Dr. Michael Mark Nelson

My very first dermatology appointment… A little nervous… Dr Nelson and his entire staff were professional, kind very knowledgeable and made the experience some thing I look forward to now on an annual basis.

Dr. Nelson was disinterested, rushed, and incompetent. He did not do a manual inspection and sat so far away that he couldn't do an effective visual inspection of the areas where I reported having skin tags or raised, rough skin. He told me there weren't any issues he could treat. After he left the room, I used the hand mirror to confirm that the skin tags were indeed right where I had indicated. I called him back in and had him freeze them. I think he was repulsed by the sight of an older woman's body even though I was freshly showered and well-groomed. Dr. Nelson's bias and squeamishness compromised his ability to provide competent health care.

Horrible! No patient/doctor manners at all. I have never walked out in the middle of an appointment...but, this was one doctor that I almost did. I was ready to just get up and leave. He has. A terrible personality— very mean and condescending. Makes the patient feel “so little”. I would never go back to him and I told the nurse that as I left after he handed me a form to make a follow up appt.

Rude, condescending and inconsiderate. Office not set up to handle seniors without computer access.

Made an appointment 6 weeks prior. Received a reminder card in the mail. I showed up early for my appointment and was told sorry, there was no appointment in the computer and the Dr. was too busy to see me. Then I was told they had upgraded their software and my appointment probably got lost in the transfer. The receptionist said if I wanted to drive to Tacoma they MAY be able to get me in, but other than that sorry. I will not be back and I will not recommend this office.

While he may know his ailments, his bedside manner is very off putting. Seemed completely disinterested in my history and what I was hoping for in terms of treatment approach. He treats the aliment, not the patient. Accurately and quickly diagnosed one condition but simply threw $300 prescriptions at my other concerns that do not address the root cause.
