes with travelers and personel there . Take a witness next time.

I saw Dr.Sellman yesterday for the first time, his office staff was very professional and friendly. I did not have to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment. Dr. Sellman was very thorough and friendly. He was very easy to talk with and explained my issue very well. He ordered some follow up tests for me and called me personally today with the results.
