I have been seeing Dr Moates for about 19yrs I have found him to be the most caring knowledgable physician I’ve ever seen. He listens and cares.

Untrustworthy

He cares about each of his patients and sincerely does his very best to help them. He takes the necessary time to actually listen and decide the best way to help.

Instead of helping the opioid problem in the area he lives in, he thinks no drugs for pain patients is the only answer. Mike wants to distract and occupy the patient with self improvement as the form of psychology and the answer to Chronic Pain His belief is that he and he alone should be place in charge of the medicine cabinet. He believes, as a person with little to no pain symptoms, he can determine better than anyone who is qualified for pain relief medication and if you do not agree, tough. This man is a narrow minded idiot trying to advance himself and his very self centered agenda. Sad Sad Little man. He could have been a good Nazi.

If I could leave less than one star I would. My husband has seen Dr. Moates at the VA twice and both times he has told us bold faced lies regarding my husband's medication. His pure laziness to not go through the system to find and review a record is uncalled for, and then to tell a patient that he will fill their medication that they have been on for over 6 years, not once but twice, and then not fill the medication either time is nothing less than deceitful and should be criminal. First of all Dr Moates works for the VA and the other doctors in the comparison review are elsewhere, most at UAB. So that's like comparing apples and bunny rabbits. Second, on any given day any of those doctors can be a 1 or a 5. My experience of Dr. Moates is that he is a knowledgeable physician who does the best job he can under the system in which he works. Since the patient didn't bother to expound on his 1 star it's not a helpful review and in fact should be thrown out.
